Great visit from beginning to end. Warm welcome,delicious food and very relaxing end to our stay in South Africa.

Quietly classy in a lovely old school way.

After several stays in undersized rooms, it was a pleasure to spend 2 nights here. Fabulous location and breakfast. We ate out for the two nights of our stay.

No lift (OK - it was only two floors) could be tricky for the grey warriors.

My fantastic stay, which was extremely relaxing.

The Marine Hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff were attentive polite and without exception every single member of the team you came across said good day and always with a smile. The property is exceptionally well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The location is perfect right by the water and many restaurants and shops just a short walk away.

Excellent central location in Hermanus. Very friendly accommodating staff. Comfortable room. Well run hotel with good service. Excellent cuisine and it’s most enjoyable eating breakfast or dinner outside on the terrace looking at the sea (if weather permits). Secure parking outside property. Nice heated swimming pool. Newly opened section of spectacular coastal path is nearby and well worth exploring.

The location and the vibe of the property was incomparable to anywhere I have stayed. We had a non-sea facing room and were doubtful of the experience. But the room opened into a courtyard with bottle brush trees and beautiful yellow birds. Will never forget the space

Luxury escape

Our stay at The Marine Hermanus was truly exceptional. The hotel is elegant and beautifully located, offering stunning ocean views – we were even lucky enough to watch whales right from our room, which made the experience unforgettable. The room was spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The restaurant exceeded our expectations with delicious food and excellent presentation, while the staff were incredibly professional, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel genuinely cared for. Overall, everything was simply outstanding – from the breathtaking views and whale watching to the fine dining and world-class service. We would highly recommend The Marine to anyone visiting Hermanus.

Excellent location with lovely view

I think this is the best hotel in town. The location is excellent, right in front of the ocean, with a long walking path you access directly from hotel - perfect for morning and evening walks, and if you're lucky, you might even see whales. The breakfast menu had plenty of variety and there are many restaurants and cafes within walking destines.

The bathroom was spacious but the room itself was a bit small. The door lock was old style so not easy to use. The bathroom door was a swing door so couldn't be closed tightly..

A beautiful hotel in the heard of Hermanus especially if you want to watch wales during breakfast

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel has a excellent facilities, including gym, spa and restaurant. The breakfast was unique since you can watch wales while you eat. The hotel interior is beautiful.

We had a room with a common terrace. It would be nice to divide the terraces so each one has a private terrace. The room rate is a bit on the high side. Bathroom door doesn't lock.

Our room was amazing. It was like a suite with views over the ocean. We could actually watch the whales from our hotel room. It was really clean and tidy and spacious. The restaurant and bar facilities were also excellent. The location was also really close to all the restaurants etc.

Everything perfect other than the bikes! My son and I had looked forward to taking the hotel’s bikes out. They were very dangerous with no gears or proper brakes - I was told that in order to brake, I had to pedal backwards.

A wonderful sojourn at the Marine-very special.

The management and staff understand the true meaning of hospitality. The service was personalised, the meals we had were excellent, and the fact that my wife and I were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary was recognised by being spoiled with a bottle of bubbly and a complimentary mini-bar. The breakfast was superb, and the room was spacious and well-appointed.
