Good location close to our destination for the day we were there
Very tired appearance, damage to virtually everything from use, some litter, chlorine smell from pools was everywhere and overall no charm or atmosphere.

Breakfast was good plenty and freshly cooked
Location was good
Large indoor pool, Aztec spa facilities very nice relaxing and treatments good value and carried out professionally.
Pictures were generic for all hotels in this chain, Hotel although clean was old and tired could do with TLC, one sofa in reception very worn and cushion split. Not very mobility friendly as narrow corridors to bedrooms and lots of stairs.
4.0 / 10.0
Breakfast lovely but pricy
Needs refurb lifts old and can’t cope with high volume residents, uncomfortable beds tired bathrooms need updating.

The stay was ok. I was next to the fire exit where the car park was. Very noisy and family orientated hotel.
Too loud and busy for me

Awful we left and stayed at a different hotel
Dirty and scabby and room was on a hill. If I put a ball on the bed it would’ve rolled off onto the floor
6.0 / 10.0
The outdoor pool was a bit cold, but inside was perfect. Receptionist not friendly at all just nodes no actual communication.
Breakfast just basic n repeat,
The rooms needs upgrading, beds were not comfortable you could feel the springs when laying on them. Lack of charging points just only 2 sockets far away from the beds.
We paid half the cost of stay via booking.com. so it was reasonable.
I wouldnt pay 600£ for 2 nights with such state of the hotel.

Really good food and entertainment
Rooms at front of property so really loud with road traffic. Also no fridge

Entertainment was good
Asked for quiet room got noisest toom there, lustened traffic all night,no sleeplike being on a motorway! A long walk from room to lift. Husband parkingsons which I told the booking staff! So he was always exhausted. We were in toom 160 was way too far from lift! My poor husband didn’t get whst we asked for at all.

The property was good, lots to do.
The bed was really uncomfortable
5.0 / 10.0
The pool, sauna and steam room were great, there was also an outdoor pool, and the food in the restaurant was actually ok. The spa you pay extra for was very high-end—like something you’d get in a 5-star place.
WiFi was pretty bad and phone signal wasn’t much better.
The bedrooms are very dated. Our room wasn’t that clean, though in the rest of the hotel it was hard to tell if things were dirty or just really old. There were no smoke alarms in the rooms either—we could clearly smell people smoking in the room next to us.
The TV had Netflix, but you couldn’t log in with a QR code so you had to type your details in. There’s no air con, and the rooms get hot as the windows only open a few inches.
A few things didn’t work, like the bathroom lights. In the games room every machine needed cash, but the cashpoint was out of order.

Location was good, facilities were great
Very dated inside the whole building. Beds were awful to sleep on. Asked for extra pillows and never supplied

Nothing
If you are over 55 go to this hotel but if you are 25-30 do not go. No offence but is only older people there. Is not as on the pictures, the pool and spa was ok but rest not really . The condition of the room was poor ( it was kind of clean) but very old and damaged. No recommend for holiday. The stuff was polite and they try them best but is simply the hotel is very old and 90% of the people that were there was over 65 years old. Do not go if you have kids as they will be disappointed

There were no pros to my stay at the Derwent hotel
The hotel was outdated, rooms were untidy with wallpaper hanging off, holes in window frames. Foreign students running up and down corridors late at night shouting at the top of there voices, with blatant lack of respect for other hotel guests and was not handled by hotel staff.

Very clean room with nice crisp bedding, except for the large hole on the side of my duvet cover. Breakfast edible and plenty of it. Staff alright quite helpful but not much customer service offered as I booked through a 3rd party I.e Booking.com
Very hot in the bedroom as no air con. Provided with a fan which was useless. Bit dated and corridors dark, carpet in need of tlc. Shower gave off an awful sewerage smell and didn't drain very quickly meaning I was stood in my dirty water 🙃
Only 1 lift serving all floors, bit of a nightmare. Coffee tasteless but juice and tea choices was lovely.

Excellent indoor pools.
Difficult to manoeuvre wheelchair in corridors and tiny lifts, if I had been weaker or chair user heavier I would not have been able to cope.
room not really big enough for wheel chair user, on booking was told would be a “larger” room for this reason. Any smaller and the wheelchair would have to be kept in the corridor

Not a lot
The hotel itself was dirty, looks nothing like the pictures, outdoor pool looked very dirty and unkept, the disabled facilities were very poor, beds very uncomfortable, flooring was uneven in bedrooms
8.0 / 10.0
Room was furthest away from the stairs . the bathroom door didn’t shut and the fan was really noisy so on its last legs. I complained and was given a new fan which was much better but nothing could be done about the bathroom door as it was broken . I felt that I was given a bad room as I didn’t book direct with the hotel because it was mentioned when I checked in
Felt a bit dated , my room wasn’t the nicest , dark , not good view and broken door. I also felt charging for the pool towels was cheap , they should have just been given to use free

Breakfast was good. Buffet style with plenty of options.
The location was near the beach front. However the hill it was set on was very steep and the walk back to the hotel was strenuous. Plenty of parking but costs £10 per night.
The rooms were very clean, however the carpets and decorations throughout were in need of refreshing

Location was good.
Rooms were not together. Rooms were dated and had a musty smell. Walls in the room were covered in visible dust.

Traditional hotel good value and breakfast buffet
All ok

Very good
On first floor but still had to drag our cases up 3 steps and then 12 more. This was not good for 2 pensioners
7.0 / 10.0
Location helpful staff swimming pool
Bed mattress too thin. Having to pay for a swim while a payed guest at the hotel.
3.0 / 10.0
Aztec pool complex is nice but all the metal staircases are completely rusted out, steam room not working, staff uninterested just happy chatting amongst themselves
Breakfast was ok
The Noise
Paper thin walls meant you could hear everything in rooms next door.
No control over guests with children using electric scooters in corridors and in the bar area almost knocking drinks out of people’s hands
Had to ring night steward at 1.30am due to noise in rooms which was sorted so one good point
