Was ok but paying more for a view was disappointing nasty nets and seal had gone so condensation so not great view

Definitely needs new curtains many holes, carpets also need replacing in many areas.. A brush to outside areas wouldn’t go amiss, I’m aware it’s winter but very messy!!

I booked this apartment/hotel entertainment for my kids to get away on holiday for Christmas unfortunately there was absolutely nothing to do for the kids for the day. No entertainment for the kids for the day wouldn’t recommend this hotel for children. especially the older generation just moaning about the kids trying to enjoy What was there?

Pros and cons.

Stayed in a self catering apartment in victoria. Very clean room.Comfy beds, good level of blackout in rooms. Enough plug sockets and enough lighting with dimmers in lounge and bedroom. Good selection of channels on tv. Hot shower, hot water in kitchen. Kitchen had majority of things needed. Problems raised were resolved. Fab entertainment in the resort. The kids entertainer and bingo compare were really good fun. Bar staff friendly and patient. We enjoyed a game of bowls and a game of ten pin bowling. Enjoyed the arcade. Reasonably priced food and drink. Aztec food was really nice. Pool was amazing and well staffed.Staff all really lovely, especially in the derwent part.Good location. Land train picks up right outside derwent entrance. Riviera centre across the road.

Front and bedroom of apartment had no heating. Porter brought electric heaters but it was hard to get swimming things clean. It is advertised to have housekeeping but didnt see any, had to call reception for more loo roll. No instructions for induction hob, had to call porter to help in the end bc i couldnt work it out via google. Ended up microwaving but there were no microwavable bowls (except cereal bowls). Mugs were very, very small. Cold water ran warm so i had to run the cold water tap for 2.5 minutes to get cold drinkable water. Reception advised water was fine and to run for 5 mins and said this to me as if this was a normal thing to do. I think victoria reception were fed up with me calling by day 3. Overall very tired apartment, had an iron mark in the hall carpet, dents and scuffs on the walls. Poor paint job in hall. The pleather dining chairs were moulting. Fridge faces the wrong way, so i could only open fridge by shutting the kitchen door, which was awkward in such a small space. Bingo and arcade change machine are cash only. There is a cash point in the arcade but it charges 1.75 per withdrawal. No other cash points within brief walking distance. Have to pay £10 per night to park if book through booking.com. Which was annoying.

Have stayed at TLH loads of times but will never return.

Good location and a good breakfast.

Cleanliness was a big downfall, dirty bed, shower terrible, furniture in the room was in a terrible state, no entertainment as hotel was booked out to skittles event and only catered for them, private event signs everywhere ! Spent evenings in the room. The staff were very unhelpful and not interested when I tried to complain, told me all they could do was pass my concerns onto a manager as I’d booked through booking.com. Have to pay £10 a night to park if you book through booking.com but free if you book direct.

A comfortable stay with lots of facilities.

Our room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Hotel facilities were great, with plenty of entertainment on offer, plus great spa and leisure facilities. The hotel is conveniently located, and within easy walking distance of the seafront attractions.

Some of the carpets in the corridors were a bit worn, and need replacing.

Entertainment and swimming pool plus location.

Size of bedroom and bathroom were too small. Room was also very tired in need of redecorating and replacement of furniture. WC was loose (2 blocks of wood were wedged behind the unit). Hairdryer defective.

The swimming pools were great!

The room was dated and dirty. The beds were exceptionally uncomfortable. We asked to be moved but there were no spaces so had to make do with a mattress protector to try and reduce the impact of the springs in the bed.

Generally I will recommend to stay

Its close to the beach, 5 min walk. They have many different foods to choose from, we didn't eat there but we saw the menus. Beds are so comfy OMG so comfy! I was in love with the beds. Big plus that they have a pools there.

I hate it that they have so many pools and not even one pool design just for the kids and another one just for the adults. We been there few days, each time we went to use pool/sauna/jacuzzi there were kids under 10 using it, all the time you could hear screaming kids, playing around, arguing with each other sooo annoying, can't rest properly. Not even that but they were jumping to the pool even when seen signs that they not supposed to jump... so many ppl swimming, this just not end well one day, no one told them nothing...

Overall everything we needed was there

The staff could have been a bit friendlier especially in the dinning area, no smiles or greetings. Everything seemed to be too much effort, however, the most of the reception staff were good especially Jess who went beyond. The bar staff in The Albert bar were very good. The cleaners were very thorough on 1st floor. Can’t speak for rest.

The staff were really friendly and we wasn’t waiting long at all to check in. There is everything in there, you wouldn’t need to leave the hotel, the pool inside and outside was good, they had an arcade and the live acts they had to come and sing were brilliant.

The hotel clearly hasn’t been refitted for a very long time, externally you can see it needs some TLC. The timber windows are not in very good condition. The lift sounded very dodgy and had a handwritten post saying 4 people at a time to avoid damage or injury, even though the lift said max capacity of 8. No air-con in the room and it was so hot when we stayed so had to have the windows open but it was really loud until early hours. The food menu was limited, and the food was not very nice.

Disappointing stay

Good location, near the beach and all amenities in town. The kitchen in the apartment had all the utensils we needed for cooking.

The hotel is very dated and needs a full revamp. We stayed in an apartment with a family room ( a single bed and a double bed) the beds very uncomfortable you could feel the springs digging. The carpet were old and dirty. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the bathroom had mould in the corner due to the lack of ventilation.The floorboard had gaps in between and made the floor uneven. The sofa was also dirty and not very comfortable.

Loved my stay at TLH Victoria hotel

The lady at the reception was very welcoming and checked us in very professionally and quickly. She had a smile which made it more friendly and welcoming.

The only downside was there was no complimentary water given in the rooms. Other then that everything else was great

If you like peace and quiet

Chilled out, quiet and lots of space. The indoor pools are lovely and the breakfasts was plentiful. Everyone was very friendly. Watched the euro cup final in Albert's bar and it had a great atmosphere

It's slightly aged. The pool tables and amusements are not high quality and the outdoor swimming pool was not open despite the website saying it was open from may. The fridge in the room did not work

Swimming wise lovely, everything else, not so lovely.

Kids enjoyed the play area and the swimming facilities.

Upset that we had to pay £40 extra for breakfast, would've been £80 but didn't want to pay for two nights as that's alot of money. Door kept making a noise everytime another door opened which meant we thought people were coming into the apartment. My partner and myself got bitten by something over night (partner on chest / back) mine is on my chest. Spoken to someone about it and they didn't say much. Really upset by this.
