The location was good. The staff friendly.

The car parking was very poor. The stairs were very difficult. Although they stated on the phone that they could cater to my dietary needs, it wasn't good. The food was poor. The young man in the bar who we paid for the stay, didn't give us an itemised receipt and I believe he overcharged us.

Friendly welcome. The room. The bath. The walking opportunities. The real ale. The village.

Waiting over an hour to be served an evening meal. I am afraid that after that we went to the 3 Crowns and Ring O'Bells. The shower.

The room was spacious and spotless. Very comfy bed. The food served in the evening was really delicious.

Although 'dog friendly' dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room. They can be left in your room, or secured in an adjacent room where they can see you . No provision is made to have breakfast with your pup. However, the staff accommodated our wishes and we were able to eat in the garden.

Great Stay

We were in the Wild Rose room. The room was very big and well furnished and had everything we needed. The bed was very big and extremely comfy. The room was clean and generally very comfortable. We had plenty of tea and coffee bags etc. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. Well prepared and tasty. Would certainly recommend!

Only slight criticism was the shower and mirror in bathroom was too low for me. I am 6ft 2 and I had to stoop down to use...lol!

The wonderful welcome from Graham and Mary. The location was perfect, situated in the village close to all amenities. Nothing was too much trouble. The food and service were outstanding.

Great central location

Great location and we were able to park right outside. Team were very friendly. The bedroom was very big with books, teas and coffees etc provided. Breakfast was nice.

We had the attic room and couldn’t stand up in the shower over the bath. The sink was plugged tight with water in it on arrival and we couldn’t remove it and there was no shampoo / conditioner available. Quite pricey in our opinion.

Old style inn facing the church

It is an old coach house, architecturally interesting, with quirky stairs and halls that wind around. The location is right across from St Michael the Archaengel church with a view from the restaurant (where a real chef prepares gourmet English food with local produce)

A wonderful place to stay, great food, great rooms and gorgeous staff

We felt welcome from the moment we walked into the Globe. All the staff were marvellous and the barman that looked after us in the evening made us feel special. The quality of the food was amazing better than eating in a top-end restaurant.

Luxurious room and wonderful food in a charming Dartmoor town.

The king suite was beautiful and dinner was excellent.

The hotel has no private parking so on street parking is your option. We arrived for a Saturday night stay mid-afternoon and were fortunate to get a spot right in front of the hotel at no charge. This would be an issue on another day. While our suite was luxurious it was up 2 flights of winding stairs so definitely not an option for anyone with mobility issues. The hotel is right across from a lovely old church that is commendably trying to reintegrate the nesting of swifts, however these birds can be quite loud early in the morning. Be careful with what route your GPS leads you….. we were lead down a one lane cattle path for about 2 miles prior to arriving right in front of the hotel!

Top place for a stop over on the Two Moors Way

I arrived early for the room and they went out of their way to accommodate me and my room was made available. The room was well equipped and very clean. The food was excellent, I would certainly recommend the steak and ale pie.

The staff are friendly, the food is really amazing and the whole place is lovely. I always send my lads here when we are in the area, great place great value for money. I had some good news that day so may have drunk more than i should but the staff, the food, the rooms were all lovely.

It was fine, & the room was very clean, though the staircase to it was very narrow.

Breakfast ok, though the cooked part was lukewarm, & a bit slow.

Shower head in bathroom was far too low for anyone above about 5 feet 8! I had to crouch down to get my head under the water.
