Having had a booking cancelled by another Buckfastleigh property we didn't have many other booking options in the town. But what a stroke of luck that turned out to be. Great location and accommodation with a real personal feel. Effort in making the terrace a nice place to relax in was very evident. The staff were very friendly and helpful and so good to see the inn management supporting young people through apprenticeships. Dining, both breakfast and dinner, was excellent. I also enjoyed the house hazy IPA.
Room was a little small, but we only used it for sleeping. Plenty of other space in the inn to relax. Shower power was weak.

Nice little touches and really friendly staff.
The coffee at breakfast wasn’t great. Breakfast itself was delicious though.

Food quality was excellent and the staff were friendly.
The mattress was ancient, collapsing with springs giving out and pinging. Miserably uncomfortable. The mattress was unfit for purpose. When I complained the Manageress said they didn't check mattresses! The food was excessively expensive, £10 for a starter with just four prawns.
