Just a great place to stay

The room was a little apartment located at the back of the property also you get your own signed parking space 👍 the staff were friendly and the meal we had was excellent Would we go back and recommend to others oh definitely

Very good overnight stay

The location was very good only a couple of miles from the A38 and not far to Newton Abbot. Evening meal was very good with some different dishes

Great pub, not a great stay

This is a great pub with great food, but definitely a poor stay.

Facilities were a bit tired around the edges. Staff didn’t seem to take it very seriously when they came into my room whilst I was there 😱 Caused me great anxiety as a single traveller. No way of securing the room as just a basic night latch door lock. Neighbouring room occupant also spent most of the night screaming, so probably one of the worst nights I’ve spent in a long time.

Our room was extremely hot. We turned both radiators off. But still very warm Breakfast was a long wait. It would have be nice if it was communicated so we could have made a decision to go somewhere else. But when it arrived it was beautiful and fresh

Exceptional Pub Hospitality

By 'Stay at a pub' standards it was exceptional. Spotlessly clean, superbly comfortable bed with Brixham fish and Devon Venison for dinner

Technicals! Neither Wi Fi on-site addresses were connectable. TV zapper was on the blink. But who cares when all else is so good.

Lovely room, very comfortable and private away from the main pub. Huge bed and fresh milk delivered in the morning! Ordered an evening meal in the pub and took it back to the room, staff were very accomodating.

Very small niggle, we were woken up quite early by what sounded like a trolley or wheelie bin being pulled around

Such a lovely place but....................................

We've stayed here twice before. Once in one of the rooms and once in our caravan on the campsite and both previous stays have been fantastic. This year we opted to stay in a room again and friends of ours came to join us and stayed in their camper van on our recommendation. The facilities, location, cleanliness and pub food (the portions are huge and very reasonable priced) were all above expectation. This time our room was as expected and everything was top notch. The staff will go over and above to accommodate you and cant do enough for you.

With the weather being so hot the room was boiling and no fans are supplied so we had to have the windows open day and night to try and cool the room down. Unfortunately on this occasion, there were a few caravans full of undesirable people staying on the campsite that had no consideration for anyone else staying on the site or in the rooms. They allowed their children to run riot all around the campsite and up to the pub garden/decking. These children were charging around shouting on the Saturday evening until approx 2am and again on the Sunday night until approx 2.45am! So inconsiderate and even more so when everyone has to have all their windows open! We were not the only people who were not happy as other guests (both campers & room occupants) were voicing their opinions over breakfast each morning and while chatting walking our dogs in the dog field areas. We did tell a young girl on check out what had happened, but because the Manager wasn't around she was totally out of her depth and didn't even offer an apology. We thought we had found a place that we would visit every year, but this years experience has completely changed our mind. If this business continues to allow these sort of people to pitch their caravans on the site, their business will seriously suffer as we are just one couple out of many that will not return next year.

Great stay and way better than we had hoped - thanks to the staff.

I was a little unsure abut this place before we arrived but Boy! was I wrong, The highlight of the Dartmoor Halfway Inn was undoubtably the staff. Unfailingly helpful and certainly cheerful at all times, this was the most service minded bunch we had met. We really liked this place. Breakfast, dinner, the beer garden were all great and the location close to the main artery through Devon allows trips out without hassle. The room was basic, but had everything we needed. This place we would definitely go back to - and recommend to others.

The girl that welcomed us, took my. Mobility impairment into account when showing us the room. 10 out of 10 for her and all the waiting staff were so friendly and polite. Food very good. Great spacious shower.

People sitting literally outside the window and noisy (not their fault). No non slip mat in the shower which I needed due to mobility.

Good stopover on the way to Cornwall

Room was spacious and in a separate building to the pub. Although situated on a main road the noise was minimal once in the room.

The staff in the evening, they were polite but customer service was poor. However, the girls serving breakfast were lovely and could teach the evening staff a thing or two.

Breakfast was a problem. No option to include breakfast in a room rate. Breakfasts were very expensive and no cereal / continental option. If you wanted coffee with your breakfast it cost £3.80 for a small cup! Not even a complimentary fruit juice!

Great.

The room is very nice and located so you can’t hear the traffic on a busy road. The shower is very good pressure wise but not enough hot water to have 2 showers in a row. Love the quirkiness and the fresh milk delivered each morning, great. The towels are really nice, very clean and soft.

The paintwork in the room is quite tired. The bedding could do with updating, although clean it’s looking old and a bit frayed. The full breakfast was very tasty but a little mean on portions. The bread for toast is of a poor quality and thinly sliced. We love our thick homemade toast.

Fantastic value for money for luxury accommodation in a fabulous place

The accommodation was separate from the main building which is a restaurant/bar and was in a quiet location. Great large car park. The ensuite room is fabulous and finished at a very high level. Lots of freebies and a huge walk-in shower. It was very clean. I can't believe that I only paid £85 for a room which I would class as luxury. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food in the restaurant is very nice.

A lovely peaceful stay with a great breakfast!

Our room was comfortable very dog friendly as was the whole pub/Inn… The bed was comfortable and the setting was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was also lovely and the staff were very friendly to us and little cockapoo dogs Sooty and Sweep… A special mention to Casper who was really attentive, kind and lovely especially to our little dogs.. He went out of his way to help us…. We have already booked to return!

Comfortable, food etc not good value

According to my booking breakfast was available for £15 per day, however, I was charged separately each day and on the first day my poached eggs with a traditional English and two coffees came in at £20.55. Day two I ordered a cafetiere of coffee which cut the cost to £16 + and day likewise day three. Also unfortunately the room had an any problem.. time of year and countryside don't help but....
