The owner’s hospitality was truly spectacular. You think you are staying for the beautiful garden and the best part ends up being Olivier and Lawrence. The property was beautiful and they did an amazing job making us feel welcomed to not only the property but to Avignon. We love bed and breakfasts and this was our favorite one ever.

Cozy B&B that always smelled of cinnamon. Beautiful back garden. Gracious and friendly hosts.
Nothing. It’s a building from the 17th century, so it doesn’t have all the modern conveniences. But that’s what made it special.

Everything! Quiet pool. Full fridge. Nice house & fantastic garden. Everything you need for a holiday in South France.
Nothing really, only if you are 3 ppl but not family, would be better book 2 rooms. :)

It was easy to explore Avignon using this B&B as a home base. The train station was walkable. We took a quick taxi to visit a nearby town and returned from that town on the train. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and spacious. The hosts were lovely - informative and helpful.
We stayed during a heat wave and the air conditioning in our room was insufficient to keep us comfortable.

Olivier was an amazing host, throughly explained the lay of the land, gave us great suggestions and even got us situated with parking which in busy Avignon was like gold !
We were in the midst of significant heat wave and the AC was a touch under to the task

Everything was incredible! From the start our hosts were absolutely amazing. Olivier really took the time to explain the area, help us with any questions we had, and made us feel extremely welcome. He even has a passion for sustainability, which we appreciated. Olivier even helped us find a last minute tour with his friend Gordana (who is actually the top rated tour in Avignon!). The gardens were beautiful and I really appreciated the art everywhere. Rooms were very comfortable and well decorated. In the morning we had fresh croissants and pain au chocolat brought in with fresh fruit. Coffee was accessible all day. This is what vacation should feel like! I can’t recommend this place enough and I want to plan a trip back to Avignon just to stay here again. An absolute gem!!!
There was nothing to dislike!

The property was a hidden gem. The entrance was quaint with flowers by the front door. We were greeted immediately by name and shown around the property with details of possible itineraries. They included breakfast with fresh bread jam juice and espresso! I would highly recommend and will be back again to stay here in Avignon!!
Everything was impeccable including the host, the room the property grounds !!

The whole vibe of the accommodation is like a secret oasis in the city. It’s magical and comfortable at the same time.

Oliver has to be the biggest positive about the property. The property is very cosy and has a lovely backyard. There are a lot of good restaurants close by. It’s situated in the old town and the popes palace is a 10 min walk. The parking provided by Oliver was reasonably priced and close to the property. He also has a lot of suggestions and recommendations and offered to do a lot of our booking for us.
The walk up three floors to our room and no AC at the time we visited. They said that they do change the heating to AC in summer. No black out curtains so light tends to fill the room once the sun rises.

Beautiful, comfortable, hideaway within reach of all the main attractions of Avignon. Really fantastic, authentic, superbly decorated and clean B&B. It has a lush, lovingly maintained garden; which really is a fabulous oasis of calm and a hard-to-beat backdrop to have breakfast in. The hosts are extremely warm and welcoming. They also provided great insights on where to go and what to do.
The property has no lift so may not suit everyone.

Our three days at Les Jardins de Maracane were absolutely perfect. Staying in the Babylone suite on the third floor was such a treat, with its lovely views over the rooftops and the peaceful garden below.
Even though we were close to everything, it felt like a hidden oasis, and we cherished coming back each afternoon to unwind by the pool in the private, serene gardens.
Aicha, our wonderful hostess, made our stay extra special. She was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Her daily chats and care really made us feel at home—nothing was ever too much trouble for her.
The house cat, Minette was a constant joy curling up next to us each morning at breakfast ( and we are not normally cat people 😊)
Mosquitoes were a pest but we were given excellent repellent 👍

This place is so great, it is too much to write down! But, best features are: the authenticity of the old house (although completely up to date), the wonderful secluded and charming garden, the great breakfast, the amazing location (we walked everywhere) and last but not least the kindness, welcome and help of Olivier and Laurence. They made our stay a pure delight! We will definitely come back!

Les Jardins the Baracane are a gorgeous and lovely place where to stay at when in Avignon. The secluded garden is just incredible and so relaxing. The pool is also very nice and much needed when the heat waves hits South of France. The decor of the garden, of the building and rooms is super well studied. It is very beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast in the garden was a wonderflu way to start the day. You can use the small kitchen with microwave, fridge etc during the whole day. The location is very convenient, it is in the city center and all the main attractions are at walk distance. The hosts were also very kind and communicative with lots of suggestions. We highly recommend this place and if we'll be back in Avignon we'll for sure come back to Les Jardins de Baracane!
There's nothing we did not like.

Olivier and Laurence are exceptional hosts.
Upon arrival, they greet you with a beverage and take the time to learn about their guests. Based on each guest's response, they highlight the best places to visit in and around the city. At the outset, they try to make each person feel like Jardins de Baracane is a home away from home.
From a varied selection of tea and coffee to available beer in the fridge, guests are welcome at any time of the day to grab their beverage of choice, at no additional cost.
Breakfasts are a treat, as our hosts shop early in the morning for the freshest products to provide their guests.
The garden oasis is unbelievable with over 100 different types of plants. The pool is spectacular on hot days, and there are many different nooks to relax in.
Each room is spacious (for accommodations in France), with comfortable beds, ensuite bathroom and beautiful views of the gardens.
This 17th century building is exceptionally maintained and a great spot for extended stays.
If you need assistance, Olivier and Laurence will also coordinate taxis, restaurant reservations and tickets to local performances. They take care of all the little things to make sure each guest's stay is carefree and memorable.
If I could provide a higher score than 100, I would. That's how special Les Jardins de Baracane is (as well as, Olivier and Laurence). Thank you for such an incredible experience.
There was absolutely nothing to improve this experience.
It would be nice if something like Jardins de Baracane was in North America. However, to experience a getaway like this, it's worth the trip to Avignon.

Excellent location and walk-in distance to all major sights in Avignon. the hosts were super friendly and helpful with everything. especially in giving tips to people on restaurants and sightseeing trips
Rooms are too small as it’s an old building. if you have 2-3 suitcases then you don’t have enough space to open them without jumping or tripping over them.

Everything! From the location, which was perfect, to the hosts, Olivier and Laurence, who were just the most consummate hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Stunning house and gardens. We’re definitely coming back. it would be madness not to!
Nothing. It was perfect.

Couldn't have been thrilled with our stay here! Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the garden was stunning, breakfast in the garden was excellent. Location was better than anticipated as the best bars and coffee shops are close by. Best of all though - the owners are such lovely people! Thank you both so much for such a wonderful stay.

It was a wonderful stay and a beautiful property in a great location with safe and secure underground parking. We couldn't have asked for more and hope to be back. Lots of useful information provided on check-in and we were made to feel very comfortable for our stay.
Nothing - it was lovely.

A very welcoming home in the middle of Avignon. it genuinely feels like staying with a friend - with the kitchen set up, wonderful garden and recommendations for anything you could ever want to ask locally! The rooms are all so interesting and individual - it’s nothing like staying in a hotel! We really enjoyed staying here, and hope to be back
We found our room a little hot - but given that it was on the top floor in 37C heat in the middle of August, and we are used to the Scottish climate, this isn’t surprising!

We arrived after traveling 24+ hours from Santa Fe, NM. The taxi from the Avignon train station dropped us off around the corner (streets too tight for cars) and initially we felt a bit lost and disoriented. So it was a totally magical experience to arrive at Les Jardins de Baracane. Olivier greeted us with warmth, laughter, hospitality and just right the amount of town info. We had a suite on the third floor of a 17th century manse previously inhabited by Jesuits, charmingly outfitted with antiques and art (including a doorstop of an ice skating bear!). It was roomy, comfortable, and with large windows looking out onto a magical garden. The garden includes meandering paths around mature fig trees, olive trees, vines, banana trees, a swimming pool, a statue of a sheep and Minette, the fat cat sleeping on her favorite chair. So lovely! It’s illuminated in the evening, but I especially enjoyed sitting there eating breakfast, spreading the best full fat butter and coinfiture on my baguette. It’s a soulful garden oasis.
