Roubaix weekend - mixed feelings

The downstairs bar and lounge area was very pleasant; the selection at breakfast was good. The room (5th floor) was quiet and the room itself was a decent size, we particularly liked the windows which were large and opened wide.

The lady who received us at breakfast didn't smile once and she took us back to reception as she said we hadn't paid for breakfast, which we had and showed her on the invoice. She still refused to let us in. The receptionist confirmed we had paid. Perhaps that was why her manner was quite cold. When we came back to the hotel on Saturday night for a drink before retiring a lovely young lady served us but was unable to make a cocktail and didn't know which glass to use or the quantity of alcohol to pour - she let me tell her and was good natured about this. It is surprising that there was no bar manager there on a Saturday night. When we checked out we weren't asked if we had a good weekend, or thanked for staying there, or wished a good onward journey.

It was a comfortable stay for a business visit - Breakfast was very good

We had a warm and friendly welcome. The welcome area and furniture is very nice. Breakfast was very fresh, hot and tasty with a good variety of options.

The lift area, lift, corridors and bedroom had a musty smell which was a little unpleasant. These areas seem tired and could do with a refurb.

I felt the staff did not care and were willing to fob you off any excuse, we had fire alarms go off in the middle of a sleep and loud music playing until late at night Had a terrible night sleep

Check-in process was friendly, no-fuss and convenient. Housekeeping was polite and efficient. Breakfast was great, nice selection with very attentive staff Dinners were tasty and good value despite limited selection

Sadly a bit disappointing , will not stay there again

Most of the staff were very nice , but my French is poor and one member of staff in the restaurant was very dismissive of me The room was not up to expectations for the money I paid . There was a funny smell in the room and it did not appear really clean Despite emailing in advance there was no parking in the underground car park . My car was vandalised outside the hotel , one of my windows was broken . I was told later this is a dangerous area of Roubaix Due to covid I always carry my own China mug , spoon and coffee. My spoon was taken by the cleaner and never returned . The reception staff said they were going to find it , but it never appeared

Nice building, the hallway /stairway is impressive . Rooms are quite basic, but oke.

À ce niveau de prix , on ne propose pas des chambre sans chauffage .

Je vous déconseille d’aller dans cette établissement l’hiver , le réceptionniste m’a donner une chambre sans chauffage , après vérification il m’a confirmé que la chambre allait chauffée, mais la soufflerie était bloquée pour chauffer rapidement, il faisait 15 degré dans la chambre, le jour de la tempête. J’ai du monter et descendre à 2 reprises pour alerter le réceptionniste et lui demander qu’il m’attribue une autre chambre.
