A poor night's sleep owing to excessive noise from Fire Brigade's disco downstairs

Breakfast was ok but we didn't get downstairs until 09.40 by which time much of the buffet had gone. Bed very comfortable but one of my gripes is that the room seemed much smaller than the one featured online

Small room and not what we'd expected. One small easy chair. We should have been made aware that the hotel would be hosting a dinner and an exceptionally loud disco for the local fire brigade that night! The noise went on until 2am and my wife found it impossible to get to sleep. I went downstairs at about 11pm to speak to reception and ask for a set of ear plugs, Despite waiting around for ten minutes no one was in attendance and on phoning 600+ as advised, still no one answered. We'd previously dined a couple of times in the Pino Gris restaurant with local Belgian friends and were disappointed to see how much the hotel had changed. We would not recommend and are unlikely ever to return.

Hotel Cortina is a well managed hotel in the center of a little town, Wevelgem. The hotel radiates the values of the family behind it. Staff is super friendly. Rooms are basic, but good and very comfortable beds.

Just offer a welcome drink, even if it's just some fresh mineral water.

No food available from the Hotel on a Sunday night. ( the Hotel hosts a large Royal buffet during the day every Sunday till 5pm )Had to find food in the town on a rainy night. Cold water pressure very poor in our room.

Could not turn off heater, so room was extremely hot. Had to sleep with all windows open (noise). Wifi in room was weak.

disappointing

no reception upon arrival (keys in envelope on desk) and room was difficult to find, hardly any indications. The 'single' room was a one person bed, I would have like to know upfront. I was 5' too late for breakfast and the buffet was still there, they refused to give me breakfast!

Never again honestly ...

Breakfast was the saving grace of our stay.

Room wasn't clean at all. After complaining, we were thanked and told the room would be cleaned immediately. We didn't have the impression anything changed ... hair in the bathroom which wasn't ours was still there. Room on the side of a busy and noisy street, lots of noise.

Great sized carpark and a good selection of breakfast options.

No lift from the 1st to second floor and the lift to the 1st floor was out of service. You could hear the neighbouring rooms. Difficult to walk the corridors due to their width and a lack of directional signs made it hard to navigate rooms.

Very good

The bed was comfortable. The toilet was separated from the bathroom, avoiding unpleasant odours. The breakfast was extensive and very well done! I also liked the service very much. In the hotel room, the tv option was nice and had a good range of national and international channels. The strong WiFi connection was nice to have access to everywhere within the hotel.

The room was pretty outdated in regard to appearance, which draws a big contrast between lobby and breakfast area. A slightly more modern appearance would've been appreciated. During the breakfast, some indications towards the timing of the eggs and operation of the toaster would've been appreciated. Unfortunately, the pancakes, served in an au-bain marrie, were stale, probably due to infrequent refreshments or inadequate heating.

All was very good. Comfy and huge bed, friendly staff and very good brunch.

There was no air conditioning in our room, so I would not advise it during a very hot summer day.

Sadly not pleasant:(

The room had a strange sewage like smell and was far too hot inside. There was no ventilation and the small fan provided did not suffice. The bed was far too small and uncomfortable.
