Location and setting - old style charm and lovely gardens.
Getting a bit jaded - a fresh paint of coat would help. Ensuring the stairs were cleaned each day as well.

Good Location
The pool was dirty and when I told them day after day they kept saying that no one has mentioned it. They made no effort. Both pools were covered in algae. I went up and down the beach front from the port to the far end by bike and they had the dirtiest pools that I saw. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. The AC quit working randomly. The bathroom was not cleaned properly before we arrived. The mirror was filthy.
