The ocean view from the room and breeze blowing through the balcony doors. Location is a nice walking distance along the beach to Paihia.

Comfy, yummy nachos, but a vacuum required

The beef nachos were the best I've ever had! Free EV charging was easy and much appreciated. Room was a decent size, and the TV a good size too for relaxing after a days diving.

Well I'm sad to say, but the cleanliness was not up to scratch. I found on the floor of my room a leftover plaster - I left it on the floor by my bed the entire stay (3 nights) to see if it disappeared - it didn't. There was also duck feathers on the floor (I'm not a birdologist - but there were ducks on the lawn, so I'm putting 2 and 2 together) - the point being, I don't think a vacuum saw the light of day during my stay. And then the towels - when replenishing my towels, some were not replaced (specifically the floor towel) and a towel with VERY obvious brown stains was provided (I took a photo I was so disturbed). I provided all this feedback to reception when checking out - so I trust this will be given the attention it requires for a hotel of it's purported level. I didn't mention to reception, but also the hallway between carpark and my room was clearly not vacuumed either (now I sound like my wife - but I was just about to do it this weekend!) - perhaps this coming weekend Copthorne will also finally vacuum.

Great location but tired rooms

Location was great, buffet breakfast and dinner was amazing, pool was great too. The garden view rooms are a little tired and needs some extra care and cleaning (cobwebs in corners, crickets crawling around in bathroom, bottle of beers under chair outside from previous guests), perhaps a renovation but other than that I enjoyed my one night stay :)

Great view though we won't stay at a Copthorn Hotel again.

We had a lovely room (though very dated) looking over the water; this was the only thing that pleased me during our 4 night stay. We asked for a bottle opener and they only had one in the whole establishment so couldn't lend to us. Housekeeping didn't wash up our glasses from the evening before (on two consecutive nights) and if they did they did a terrible terrible job. Housekeeping didn't know what a coat hanger was!! We did complain about the repacement of our glasses and how terribly dirty they where left and the manager did credit us our room bill which didn't nearly cover the inconvenience of the issues we had, though I nice gesture.

So many things and I don't normally complain.First you didn't give me the room I ask for plus paid for.I rang before staying to make sure We had the waterfront room with bath . When I told the front of house staff and told them I was very upset as I was paying over $600 they didn't try and fix it and as I walked away pissed of I turned to find them laughing easy to see the ($600) not coming out of there bank account . Airconditioning in our room leaked inside left the bed wet on corner.Fridge didn't stay cold .

Family fun

The location is perfect. The views from the resort itself. The bedrooms are beautiful and I love the garden. The pool and spa is otherworldly, just lovely and huge. The dinner buffet was delicious and high quality.

I think the cleanliness (more specifically the bathrooms) could be a little better but otherwise it was wonderful. The housekeepers are fantastic and hardworking, I know it’s a lot of work and difficult to ensure everything/every room is perfect.

Best staycation!

The bed was exceptionally comfortable, we also had a newly renovated garden room with a small patio which was so delightful. My 1 year old especially loved the pool, it made me so happy watching him play in the pool designed for children his age.

Car parking was our only issue with 2 trailers taking up valuable parking space.

This hotel alternated from smelling like B.O. to vomit down the hallways. The B.O of the staff that cleaned our rooms were so bad that whilst there was a storm outside we needed to air our rooms out with the doors open for 30mins.

Location of hotel & our room location was wonderful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Loved that the pool was open from early morning to late evening. Our granddaughters loved the ducks & their chicks free roaming.

Room design was old & tired, needs updating, cubicle shower rather than over the bath would be expected for this standard hotel/room/price. Pool was lovely but could do with another warmer pool & or spa, a slide area for kids, more loungers, bean bags, & definitely more shade umbrellas. There's enough land at the hotel to provide a decent playground area for 0-10 years too. Buffet didn't provide basic options for young children, example fries. Resturant bar food was good but a bit basic. My chowder was the smallest I've every had, the butter was melted to liquid & went all over my white jeans.

Nice hotel but could do better.....

The hotel was in a beautiful location but not 4 star rated, the pool was beautiful but only 14 sun loungers were provided, not enough for a hotel that size. The rooms were large but very dated, the carpet looked to have iron burns on it and the handrail in the bath was coming off the wall. We had a garden room which offered no privacy unless we closed the doors needing the lights to be tirned on, the slated doors should be movable. The concierge was brilliant offering free trips into town but we came across this by accident, it wasnt widely advertised... nice hotel but needed to be much better for the rating.

Close proximity to Waiting treaty grounds and beach

The room didn't look anything like the pictures in the booking. Instead of a garden view we looked at a lawn area and the access road to the busy wharf. In the pictures the room looked nice and bright including bed-side tables, including lamps, as well as a nice couch for additional seating. Unfortunately we didn't have any of the items and instead the room seemed run down and depressing. The bathroom looked similar to the provided pictures, but unfortunately it was slightly dirty, as well as the walls and bath had marks and chips on them.

Brilliant gorgeous location. Loved the pool, all staff were fabulous, kind and welcoming.

Cleaning could be a bit better, sticky door handles, fingermarks on doors etc. Need way more loungers at the pool and I could not find pool towels anywhere even though I had a towel card, I was not going to walk all the way to reception from my room which was already miles away so maybe have towels at the pool?

Shower over bath, grouting around bath mouldy. steam extractor didn't work bathroom sink was also were you had to wash cups and glasses. Lots of cobwebs on the wall above our bed head and ceiling. Mirror behind door hadn't been cleaned for a while. Walls could do with a coat of paint.

Our room opened onto a balcony which rolled ont grass which rolled down to the water. Lovely peaceful views.

We have been allocated rooms upstairs, my mum is in 80's, there is no lift. So she has to walk stairs which is not convenience. The wifi is difficult to set it up on all phones. All my stays I have to use my own mobile data. I have get the staff to help my mum's phone set up the free Wifi. Not happy with this. the bathroom looks very old.

Pretty average, overpriced and I don’t think I would stay again

Did enjoy the spa just thought area needed maintaining, restaurant was spacious and inviting

Room was clean but not a lot of wardrobe space, pool area was not clean and tidy, could have used little more TLC and even a Rake! Buffet breakfast was a little bit overpriced, cooked breakfast wasn’t that hot, lukewarm but good selection.

If you are charging people for a 2pm check in make sure we can check in at 2pm, not 3pm!

Check in delayed by 1 hour due to cleaning staff so we received our keys for our rooms at 3pm, when I asked reception what would I receive as compensation she said she would need to ask her manager who was standing next to her, got no acknowledgement or anything! Our day started at 430am, 2 flights & an hours drive with a toddler hence our dissatisfaction with a 3pm check in. Then at approx 730pm I sent my grand daughter to ask for body wash & shampoo as there was nothing in our shower room 112 as there was nothing, they were unhelpful too.

There was a group of young people who made a lot of noise for a few days. There was not enough toilet paper. The house keeping staff were quite loud early in the morning asking people if they wanted their rooms cleaned.

Unfortunately one of the reasons that we like coming to the Copthorne is to enjoy the pool and spa but the pool was closed for maintenance for the nights we stayed. his was disappointing as there was no maintenance being done whilst we were there.

Found the room is very tired, bathroom curtainly needs up dated. Nothing wrong with the location, very nice. I noticed the dinning room needs to be updated, cleaning needs a lot more attention to detail, cobwebs around the bar, bottletop hadn't been picked up in the 3 days we were there. Food was very nice.
