Lovely stay

So much space and lovely room and bathroom. Bathroom was stunning.

It's quite loud as the windows are not that thick and a lot of stairs so be prepared for the stairs!!

Unique overnight facility

This facility was central to all the sights of Lucca's walled city. It was a really interestingly restored building which was secure. It was ideal for us and right around the corner from the location of a musical evening we had booked.

It wasn't a problem for us but there is no lift and there are 76 steps from the top to the bottom so it's not suitable for someone with mobility issues or large heavy baggage.

The location was superb, as long as you were happy to hear all the live concerts, which we were delighted and surprised about! The outside space was a bonus. Lovely big room, dual aspect. Huge fridge was a bonus, shame about the kettle but no cups or coffee

Self check in was a nightmare. No one available when problems arose. The toilet ceased to flush, we texted but have still not had a response two days later. We were left without a functioning toilet with no alternative offered. We were asked for our opinion of check in, responded but still have had no reaction. As mentioned in the info, there are a lot of stairs! Be aware!

Welcome to Hotel Self-Serve: BYO Manager and Plumber

Centrally located. Potential if someone actually worked there.

We were extremely disappointed with the service at this property. Firstly, there were no staff present at any time—not even for check-in or check-out—which is unacceptable for a centrally located hotel. We were locked out of our room for 30 minutes and were unable to contact the manager. During that time, another guest was also experiencing issues with their room. When we finally gained access to our room, yet another guest knocked on our door asking for help, as they too were unable to reach the manager. The worst part of our stay, however, was discovering that the sink was blocked. Although we informed the manager, no action was taken. We were ultimately forced to decant the water into the bidet just to make the sink usable.

Overall we enjoyed the property and our time there. Some of the pros outweighed the cons.

Suite size huge. Lovely bathroom. Beautiful aspect and view. Central location in city and easy to get to from station. Traditional style decor Frequent linen and towel replacements even on our short stay

No staff available on reception at any time. Self check in process was tricky although someone did eventually come to help We were on top floor which is up 4 flights of stairs and about 80 steps. This was challenging. Make sure you know which room you will be in if you have any access or health needs. Central location on square meant it was noisy. Gathering place at night and early morning cleaning trucks and deliveries .Windows and shutters did block out some noise but not all. Security of property felt a bit insecure. Door and lock to apartment was quite flimsy. Reception staff now non existent. No breakfast arrangements offered at local cafe so this must have stopped.

Zero noise isolation. Given that the room gave directly on the main square, the night was very noisy until 3am roughly and we woke up with the cleaning of the piazza at dawn onna Sunday morning. The many stairs are not for everyone.

Great hotel, too many stairs, amazing location

The room was beautiful. The bed was comfy, and the shower was surprisingly roomy for Italy. There was a giant refrigerator, odd but cool. It is smack in the middle of Lucca.

This property is in the heart of Lucca, clean, very spacious and had everything you need. The lady that checked us in was pleasant and very helpful. Sure there are a few stairs to get up to your room, but it’s worth it. We stayed in No.4 and I can highly recommend that room

I’ve messaged the hotel for help and got no response after checking in! The AC was so loud I couldn’t sleep and got a headache. The second room’s AC stopped working in the middle of the night. The hot water stopped working the second day.

The room was very clean and the location was very central. Nice view of the plaza.

The apartment was 5-6 flights of steep stairs with no elevator. Very difficult bringing our luggage up. A very loud alarm was going off several times throughout the night. So loud that when we opened the windows to see what it was, it hurt our ears! The alarm was on the outside of the building. It sounded like a fire alarm. I messaged the WhatsApp number letting them know about the alarm. They never responded. I also messaged the property twice about checkin on WhatsApp and in Booking and they never responded. I feel like this place is overpriced for the amount of stairs, with no elevator, a sofa bed, and no kitchen, and lack of communication especially about something like a fire alarm.

Just to get to reception you have to walk up three flights of stairs carrying your luggage. There is no elevator and no one to help. Then every time you come and go, you face those three flights of stairs.

Beautiful spacious room in the city centre

Room was very noisy. Staying in the city centre appartenly also means loud bars in the neighbourhood. The windows are old and don’t keep out ambient sounds but also the building itself is noisy. Wish I was given earplugs at the check in. So if you want to catch up with some sleep, I can’t advice this hotel.
