I wish I'd known that if we were arriving after a certain time then we'd need to find the key in the door and that the whole place would be dark. It was stressful, and not necessarily the property manager's fault since he had tried to communicate this to me the day of. The problem was that he was sending info through my Booking.com account and I didn't have access to that as I was traveling.

Misleading description, very disappointing

Clean apartment in excellent location in the centre of Lucca.

The information given for this apartment was very misleading and disappointing. We booked a two-bedroom apartment with balcony and paid more for this apartment than others in Lucca (€468.00 for 2 nights) because we wanted to be able to have breakfast and lunch outside. We got two bedrooms but no balcony. The main bedroom had to be accessed by going through the second smaller bedroom which had two very small single beds and no wardrobe or locker, really more suitable for two children. Roberto said that you had to request a balcony if you wanted one. This was never mentioned in any of the details, the pictures of the two-bedroom apartment included a balcony, and our confirmation listed 'Terrace’ as one of the facilities (see photos). To make matters worse, he tried to tell me that I had only booked a one-bedroom apartment and that he had given us a free upgrade, but he then checked the system again and admitted that I had booked two bedrooms. He acted as if it was our fault, just kept saying you had to request a balcony, even though this is not mentioned anywhere in the details. Another point to note is that you have to step over a large step between the two bedrooms which could be a tripping hazard, and there is also a large step into the shower which could prove a problem for anyone with mobility issues.

Spacious apartments, close to everything, bathrms need remodeling

The apartments are big and spacious and include a living room and kitchenette and good functioning AC. Roberto at front desk is friendly and helpful and had some excellent recommendations for our visit. Also we loved being close to Via Filungo shopping street and also easy access to Lucca walls for morning workouts.

The bathroom needs to be desperately remodeled! I could barely fit in shower without hitting my head. We were on the first floor and the noise from Piazza Napoleone was loud until 2am some nights. There was also a party one night in a bar across the apt with very loud music.

This is a fantastic clean apartment in the heart of the city. It is spacious with a balcony where you can relax between sightseeing, shopping and eating! There are kitchen facilities with a large fridge/freezer and a kettle for making tea/coffee. The owner, Roberto, is really friendly and helpful.

Perfect location, wonderful staff, clean and spacious. We loved it!

We had a wonderful stay. As a family of 4 we were able to spread out. The location was perfect. And the apartment was comfortable, clean, and looked out over a piazza. We enjoyed the nearby restaurants and the A/C. The ZTL made it a little tricky to park and walk to the apartment, but it was easy enough to figure it out!

Great family time in Lucca

Great modern apartment just in the middle of town. As we traveled in the peek heat of August we nominate the AC here as the best in Italy. Very appreciated! Roberto and staff also gave a great hospitality

Coming by car, don't hesitate to drive through the crowd. And you'll get a permit from owner. Public parking in Parcheggio Cittadella 7 minutes walk away.

Best location, beautiful view of the old town

Perfect location in beautiful Lucca. You can leave your car outside the old town in a parking area for free, but also drive near the accommodation to drop your luggage. Roberto, the manager in the reception, is really friendly and helpful person. The apartment is clean, safe, good air-conditioning. And there is a beautiful view from the balcony to the lively piazza.

Everything was fine. We would love to come back.

The location of the place is fantastic. Lucca is a beautiful town and Casa Paolina is situated in the middle of the best places.

The rooms were nice, but previous guests had smoked inside the apartment, and the smell lingered strongly in the fabrics, i.e. the beds, linens and sofa. This made the place feel dirty and unclean - and I was a bit concerned because the smell should wash out of linens...

Great central apartment

Great apartment with central location. Roberto was very helpful and friendly giving us the best directions from train station as some roads were closed when we arrived due to cycling competition. The apartment was super clean and ideal as a base to explore Lucca

As a party of 4 ladies the apartment could have done with another bathroom. It might have been a bit of a stretch if 6 had been staying. Not a complaint as we knew this before we went and everything else was fab

Great location. Easy to walk to from Railway Station. Very spacious property. Beneficial to have access to a heated radiator give the rainfall we experienced on the way there!

A very conveniently located apartment in the centre of Lucca with all the right facilities.

Everything was great - for us the location was great being so central so we could get around easily both in Lucca and also to the station to visit other towns and cities. The facilities of the apartment were also as we would expect for a holiday as we went out for most of our meals. It was very nice to have a balcony for a coffee in the morning.

My friend found it a little noisy at the weekend especially at night for sleeping but otherwise it was good.
