Comfort, location and service all combine for an amazing visit.

The Hotel Diana/San Marino was probably the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. The location in Lucca was perfect with its close proximity to the train station (10 minutes), its location to the core of the city, the breakfast was wonderful and the room was first class. The staff (Claudia and Nicholas) made you feel at home every time you walked into the hotel. A combination of ambiance and affordability you will not find anywhere!

Nice city, nice hotel, I recommend it.

The hotel is very well located and the staff are very attentive. I spent the New Year holidays there and only had a problem with parking, which was mentioned shortly after booking, but the staff helped me find another parking lot. They are pet-friendly and the location is amazing! The photo is from the parking lot, behind the Duomo di San Martino.

At new year's eve I had to move my car however the staff helped me to find another parking lot. It happened because the city is famous for its new year party.

A nice hotel in the centre of Lucca but don't forget to take ear plugs

Check in, check out. The staff were very helpful. It's centrally located. The room was clean.

The rooms are located on a main street with people walking past and talking. It's difficult to sleep at night if you don't have ear plugs. I can't understand why hotels such as this in an old building do not have sound insulation such as double glazed windows. Anyone walking past your room and talking within the hotel can be heard. Anyone closing their bedroom door creates a lound echo. I even heard snoring from the room located opposite me.

Quaint hotel with unique decor. Helpful reception staff, with good communication before arrival. Nice breakfast options. Walkable location to train station with luggage, and good location to town centre

Location near the main entrance to lucca is perfect. The staff are top notch and so friendly and helpful.

I couldn’t figure out the AC but I was only there for 9 hours so it was ok. Would recommend to anyone low maintenance, looking for an easy access place in Lucca that is affordable.

Great walkable city with many attractions. The Hotel is in a good location to see them.

Room and bathroom were good, well presented and modern. Location was very good. Close to many places within the walled city (food, attractions..) and easy walking distances.

Tricky to find despite good information (Maybe our GPS could have been better) Some steps to enter hotel. Some lights weren't working.

Good location for station/city centre.

Friendly staff at reception ... checked in then a short walk from there to the annex hotel. Adequate room, clean and tidy. No issues. 10 minute walk from the train station and just around the corner to a piazza with church..... and the rest of the city. I didn't have breakfast.

This was a good value. Very comfortable, and the staff were great! Exceptionally clean. The is a good variety and even American coffee offered for breakfast. The location was perfect- nothing was too far for walking, including the train station (10-15min). This hotel is part of another where the reception and breakfast are located. Our host walked us to the room and helped with the bags. No complaints!

The only small thing is that you need to go outside and down the street to the main building for breakfast. We usually get a coffee to bring back to our room and couldn’t do that.

Best Location and Best Beds

Receptionist woman was really kind. The location was amazing, it is in the old town. Room has the most comfortable beds and pillows. Room size was big. That was the best hotel in our Italy trip. Totally recommended.

Perfect location in city centre, friendly staff and exceptional bed quality : very (!) good mattress and pillows ! Very clean room and bathroom. Very convenient private parking for a good price.

Cold room while heating ( aircon ) made a lot of noise. Cold floor - we recommend adding carpets. Basic and sterile interior - red painted bathroom was disturbing. No glasses in bathroom and no coffee / water heater for instant coffee. Very noisy room - we heard noise of the street and cars and incoming / outgoing people so we used ear plugs
