We will not go back.

We usually go to ahotel by the river Inn where breakfast is included & we thought the breakfast was included at the Goldener. Breakfast was good, not better than at the hotel we use by the river. The price was very expensive, if we had known we would have had it at the hotel, It is ridicously expensive. The room was fine nothing special, the bed was far too big.

We didnt like the food at the restaurant, I had schnitzel pork the pork was tender but lacked herbs & seasoning, the batter was heavy with butter. My husband had some vegetable ( spinach & greens in starch ) balls, it had no taste. The meals were not worth the money.

Great hotel in old Innsbruck.

Perfect location - old Innsbruck right out of the door and excellent eateries all within 5 min walk, fantastic historical property with character, friendly helpful staff able to cope with British people with minimal local language. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Room was too warm even with the heating turned off, so to sleep comfortably at night we cracked open the window ( it was -3c outside). But, strangely, cigarette smoke came in, sometimes at 1 to 3 am, even though we were on the third floor.

Oustanding Hotel - perfect room and perfect location.

The main thing I look for in a hotel is how the shower in the bathroom works. Much more often than not the shower is so poorly designed that when a person takes a shower the entire bathroom floor is splashed with water, rendering the facility useless, unless the floor is wiped clean. In that respect the shower design in our room was 10/10, i.e. it was probably the best that can be. Furthermore, the bathroom was extremely spacious very comfortably accommodating two people. The room ("Traditional Double Room") was also vary spacious and perfect for for our needs. The location of the hotel is outstanding right in the Old Town. The staff is very helpful and polite. The hotel restaurant is also very good and I would recommend it.

The only thing that I would recommend (although not sure how feasible to retrofit) would be to install Bathroom Exhaust/Extractor Fan in order for the vapors from the shower to be vented out. Compared to all the positives I have for this hotel it is really minor.

Very enjoyable stay.

Location was great as it was in the Old Town and in the middle of a main Christmas market. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Charming, old fashioned, large room to go along with hotel being continually in existence since the 1300's. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was very nice despite the not so great weather. We would return another time.

The Hotel location was very good and walkable to all we wanted to do. Breakfast offered a good selection and was happily served by staff. Our room was on the end of a hall and very quiet. We ate several evening meals there as well and they were very good. The dining room and bar areas were cozy and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful.

Our view was not very interesting, but we were not in the room all that much.

Excellent location, easy checkin and decent sized room.

With the windows open it was very noisy in the street but this is of course not the fault of the hotel. Also we were charged 6 Euros for a bottle of water at dinner, which we understood from the hotel information was tap water, which the hotel prioritizes to reduce their carbon footprint.

A fascinating place to stay when in Innsbruck. The hotel is perfectly placed in the old town, rich in memories from the past and with a genuin Tyrolean atmosphere. The staff, both front desk and restaurant, were unusually helpful and highly professional. Room nice and quiet, bed comfortable.

Great location with more space than most historical cute center of European town hotels.

Location was perfect. in the middle of old town but close to drop off point by our driver. Breakfast was amazing. Staff even cooked eggs for us. Room very spacious for being in the old town. Something we didnt appreciate till our later stays in other cute older hotels in other cities. LOL! Oh, and the restaurant has amazing fried chicken!

The only thing that could have been better was the weather. LOL! But that's not their fault. We enjoyed out stay immensely

The historical significance, the age, the setting, the tributes to past guests, everything was fascinating and thrilling. It was also immaculately clean and comfortable, quiet, peaceful, and safe...even for such a busy place!

Lovely little hotel, right in the centre of Old Town Innsbruck! Super staff and a wonderful stay.

Absolutely lovely hotel, with warm, super-helpful staff, and beautiful decor. We arrived earlier than check-in to leave our bags at the hotel and go exploring, and were very thankful to find that the room was actually available early. The beds were super comfortable (although my friend and I would have preferred a more fluffy pillow). Despite not booking a larger room or suite, our room was equipped with everything you'd need, and we never felt boxed in. Location is everything: the hotel is in the perfect spot in Aldstadt so you can walk just about anywhere easily, and you're right in the centre of the 'vibe'. Brilliantly though, the hotel room was peaceful and we couldn't hear any noise outside when our windows were closed. The bathroom was well-equipped, and the soap offered smells wonderful. Breakfast was wonderful too, featuring an extensive continental buffet as well as freshly prepared egg options. We loved the bar area decor and the very friendly staff who recommended drinks - and thank you, the Sundowner drink was lovely.

I realise smoking is very 'normal' in Germany and Austria, but staff were smoking in the kitchen, and that stink then wafted into the indoor bar area. Having to skip sitting outdoors in the lovely cafes of Innsbruck because of smokers is already disappointing, but suffering that same problem indoors feels horrible. I do hope management can take this into consideration. Oh, and an extra pillow or fluffier pillow in the room would be welcome too. The tiny beanbag pillow in ours didn't fit with the super comfy bed and linens. We slept well, nonetheless though.

Superb characterful Austrian hospitality

Charming, historic old town hotel with a lovely updated & energetic vibe. Superb staff service, immaculately clean modern rooms - impressive given the age of the actual property. Love the way each room were associated with famous identities linked to the hotel and town over the era, thereby providing guests with another layer of connection to their stay. Finally, a fabulous bustling restaurant with gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces, in the heart of everything - so well done.

Ideally placed comfortable, friendly, family run hotel to use as a base to explore Innsbruck

Location in the Altstadt and it’s long long history. The past guest list is fascinating. Great restaurant and outdoor space was perfect to watch the world go by A huge strength is it is family run. Their dedication to good service and care for guests just shines through.

A small thing is we were not keen on the little collection of taxidermy on the stairs. Otherwise, all is perfect

Clean Comfy Friendly Hotel With Plenty of Austrian Charm

We really enjoyed our time in Innsbruck, what a lovely city and beautiful surroundings. We loved the hotel, it’s in a fantastic location right in the centre, on the pedestrian streets and just across the road from the market. The hotel is very characterful – very Austrian. The room was cosy and clean, the beds were very conformable and the shower was great. There are fantastic views of the mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a convenient underground car park a couple of minutes away you can use when staying at the hotel 24/7. You can park outside the hotel to onload if you get there very early or late before the crowds – otherwise the pedestrian road outside can’t be used. I’m sure we’ll come back to Innsbruck and if we do we’ll stay here again.

I had spent 3 nights in another hotel at the other side of Innsbruck town before coming to the Golden Adler and I was met with wonderful friendly staff on the desk and it was like home from home. My room was absolutely beautiful and it had air conditioning and was clean, quiet and very comfortable too. The room was so so nice - I absolutely loved it! I wish I had stayed here for all my stay (I will definitely be back to visit). I had 2 nights booked here and they were simply perfect. Also the view was brilliant too. Simply heaven.

Beautiful historic property

Location is great and convenient to parking garage. The restaurant was very good, and the breakfast was excellent. Comfortable and quiet. Beautiful historic property with unique decor. Rooms are updated with plenty of storage and comfortable beds.

Our room had a regular shower, but MIL had a tub shower that was a bit difficult to get in and out of. Otherwise comfortable.

Hotel is in a lovely old building with casement windows in the old town. Inside the access to rooms and the internal spaces are modern with well appointed modern rooms. A beautiful hotel in a great location.
