We were very lucky to find this little gem last minute. We stayed for one night during our road trip, and it turned out to be the perfect stopover, especially with three young children.
There was plenty to do: we played tennis, the kids even managed a quick swim, and we had a lovely evening dining in the beautiful garden. The B&B doesn’t have its own restaurant, but we picked up pizza from a great place just 10 minutes away and enjoyed delicious Italian gelato from the gelateria across the street.
We slept wonderfully, and the breakfast the next morning was exceptionally good and very generous.
Above all, the staff were incredibly friendly. Highly recommended.

Everything…the old world building and decor, the grounds, the pool, the breakfast and lovely staff.
Nothing but it would be amazing if there was a dinner option on the premises.

Buonvisi was everything we hoped for in a trip to the Tuscany region, with fantastic views of the gorgeous Italian landscape all around.
The location is excellent. It’s a 10-minute drive from Lucca town centre but nicely ‘in’ the Tuscan countryside.
There are a few local hotels and restaurants within walking distance if you don’t fancy driving into Lucca.
The staff were brilliant which helped to make the trip so successful for us. They really couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful with advice on places to visit (both local and further afield). At breakfast they also catered brilliantly for my gluten free requirement.
Being a 500 year old Villa (approx), some bits naturally have a certain patina, but that only added to the charm for us. It has a real sense of history and grandeur which we loved.
There is nothing we didn't like.

The house and the countryside around are
very beautiful.
The breakfast people are very nice and efficient.
The swimming pool is nice.
The family room for 5 is actually 2 separate rooms
with only 1 bathroom in the corridor, without any intimacy.
The rooms are dark, the door handle was broken and
we had to repair it ourselves.
