The central location was great. The owner very communicative and friendly. This is a very quirky typical Italian apartment style building and the B & B is right at the top, 4 floors up, there is a very small elevator, I preferred to take the stairs ! It is very olde world.
I found the entrance a little daunting as a solo traveller i arrived in the evening and the hallway was dark, I couldn't find light switches so used my phone torch to find my way. I was a little nervous I have to say, however the owner was super friendly and gave me advice about where to eat etc. I was in the attic room.. the stairs were steep, and the beams low.. this didn't bother me but may not suit some. On a positive the view across the rooftops in the early morning sunshine was fabulous.

I had a fantastic stay at this charming and historic hotel. The building itself is full of character and perfectly located right in the heart of the old city, making it easy to explore everything on foot. The host, Claudio was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and overall, the stay was excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
A bit hard to find and not easy to access with luggage - noisy street at night but can’t help that when you are staying in centre of old city

The location is centrally located in the city center. Walk from the station is less than 10 minutes. Rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and a nice breakfast is available.

We highly recommend this place!
It’s located right in the heart of Lucca’s historic center, with amazing views from the rooms. On top of that, the owner is incredibly kind—he prepares breakfast himself and is always happy to help with anything you might want to know or do in Lucca.
We were very satisfied with our stay!

The owner isn’t always at the property, but is very kind and let us enter the room early. Location is very convenient, right in the center. We left our car in the parking lot by the train station, and the walk is less than 10 minutes
The room had a/c so it was great to refresh during summer days
The hotel is outdated but overall ok for short stays, the main problem was the shower, it was really small and the door didn’t cover all the area so it was a challenge to shower without making a mess. If you have a light sleep, avoid a street side room on the weekend.

There was a elevator
The bathroom had a panel which one could see through into the bathroom from the corridor... no privacy

The location, The gentleman who owns the facility and lives there very helpful and nice. Great breakfast!
The floors, could use a little maintenance for the locks of the rooms, if they do not clise well they leave you trapped in the rooms.

Place full of character in brilliant location inside the walls of historic Lucca. Decent breakfast too.
Mind your head on the beams in the attic rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay at Al Tuscany - mostly due to the excellent service and friendliness of our host Claudio. We made a very late, last minute booking and he was immediately in contact via Whatsapp with instructions. He further helped with bike rentals and excellent restaurant recommendations. We decided to stay an extra night! Great location for access to all touristy things in Lucca. The suite was a great choice for our family with a large bed for the adults and the kids shared a double bed. Claudio very kindly brought me some gluten free muffins after I had stated on the booking form I would prefer a gluten free option for breakfast if possible. Highly recommend.
We found we couldn't open the main door from the street with the key provided but we could call to be let inside the building.

Very authentic B&B that gives you a true Italian feeling.
Depending on your length, one of the attic rooms might not be too easy, but for us =<178 cm it was not an issue :)

The location was great and Claudio the manager/owner was a sweetheart! He made sure that we were comfortable and everything was ok. He gave us great tips on where to eat good Lucchese food. I did not stay at this location. He ended up transferring us to his other B&B - la Violette
On La Violette our room had no AC so we had to keep the windows opened which was noisy.

Location, friendly staff, good breakfastMy
My room was up some very steep stairs, maybe guests should be warned IF they are in rooms needing stairs. Other rooms have a lift.

The location was perfect for exploring Lucca within the old city walls. Also within 10minutes of the train station. We loved how old the rooms were, and kitted out with cool antiques. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic host who looked after me and recommended a great restaurant (Thanks)
Great location, Loved my quirky room in the attic
Easy walk to the station
I supposed the bathroom had a lower ceiling and had to bend to use it HOWEVER I was offered alternative options, but I wanted to stay and enjoyed the novelty, so it didn't matter at all. And it was in the attic after all!

Claudio was a wonderful host. He was having a little trouble with staff for cleaning but I'm sure that has been corrected now.
Just the cleanliness.

Excellent central location in the historic town. Claudio and his team were very welcoming and friendly. A good continental breakfast was available. Extremely comfortable bed in a decent sized room. Daily housekeeping was excellent. Overall very good value.
15 minute delay in obtaining access on first arrival.
Some issues one day with water pressure in the bathroom.
Not a problem for me - but beware the steep, open tread stairs to the attic rooms. As the name suggests the attic rooms are at the top of the house with sloping roofs - could be an issue for taller people (say over 175cm, 5ft 10 in).

The owner was very accommodating, first I booked the room for the wrong night and he let me change nights without a charge and then I arrived earlier than I said I was going to and he let me in. Very nice man.

The hospitality was natural and exceptional. Claudio was unbelievably helpful. We where traveling with a baby and he offered to drive us to our car and collect our bags with us, then the next day helped us lug our bags back out of the city. Naturally a great host and genuinely a perfect person to be in hospitality. He made our experience in the city. I would recommend staying with him to anyone.
I liked everything. It’s a boutique B&B.

The hotel is located in the heat of the old town of Lucca. everything around you can reach in a few minutes by walking . It is the best location ever.
The house itself is very authentic, the first floor is from the 12th century, an entry doors from the 15th century, rooftop is from 17th century. My room was in a romantic attic with an authentic roof. The towers of Luka could be seen through the window. The house has an elevator. The dining room has a beautifully painted ceiling, like in palace...
The owner of this property is an architect, a very interesting and friendly man, he treated me to breakfast, showed me his historic house and even arranged a free bike for me for the whole day, thanks to him I got to see the beautiful villas in the hills around Lucca. I am very grateful to him for all.
everything was perfect :)

Lucca is a beautiful little town, which combines the charm of the Italian province with a sophisticated vibe (at least the area within the wall, the part I know..) - and the hotel mirrors that.
- located in a typical Italian backyard, but inside surprisingly modern, even with an exclusive touch
- big apartment (not only a room), with an infrastructure which leaves you perfectly happy (shower, WLAN,..)
- a few minutes walk from the train station
- friendly staff (english speaking)
- as far as I remember it even was the cheapest hotel for our date
It was our only Lucca booking, therefore we can't compare, and a stay for only 1 night, therefore with a limited experience (room cleaning,..). But I have no doubts about the overall quality.
