Claudio is the perfect host, accommodating and a truly kind person to talk with plenty of stories to share. We had to stay an additional day because of personal issues with our trip and Claudio allowed us to keep the room with a very short notice.
This for me puts Al Tuscany above many of other places where the only interaction a guest has is via some message on a chat for getting a pin code for the door.
The place itself gives a vibrant feeling of staying in a city like Lucca, with decorated ceelings and antiques all over the place. Being at the third floor of an ancient palance means having an astonishing view over the roofs of the city.
Being deeply in the historical center means that parking can be problematic. The closest available parking within the walls is roughly 6/8 minutes of walking from Al Tuscany and being in a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) means that is not possible to get close with the car to leave the luggage. Something to consider for people travelling with many things.

I had a fantastic stay at this charming and historic hotel. The building itself is full of character and perfectly located right in the heart of the old city, making it easy to explore everything on foot. The host, Claudio was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and overall, the stay was excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
A bit hard to find and not easy to access with luggage - noisy street at night but can’t help that when you are staying in centre of old city

The location is centrally located in the city center. Walk from the station is less than 10 minutes. Rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and a nice breakfast is available.

The central location was great. The owner very communicative and friendly. This is a very quirky typical Italian apartment style building and the B & B is right at the top, 4 floors up, there is a very small elevator, I preferred to take the stairs ! It is very olde world.
I found the entrance a little daunting as a solo traveller i arrived in the evening and the hallway was dark, I couldn't find light switches so used my phone torch to find my way. I was a little nervous I have to say, however the owner was super friendly and gave me advice about where to eat etc. I was in the attic room.. the stairs were steep, and the beams low.. this didn't bother me but may not suit some. On a positive the view across the rooftops in the early morning sunshine was fabulous.
