Great choice for location and a short stay, in a beautiful building with charmless, minimal rooms.

The location was outstanding. Easy access from the train station. Building was very nice from the outside. Clean room. Friendly and responsive staff and good coffee for the breakfast. Good hot water and pressure for the shower. Free wi-fi. Ok on cost, but we almost felt like it was the best room in a hostel.

Room had no amenities - very little usable storage. Bed for a couple was 2 twin (US size) mattresses pushed together without a mattress pad over the seam where the two came together. Not comfortable or good for a couple. Bathroom was tiny. It was one of those pre-fab units that they stick in old buildings- all colored glass walls and had large glass slider (7' x 7' )that opened to the room. If used at night, the entire room was flooded with light and you can hear everything going on. The neighborhood was very loud into the late night/early morning on weekends.

Lovely city, lovely people

The rooms were very good, just a little street noise from the bars/restaurants below (but earplugs were thoughtfully provided!). Breakfast was substantial, lots of choices, and excellent coffee. Great central location, easy access to buses and the train (and the famous clock).

Room very small and I was confused with booking for two people. No air and room on third floor overlooked a very loud street scene until two AM.

Comfortable hotel in a central location

Friendly staff, central location, clean room, comfy bed & ear plugs & plug in fan available. Parking is not far way.

Very noisy street (in a good way the place came alive in the evening and was buzzing) but we couldn’t sleep with the window open, and it was very warm. But we were there at the weekend so it may not always be like that.

Fantastic location

Fantastic location, decent breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff, pillow menu! Would recommend.

The acoustics. The street somewhat carries sound and with an open window, you’d say you’re sitting in one of the restaurants, not on the third floor. Closing the window cuts the noise to a surprisingly low level, but Summer nights could mean warm nights. This however comes with the location and that makes the tradeoff well worth it.

Not a hotel, this is worst than a hostel

Nothing

To start with I arrived at 11pm and there was no reception to actually get my key to my room. I sat outside for a long time knocking on the door. In the end a guest went out and I managed to get in. I found an emergency number which was inside the hotel, so you can’t see it to call. I called the number I have from my reservation and no answer. In the end some nice local people helped to call the emergency number and I managed to get a key which was left at another hotel 5 mins away walk. So as tired as I was I had to go there and back. I absolutely hated this expletive and I can say it is the worst time I ever had with a hotel. Inside was hot and ugly room

Bern hotel historic center

Right in center of old town. Also had a flat fee for public parking. Staff, especially man who greeted me were exceptionally nice.

Nothing in the hotels control. No AC but provided a fan. There was a metal band playing which could be heard but ended relatively early.

Very great stay

The hotel breakfast was absolutely fantastic, we enjoyed it every morning and it helped us save money versus finding local breakfast options. No complaints about the room, the beds and facilities were clean and comfortable. They were able to accommodate our request for pillows without feathers, which was extremely helpful. The hotel is located in an absolutely fantastic location.

Only complaints would be the price and the room size.

Breakfast really poor

The location is great, just in the town centre, but quiet.

We searched and booked the hotel because it was a parking option, but when we arrived they told us we have to use the council public parking and pay for it. The breakfast was also very, very poor. No toaster available, no olive oil, I have to ask the member of the staff to refill orange juice and provide more bread after minutes of no activity. The breakfast is not poor quality or variety, it was just inexistent. It is a shame, as the rooms were ok, but the breakfast experience was horrendous

All in all a very nice hotel.

Central location, within a walking distance from the train station. Very nice breakfast. Room small, but equipped with everything that one may need during a short stay. WiFi worked well. The hotel has some kind of agreement with the city of Bern to offer free tickets for public transport. Very handy in times of bad weather.

I didn’t like the pillow, it was as if half of the filling was missing. Walls are thin, so you can hear neighbours walking (luckily there were no noisy ones during my stay).

Great stop to visit Bern, great jumping off point to walk in all directions of city.

Perfect location, breakfast included, ice machine available (unfortunately it broke our last night there), comfortable bedding.
