Incredible stay!

Fantastic nude-friendly stay! The views from the room and the newly upgraded pool were spectacular. The room was perfectly laid out with a comfy bed, a bidet, mini fridge and plenty of space for suitcases. Max was incredibly helpful with all our bookings and recommendations. The vibe was chill and friendly, and as a couple in our 30's, the stairs and 8-10 minute walk into town were no problem at all. We’d definitely come back!

The place is ok but has seen better days.

Location was good, as was the food but overpriced. Air conditioning worked well and the room was well laid out, and a comfortable bed.

Everything feels tired. The place needs some money spent on giving it a refresh. It wasn’t cheap either.

The staff were friendly and did their jobs well. The view from many rooms and common areas is lovely. The restaurant has vegetarian options.

Beautiful rooms and view

The setting and design of the hotel is beautiful. The view is amazing, the rooms are well designed and you are just a short walk from the beach. There was an issue with the water at one point but the staff were very helpful and got it fixed.

Nothing. Just worth noting that the restaurant closes at 5pm. Also that there are regular infrastructure issues in Oaxaca, e.g. electrical and water problems. The hotel works hard to manage these but they may occur.

Perfectly located Zipolete hideaway.

Loved the private, quiet location melding into the cliff face a short walk away from the main Zipolete beach. I also loved my spacious, airy and stylish, well appointed room. The bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in and the view over the green plants and trees to the sea, priceless Max and his team are exceptional. Everyone super friendly and happy to be working together. Breakfast down by the pool is the best. I’d make a return booking in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

Delightful stay thanks to the staff

The staff were so helpful and made my stay even better - special thanks to Max, Pablo and Alan for their hospitality. Also( Breakfast was so good and also the bed was super comfortable. And gorgeous view from the hotel.

Everything was great, but to make it even better, I’d recommend the hotel install a stronger wifi, blackout curtains, (and this is very nitpicky) and for breakfast serve the salty food before the sweet.

extremely clean, great staff, beautiful view, free parking, a/c, bidet, hot water, clothing optional allowed me to sun and moon bathe nude so it was wonderful

pool was is disrepair and looked dirty, the private pool wasn't a pool it was a tub but the water wasn't chlorinated so I didn't use it, just a few details about room like refrigerator rack was left out on counter, there was a dead fly on the table by the sofa, the towels smelled sour, the lamps were all unplugged, the bedside lamps emitted extreme heat, the a/c was difficult to maintain a temperature (typical of mini splits), no onsite dinner

Beautiful place with amazing views and sound of the sea!

Would definitely return. The AC is the best I ever had; it cooled my room without a noise and without me feeling it blowing at all. Note that the beach is NOT swimmable: it’s dangerous. The pool is refreshing and very clean. However there are many small details of improvement, that a 4 star hotel should have, hence the slightly lowered rating; The bed looks so luxurious but is soooo hard…I had neck pain every day. A Wellpur-mattress topper would have fixed this, and better quality pillows. The wifi is quite weak in the room. The room lacks some amenities for women(hair conditioner, hair dryer). The shower was never hot, i thought this is normal in the area but afterwards i checked into a low standard house where i had hot water. Some electrical plugs/lamps were not working. A ”do not disturb” sign is missing in the room, it could be a small rope and sign to close from the main stairs towards the terrace. The cleaning team and the bar waiter are respectful and hardworking and excellent. But apart from them there are a lot of different staff all the time walking around the pool,bar,stairs next to my room, which makes me less comfortable in my clothing optional paradise. I also noted most guests were not nude, I was the only one, but I stayed in the semi-privacy of my terrace mostly. Regardless of all these suggestions and notes, I loved my stay, it was excellently clean including the outdoor furniture. I loved the decor all over the main areas, and the view and paintings and iguanas and the sound of the sea. And of course the wonderful welcoming by receptionist Max, Tak!

No beach front, NO HOT WATER TO SHOWER NO WIFI POOL DIRTY

The staff was unprofessional. Like the staff said “ the manager doesn’t care about anyone that is not a 20 year old mexican fit guy. The manager didn’t care about any issues , infact he was part of the issue. There was no hot water in the room, the hotel is not beach front. It’s is a 10min walk into town. The hotel is on a hill. You have to walk 3 set of stairs 200+ step down and up. Save your money and stay anywhere else. The hotel is at best a 3 out of 10 and the staff and manager just make it worst. The manager insulted my friends and over all the manager had a nasty attitude. Unless you were like the staff said “ a 20 year old mexican guy” he didn’t care. The pool was dirty. The manager was in the pool 3 out of the 7 days I was there with his friends partying. When we told the staff about issues they stated that they will tell the manager and the manager never came to us. Of course not all the staff is rude some staff is great and nice but they are scared of the manager. A staff me never told me me that in order to get hired there you have to be young and the manager has to like your appearance. Not a good place to stay. The hotel is full of stairs and honestly you could get a better rate and better location anywhere else. NO HOT WATER TO SHOWER WITH. THE WIFI DOESNT WORK. To finish when I tried to check out they tired to over charge me. Be aware

Relaxing but Close to the Action

The property is a perfect location away from the parties but close enough for convenience. The private beach is worth it alone. Room 9, 15, 14, 13 have the best views. The staff is 24/7 and very helpful. The rooms are modest but also very roomy and comfortable each with a view (although some are obstructed). Having a bar & restaurant on property was also welcomed when I only wanted to relax.

The property is great and is in the process of upgrading some features. I wish the restaurant had longer hours if only for snacks, and an ATM machine would have made a great addition. I also wish there were beach chair like the hotel next door had but I’m sure they’ll consider it.

This place is magical

We were returning customers and this was our second stay at this property. We had very comfortable and relaxing eight nights at this hotel. The staff was fantastic, especially the room caretaker Pablo, who went above an beyond his tasks (I hope the name is correct). Also, he had perhaps the best English out of everyone there. It is worth considering dining there, because the food quality in the hotel restaurant is one of the best in Zipolite. WiFi quality has improved since our last stay, but unfortunately it was still not great. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

4 Star Accommodations; 5 Star Service in Rustic Zipolite

This property has stunning views. The rooms are exceptionally large. The rooms have air conditioning. The rooms are very well appointed. The property has a great swimming pool. The property has a full dining service, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves cocktails throughout the day. This property is also clothing optional. This is one of the few properties that has a boiler to generate hot water. We would definitely book this property again over the other gay and clothing optional hotel offerings.

The property requires a good hike up the mountain at the far end of the Zipolite bay totally opposite from Playa de Amor. It is a good 2 KM to walk from Villa Aikia to Playa de Amor. It's good exercise. With the extreme heat in early May, we had to take a taxi at times. The hot water comes and goes. Often it's not needed with the Zipolite heat, however, we are not fans of cold showers, no matter how hot it is outside. That is Zipolite life and you simply have to buck it up for everything else that is wonderful at the Villa Aikia.

Very nice hotel! Very professional all the personal... the check in was quick... the restaurant is very good! The front desk personal are very attentive, the chef is fantastic They created an amazing surprise dinner for my spouse's birthday. We have already booked our next trip!

Amazing stay at Villa Aikia

A truly fantastic experience. A lovely hotel with a great pool area overlooking the ocean. We stayed in a beautiful room. Great food and cocktails at the bar/restaurant. And what really made the difference was the exceptional staff - Max and the team were amazing, so kind, friendly and welcoming. We would love to return soon.

Villa Aikia was a great stay, the staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant has a delish food. We loved the little beach too.

It’s a bit far from the beach and town, I didn’t enjoy the evening walk back with so many stray dogs around.

Beautiful beach hotel

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful big room, amazing staff and the location is just a dream, away form the hustle and bustle but still you can walk everywhere in town. I travelled by myself as a solo female traveller and really enjoyed my time, also felt super safe walking by myself in the dark. The beach is a dream, if you like rocks like me. Food was delicious too. Staff is AMAZING. I will stay there again in the future.
