Very nice view, super clean rooms and nice & helpful staff.
Quite a few steps you need to take to get up there, a little pricey

Beautiful location, close to the beach, beautiful architecture and interiors, the shower is amazing
There was no way to make coffee in your own room, the breakfast was just ok

This is a very unique place. Other than most of the new developments in San Agustinillo this place respects nature and its surroundings. It’s not invasive at all. I love the architecture and all the Mexican details about it.

We visited Monte Uzulu in February. It is located in a middle of San Agustinillo town, close to the beach. The property is surrounded by trees and is quiet. The room is small and simple, but it is well-designed and is sufficient for two people. The balcony is a great feature, overlooking trees and ocean. We enjoyed the breakfast served in an outside dining area. They also provide organic hair and skin products as they are environmentally conscious. The owner, Alan was very helpful providing the information on places to visit, and arranging taxi service. We highly recommend Uzulu.
Nothing we didn’t like here. Some people so commented about the access from the street, but we had no issues.

Lovely rooms, with the option to sleep with the sound of the ocean still around. A bit up hill, away from the street life. Great team, nice welcoming team, all great if you want hang around in this little quiet hippie like town …we enjoyed it
Good to know that it is close to other hotels and the way you have to close your eyes for a lot of ugliness. But, being up there it is nice, a bit new age atmosphere, like the whole village breaths :-) all good

The green views are nice. The breakfast is good and located in a nice area. The products of the hotel are fine.
We asked for a special mosquito net on the bed - and it's great that they have this available, it saved our lives because they are everywhere and the Dengue epidemic is strong. However the way it was put, it makes it a little suffocating. This is something that should be by default available for every bed and well designed, given the room price and the vegetation that's in front of the Hotel. It's inevitable that you'll have mosquitoes everywhere.
Rooms are really tiny, to go there you need to follow a pedestrian street that is full of drunkens and trash.
There isn't much light beside the outdoors, so you feel a bit like in a closet.
Found the hotel totally overpriced for what you get (lots of stairs, small room, no pool, smell of the water treatment, etc.)
It's cool looking, but in the end it's one of those hotels that are more instagrammable than really comfortable IMO.

excellent service by front desk management, awesome design and atmosphere, great breakfast

This hotel is an absolute gem. I almost conflicted to give it such a great review because I selfishly want to keep it as a hidden gem. The staff were beyond helpful. The breakfast was plenty of delicious food and the restaurant atmosphere is incredible. Anyone that has a gripe is being a Karen.
One thing I would be aware of is that, at least our room, did not have AC if you are traveling the hottest months. That being said, Mazunte is not really a place to expect that…

it’s so peaceful

the rooms are very beautiful
Some of the lamps were not working. The staff knows it as they showed us around but didn’t bother to fix it.
The area around the hotel looks more like a construction site with garbage lying around (you’d think it’s a quick fix to clean it).
The free breakfast is a scam. You get a bowl of fruit without yoghurt/granola and a little biscuit accompanied by the menu with decent breakfast dishes you’d have to pay for. An egg doesn’t cost much, especially in comparison to the price they charge per night. You can get better hotels or Airbnb’s for that price

the rooms are very well designed, comfortable bed and beautiful semi outdoor bathroom with a tub
It's not located on the beachfront, it's not even 40 m away, it's around 3-5 min walk up the stairs across the main road.
also, not all the room have a sea view which is quite disappointing

The design of the hotel, the view., the great food.
It wasn't clear what was and was not included in the breakfast. The space for yoga was not suitable at all.

Staff were lovely especially Jose. Hotel nicely designed.
we stayed in the bottom floor rooms which had no privacy at all. With there being no door on the bathroom and only having slated doors onto an open balcony that everyone walked past it felt like you were very exposed. it doesn’t seem right that these rooms are the same price as the top floor.
The lack of proper doors also meant security felt very limited and of course we got bitten by mosquitos.
we only had one bedside light and the bathroom light didn’t work so the room was dark and very small with suitcases/bags in the way.
I would only stay if we got a top floor room and even then I think it was very expensive considering the size of the room and lack of shared spaces.

Staff was amazing! They really went above and beyond and really made the stay special and memorable. Really the best beach in the area and one of the nicest stays you can find.

incredible views with beautifully designed rooms and brilliant staff. We appreciated that it was also an eco resort and that they were thoughtful about the environment
Nothing! It was amazing

The room is beautiful, the view from the balcony is stunning (we we’re staying in room number 9 on the upper floor). The staff is really friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Julio who arranged a special breakfast for my wife when she got a food poisoning. Communication is easy and quick via WhatsApp. Before arrival they will already send you a list with tips. There are nice amenities in the room, included a aftersun. We will miss the calmness and the sound of the waves during the night. Definitely come back to this place.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing. Coffee/tea, a fruit bowl and a small cookie or bread. They have a menu where you can choose from but you have to pay extra for it. We ordered the banana/cinnamon pancakes who were really good. For the price of the room I think it would be fair if guests can choose one dish from the breakfast menu, as all the dishes are shareable.

the room is amazing! Beautiful view and interior, nice soaps etc. Nothing to complain about. Staff is also nice, friendly and helpful. This made the experience great, and something worth going back for.
Less great was the fact that the hotel was under construction, so there were missing som facilities such as chill area, pool, etc. but this is under its way.
the included breakfast is more like a snack than actual breakfast: a fruit bowl and a cake. But the breakfast you can buy in the restaurant is really good.
also, it should be mentioned that there are no doors to the bathroom, so a little lack of privacy here.

Beautiful contemporary design and good location - quiet but a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Rooms all have nice terraces with great views towards the sea. The concierge were very helpful and had excellent recommendations.
There are no doors on the bathroom

gem of the beaten track in between hectic zipolite and mazunte both just minutes away by raxi
didn’t bother me but can understand that this property is hard to acces by people who are not fit as its located on a hill

I loved everything! beautiful sounds and view, as well as exceptional service. Defineatly a place to come back
I loved everything! however close by there is a construction so during the day there were times it was loud

Friendly staff, very nice decoration, very good body product provided and beautiful bathroom.
The breakfast. It was suppose to be included in the reservation but it contain only couple of fruit and a biscuit. For the price, we expected something more generous.

great simple rooms, very clean. delicious breakfast.
no place to hang out other than room
7.0 / 10.0
Tranquility, perceived proximity to nature, view, stylish rooms, nice beach towels, very attentive concierge
The included breakfast option was a joke considering the price - it seems they know this cause they put a menu with extra options on the table which you would have to pay for which I find rather irritating. If they cannot include the whole breakfast menu, I would at least expect one item from the menu per guest. Again: this is about expectations that get created through the price the hotel asks for.
Also, a pool can be somehow considered a standard item for hotels in this price class, but is lacking here. A music box in the room would have been nice.
