The hotel is really beautiful, some of the staff are amazing like Mario, Edwin and they really did there best for us to have the best experience.
The experience at Hotel Escondido was overall okay. Last two days were awful due to a privatisation without notice of the hotel from a group with kids and dogs. The hotel is supposely adult only and we would have never come and pay that price if we knew kids would be running around the pool, yelling by the pool, entering without control in our private bungalow. This should not be allowed and hotel staff didn’t do anything to apologize or compensate.
However, as many people commented before, Angel the receptionnist is just extremely rude and impolite…
The restaurant experience is average by how slow is the service, but food is okay. Quite pricy for what is it, and lack of variety if you stay more than 3 days and have allergies or something. Wine are extremely expensive. We paid over 300€ for a Moet Chandon bottle… no comment.
Also, because of the group thingy, they forced us to leave the hotel before 2PM. We were informed the day before….
Also, the loud music with bad curation, at breakfast is a turn-off.
Unfortunately, not sure we will come back, really the adult only hotel with 5 kids running around and 4 dogs barking non stop is a NO GO.

Nature infused, tranquil, beautiful.
Would only recommend to nature-loving friends! The room feels very open to the elements.
If you want luxury but with an earthy feel, this is the place.
Food is brilliant but a bit more choice would be great. Also nice to see a menu at dinner - even if it is a set one.
Would recommend for a short stay not a long one.

Great location, and the design and setup of the hotel is good overall.
The facilities are poorly maintained for a hotel that has so much potential to stand out. The service is mediocre, understaffed and undertrained. The restaurant food quality is low and pales in comparison to the other two properties that we stayed at with the same price point (Kyaia and Casona Sforza). The rooms are open air (poorly screened) so you get acoustic transfer from other rooms and lots of bugs and lizards in the room. If you’re okay with that it can be manageable- if not, run.

Locatie
The cabins were worn out, airco not sufficient for the heat (still 30+ Celsius during the night). Sewer smell in bathroom, sinks not running, pumpsystem in plungepool not working, end so on.
Besides it wasn't clean, and cleaningservice was slow and uninefficient.
The rest of the staff very un interested
and un attentive. Seems that they were more busy with the guest who still had to arrive then with the guest we were already there. Was weird.

It was a lovely quiet and beautiful setting.
The dinner in the evening was terrible.
It was similar to a meal on a flight. Both choice and quality.
Service was really bad too. I needed to ask for a drinks menu, and a drink. This was after my starter had arrived.
The main course was instant plate swapping as soon as I finished the starter.
That makes you feel like you’re rushed.
Consequently I didn’t want to dine on my second evening, as the experience was not enjoyable.
This is really bad for a hotel that is more than USD 400 per night.
Other smaller things…. The cookies that were put out for bedtime…. They were covered in bugs.
Surely with an open ‘nature’ place, exposed food is not a good idea.
Perhaps if they were wrapped then better?

can’t do better than this hotel. right on the beach, beautifully designed, great food, wonderful staff.
we stayed here a few years ago and it was about 2/3 or 1/2 the price it is now. post covid everything is more expensive, but it’s starting to get to that point where it’s just a bit *too* expensive to justify.

Loved the design and interiors. Loved the incredible lap pool. Loved the beach.
The check-in process took a long time and there was confusion about payments taken.

Beautiful setting by the beach and SO tranquil. Great sunsets in particular.
The bungalow was tasteful and very clean. We even had a small private pool outside our room.
Delicious food for dinner included with the room.
The staff were all hugely attentive and accommodating.
The location of the hotel is very remote! Great for relaxation but a bit limiting after a while as you are 45-50 mins from Puerto Escondido and there is nothing in the vicinity. We stayed closer to Puerto Escondido afterwards which was a welcome contrast.
The included breakfast was very simple - just cereal, fruit and yoghurt which was nice but not extravagant.

Amazing, intimate retreat away from crowds. Excellent service and great food. Rooms are slightly older than other Habita properties but comfortable.
Breakfast buffet (included in rate) was extremely limited.

location, food, service, music, ambiance and privacy are 5 stars
They didn’t give any complimentary birthday acknowledgment welcome. Bikes need maintenance and spa/sauna does not work

Oceanfront secluded private paradise. We never wanted to leave Hotel Escondido. The ocean felt like it was entirely ours. The sunsets and views were tremendous. The decor is laid back and modern, but yet welcoming and cozy.
I could’ve spent hours watching the marine life jumping out of the water while endlessly observing the waves rolling in and out and listening to the crush of the waves. The pool is deceptively big and perfectly situated to soak in the ocean view.
The staff are very attentive and there to assist with your every need. They were happy to assist with tours, reservations and taxi service. The food was fantastic, there are endless delicious options.
The rooms are a good size and you have the option to slide the doors open for views of the mountains and the ocean. The landscape and location of Hotel Escondido is so inspiring.
Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
Nothing.
