    Wonderful rainforest-style getaway
Lovely B&B that feels like a romantic rainforest getaway. Close to the turtle sanctuary, and off the beaten track from the main part of town. Loved coming home for an evening swim after dinner. Hosts were lovely and welcoming, and made a great omelette. Privacy in the rooms is given by a private entrance enclosed with greenery with just a screen door - kind of an indoor outdoor vibe, we liked this but if you prefer full enclosed privacy that might be something to consider.
No air con just a fan (due to indoor/outdoor nature of the room) which was fine for the night time temperature during our visit but if it was much hotter over night it might be less comfortable.

    Fabulous
Luisa and Paul were perfect hosts and welcomed us warmly to their lovely home. Both their guest rooms are simple, stylish and comfortable, surrounded by lush vegetation. There was plenty of hot water and a large comfy bed. The garden and pool are beautiful. We felt cocooned in a canopy of tall green plants, full of birdsong, perfect for swimming, reading and relaxing. Paul’s organic breakfasts were splendid and varied each day, with plenty of coffee and lots of fresh fruit. A real highlight was getting to know Paul and Luisa a little, which made our stay really special. They gave us a really good feel for the area and also recommended a couple of excellent local restaurants within walking distance; for many others and our favourite beaches we took taxis, which were easy to find and cheap. We found it very hard to leave this calm oasis and would love to return!

Beautiful villa, close by car to everything
Beautiful serene villa near Bacocho. The family and staff were lovely. The rooms reminded me of Santorini with the polished concrete. The pool is great for kids because it’s shallow. It’s removed from the touristic La Punta area but everything is within 15 min by car.
A couple of things to keep in mind: 1) there is no ac and the room is open, which is not an issue in terms of temperature, since it’s breezy and shaded, but if you are sensitive to outside noise it can be an issue because there’s a tennis court right next door (or you might run into guests with crying babies…like mine). 2) the shower is right in the room without a curtain or door, which is nice for couples but might be an issue if you’re traveling with people you don’t want to see naked.

We recommend Villa Maria Bed and Breakfast for future accommodations.
Luisa and Paul were great hosts. They were resourceful and shared wonderful stories and information about the area. Villa Maria Bed and Breakfast offers a charming and welcoming stay, combining comfort with a personal touch. The rooms are clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, creating a homely atmosphere.
The neighborhood dog barks 70% of the time when we are in our room. Another improvement is the Wi-Fi available in the suite. The Wi-Fi has a weak signal, and sometimes, there is no Wi-Fi during the evening.

    fantastic, would stay again
Great family. Very welcoming and such a cool way to stay in a place and get to know more about an area. Hosts were kind and flexible. pickle ball courts were great with shade cover and lights. Short walk to beach.
not much. a bit of construction around area but that is the way things are… didn’t bother us

    Pleasant
The courtyard is a little oasis and the pool refershing. There is a pickle ball court attched to the bnb that Louisa and Paul own - and I assume avilable for rent to play. The chaises are not the most comfortable with only wood, yet the sofas are comfortable. Louisa is gentle and kind, and I had the pleasure of meeting her daughter one morning. Paul was either working on site or off, and ordered medicine when I was quite ill. Unfortunately, the medicine came hours later when no one was present to recieve it (Mexico time). The breakfasts were different each morning.
The location is unfortunately very loud during the day (construction) and night (highway noise). This is amplified by the fact there are no sound barriers on the room - no windows, only screens. Sleeping outside my room was my best option for some quiet rest. At night I could hear another resident struggling through the night with blowing thier nose often. I was concerned all my bathroom trips when I became quite ill would wake everyone. One of the nights the customary Mexican burning smell was strong and it became difficult to breath - the lack of windows made it impossible to quarantine that dust/debris to the outside. At night I was cold, and while I had requested a blanket at check in, it just didn't happen. I was exhausted from the lack of sleep and feeling uncomfortable. Then I got very sick for my first time in Mexico, after years of traveling through Mexico. Communication was challenging. It wasn't explained when I was ill there was any alternative breakfast available, even when explaining I had bad stomach pains to the kitchen staff. When I went to check out with Louisa, she offered me oats, but at that point I was headed to the airport and just hoped to keep what was in, in and not explode on my flight out of town. However, the morning I left, the staff did honor a request to boil eggs I had purchased, for the road, without hesitation.
