Could've been almost perfect if it wasn't for the noise

- Hotel Dezcalzo is perfectly located right next to the beach, with 6 houses embedded in the greenery. -The rooms are spacious and comfortable. - staff is friendly and service minded

-Hard techno pumping from a neighbouring beachclub all night until 3-6am effectivly preventing you from getting any sleep

Lovely hotel worth the money in the middle of Zipolite Beach.

Lovely stylish room with 2 extremely comfortable large double beds. Delicious food in the restaurant on the beach.

Swimming pool is fine and shady but a problem with bird’s mess everywhere No monitoring of guest’s sun-beds on the beach so anyone seems to be able to use them.

I honestly have no complaints. It's a bit of a drive from the airport, but that keeps most of the more undesirable tourists away; so that's a bonus for us!

Amazing, relaxing and so enjoyable

Beautiful rooms in a beautiful location, just steps away from the beach. Great hotel restaurant and bar too. The spa was easy to book and very enjoyable. We enjoyed the pool very much as well. Staff were fantastic and so helpful.

The room was quite dark, so better lighting would help a lot.

The location and rooms are great.

We were very unfortunate and during our stay there was a music rave next to the hotel almost every night. It made it difficult to sleep. It seems that it happens in special dates, as new year. It is not the hotel fault but I would consider to go back in any big date.

Great place to stay but stay away from their cheap expensive wine

The location close to the beach was very nice with plenty of vegetations. We liked the rustic vibe of the room and surroundings. Nice bar and restaurant with good food.

The bathtub drain plug wasn't sealing so we couldn't take a bath. The water of the pool was cold caused by surrounding trees all around the pool and leaves were all over the deck. While it is the low season they should consider giving the pool deck and surrounding a fresh coat of paint. It was my wife birthday so they offered us flowers and a bottle of wine which we appreciated, I assumed it was complimentary since they never mentioned the price so we got hit with a 900 pesos charge for a cheap bottle of rosé when we checked out. Like other reviews mentioned the Disco next door starts playing at around 11pm and plays all night into the early morning. You hear that bass stumping all night long.

Almost Paradise

Great room and patio size, with a hammock. Comfortable bed with a good mosquito net. Large tub and rain shower. The restaurant and swing bar were very good. The beach has a variety of comfortable chairs to relax and watch the waves. Big pool. Very friendly staff.

There is a bar with a nightly drag show right next door to the property. From midnight to 2 AM every night, the music and crowd were loud. The hotel did provide earplugs, but they weren't effective in muting the party noise. I love a drag show, but every night for 2 hours was a bit much for us. I know it's not the hotel's fault, but it's something to be aware of.

A perfect, peaceful place to stay in Zipolite.

This property was incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the cleaning of the rooms is very good as well. I enjoyed the location as it was close to the beach, but not quite on it (I prefer this). The garden is beautiful and well maintained, the pool area was a little dirty but I think it was just the fact it is located in nature. If I ever visit Zipolite again, Hotel Descalzo will be my number one option.

This was the best stop on our journey through Oaxaca’s coast line.

The whole property is basically beachfront and has all the amenities you could need for a couple getaway. The room included a very nice tub, a proper working AC, a shower and a tub, great decorations, and also a small outdoor terrace with a hammock which was very nice to have at night. Outside the room the grounds are covered with palm trees and really make you feel like in a little resort. The pool is also very nice, a bit small if the the hotel is full but for us it was perfect.

There is no food, or beverage service at night. Also no minibar if you want to have something to drink at night and keep it cold since there are no shops close.

Feels like home away from home

What did I like? Everything. The property itself is stunning, clean, and just a few steps away from the ocean where you can enjoy a delicious meal, or a few beers or cocktails at a variety of places depending on your mood. Every morning, reception offers free coffee or water for guests. The rooms are beautiful with big comfortable beds, incredible pillows, and my room had a giant, comfortable bathtub. A nice treat after traveling Oaxaca for a couple weeks. Every staff member from check-in, to a massage, to general questions make you feel as if you're at home and "family" has been waiting for you. Will absolutely return.

This isn't a negative for the hotel, and just an FYI for future guests. The beach is an optional nude beach, so don't be surprised like I was, lol. Enjoy yourself and let loose if you choose!

Excellent location and amazing staff. Pool looked great but didn't use it due to close proximity to the beach.

This hotel is very close to a noisy bar, music playing until 2am or later (we joined in last night). This isn't the fault of the hotel but something to be aware of. The rooms are rooms are starting to look a bit tired

An excellent value for the money - quaint and comfortable with excellent service and a good location

Everyone on the staff was friendly and attentive both in person and by text. The cabins was roomy and quaint - just what you want from a Mexican beach town. The ceiling fan provided a cool enough breeze to sleep by, so there was no need for air conditioning. The location is perfect - right on a nice part of the beach with an excellent cafe and cocktail bar next door Organic soap and mosquito repellant. Overall, it's a very good value for the money if you are looking for an affordable alternative to places like El Alchemista.

There are some night clubs right next door that play loud music until 3 am. But I wore earplugs and had no problem sleeping. Also there are a lot of mosquitos that are hard to avoid.

Great little hotel, excellent accommodations and beautiful beachfront property

Perfect location on the beach. close to everything you need. The propriety itself is beautiful. lots of coconut palm trees and the room was beautiful - just as in the pictures. Everything was well maintained and clean. Pool was nice too although we only used it once since the beach is so close. Food and drinks at El Bicho ans Gula Gula were also excellent

Amazing time in Zipolite!

This was my second time staying there. Hotel is on the beach literally my view from room was the ocean. There are mosquitoes at night so beware. The pool is very handy because the ocean has very big treacherous waves.

The only negative is the loud music you can hear at night from the surroundings...bar across the street and club down the street. One night in bed I felt as if I was on the dance floor that is how loud the music is. So if you have issues sleeping bring ear plugs you will need them.
