Lovely historic building very close to the centre. Beautifully restored. (Ask to see the library). For those reviewers who mentioned cold showers, I suspect they mistook’C’ for cold, whereas, of course, it is ‘C’ for caldo, which means hot! Also, shower drains in Mexico have a fine mesh cover which you can move away with your foot. Good breakfast. All in all, a super hotel, but maybe not for people who want all the mod cons, and who hate stairs.

The rooftop terrace is run down…could use some plant TLC and working lights for night time enjoyment.
Meals were good and esp. enjoyed having daily cappuccino’s at breakfast.

We liked being in a historical context
The stairs. It was very difficult for us to climb the stairs. We would have preferred to have an elevator

The location is great. The room is nice decorated and the AC is nice.
The water from the shower goes out of the bathroom!

My wife loved the old architecture. The look of the hotel was good. The room was the photos shown.
We were not received very well at check in. Nothing was explained to us. We had to ask for the WiFi. It wasn’t given to us like most hotels. They didn’t explain the facilities, the restaurant hrs, check out time or anything else. We lost our opportunity to eat breakfast because it wasn’t explained that breakfast for only 2 hrs in the morning.

Location was great, right in the heart of the Historic district. Close to the Zocalo and other sites. They offer some excursion planning at the hotel. We walked to some nice restaurants that were within a couple of blocks and there was a grocery store just down the street to pick up any extra items.
We had a situation that there were no towels available one day. They removed our towels from the room and we were gone all day on a tour. When we got back I asked about towels for the room and was told none would be available until later that evening. The hotel was fully occupied and they were not able to provide even 1 towel for our room. this was the only problem and we didn't have any issues the rest of the stay.

Its location is great. It is a bit like staying in ‘faulty towers’
The furniture and original fittings are great.
My bathroom had damp and mould. The water was occasionally hot. Cold/ warm’ish mostly if lucky. The shower head needed a lime scale remover.
The breakfast coffee cups seem to all have cracks. 7/8 were cracked.(maybe they saved the cracked ones especially for us?)

It looked just like the pictures, close to everything in town.
There was no hot water or elevator

It was a pleasant stay. Nice room! The location is very good, not that far from the central square.

Peaceful, cute hotel in a great location. Same block as the two huge mercados but with none of the noise. Walking distance to everything like shops, food, bars and coffee. Hotel has three floors of rooms with a roof top terrace and complimentary amazing sunsets. Crazy amount of detail and art throughout the whole place. Rooms are perfect size with good wifi and tv streaming services. Great breakfast on first floor as well. Loved our stay!
Shower has a hot and cold cycle that takes precise timing and bed was a tad hard, but nothing even close to complain about.

location , facilities, the walls were falling , bad water , expensive for value

Close proximity to the main attractions. Huge comfy bed.
The room was nothing like shown on the pictures: no windows, outdated bathroom. Since the room had no window the air was always stale and musty. The wifi was really poor. The breakfast was a small portion for a grown-up. The shower wasn't working properly when we arrived (they fixed it during our stay). The room didn't feel clean (sticky floor, stain on the mug tray, bathroom shower with not out hair in it). AND THE FUNNIEST PART: the cleaning personnel took/ate all the open snacks from our room (Oreo, ferrero rocher, biscuits).

Breakfas was ok. Sustainability was a big plus. Lokation was good.
They did run out of black tea and juice, the two drinks we wanted for breakfast. The safe was not fastend anywhere in the room and it didn't work. Tey did som renovations during our stay and we stepped in som concrete when we arrived. We didn't have a window with a view in our room. Staff didn't speak any english.

Breakfast was ok but my guess is the hotel was understaffed, so it always took a long time for the order to be taken and then to be served. So if you have a trip somewhere, be early for breakfast!
Our room was very clean but the common areas were not. There were some carpets at the entrance and in the corridors that clearly had not been vacuumed in a while.

La colazione non era inclusa.
La posizione in città è strategica. Perfetta.
The hotel looks absolutely nothing like the photos: everything is very messy, many plants are dead and left in plain sight. Many items are stored in the corridors. Food crumbs everywhere.
Despite the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my room, the maid tried to break down the door to get in on the first morning.
They have a conference room which disturbs the neighboring rooms very much.
Impossible to access to the beautiful (at least in photos) library, without a previous notifications.
I found the coffee machine dirty and used by previous guests. And for me there was no coffee I could make fresh.
The maids turned off the fridge leaving leftovers from previous guests, which melted and my room was flooded with dirty water.
At night they turn off the lights in the corridors and you have to use your own phone light. Very dangerous as there are many stairs.
The plumbing system had some problems and for 6 days the water came out black from the pipes.
Internet didn't work in my room.
Some guests ate on the terrace leaving there all the leftovers and no one cleaned for 2 days.
The terrace, which would be a magical place to relax in the evening is in a total state of disrepair.
This hotel has no manager. There is nobody responsible for what happens and takes care of both the details and emergency situations.
I was offered a refund for 3 nights but sadly no one ever actually did.
In short, chaotic, dirty and also liars.
Such a shame as the hotel would be a really good hotel with comfortable beds and large rooms. The pictures are in fact great.
The location is perfect for walking everywhere.
Before writing this review I tried to get in touch through the hotel email, but the system doesn’t allow.

Location is great. Beautiful property.
Steep stairs to 2nd floor and stairs in bedroom to bathroom.

Beautiful building, decor, very traditional and well kept. Very comfortable bed. Great water pressure and very clean.
noisy when hotel hosted some sort of business meeting. we had to leave the room from 4pm - 8pm due to the speakers, noise, microphone. Would recommend that they do not host meetings when there are hotel guests.

Location was great! Breakfast was good! I didn't like that they start serving breakfast at 8:30 am and that when I made my reservations I paid for free breakfast but there is a maximum amount of $ that I can used, $100 pesos, over that amount I am responsable to pay. That was not explained when I booked for this hotel.
If there was an elevator, my room was on the third floor. And that I have to paid for part of my "free breakfast".

Beautiful space with lots of antiques and art both in common space and room. Nice rooftop terrace and view. Staff helpful and accommodating
convenient to zocalo but on opposite side from most restaurants and museums (had to walk an extra 2-3 blocks-not a very big deal). Had to rely on our Spanish in communicating with staff

The location was interesting and kind of noisy. This is our first time there so we weren’t aware of all the traffic and the sidewalk stands. Everything was convenient. We enjoyed the little bakeries and the markets. We enjoyed our stay.
We had a portable air conditioning unit in our room. It worked OK but was not enough for comfortable sleeping.

Nice helpful staff, location south of Zócalo Square, big room, coffee and water provided in the room. Anything you needed like a hair dryer or coffee refills were provided. Roof terrace a bonus.
Very low water pressure in the shower

6.0 / 10.0
The room was spacious, the rooms are quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Staff was trustworthy and they are pet friendly (only charging a small fee of 100 pesos regardless of how long your stay is). It's easy to reach Zocalo walking and the market is right next door. They provide you with a bottle of water and you can fill it up in the common areas (when there's water available). There's a fridge and a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee.
The location is right in the middle of a street market, next to Mercado 20 de Noviembre. During the day it was extremely busy up to the level that I had to wait for the swarm of people to pass so I could get out into the street and at night it was quite shady, especially as a woman travelling solo. Room was spacious but basic, with nowhere to place your luggage, windows do not open and you don't know if it was sunny or not outside, towels are extremely rough and old. I had a really messy showerhead spreading water everywhere around the bathroom because the shower did not even have a glass door anymore. The whole hotel has a 'cover' that pretends to be quite fancy but it's actually pretty messy and old, towels and bedding are left in the corridors for hours, the washing room on the ground floor is a mess, the one time someone cleaned my room during my stay they placed a used spoon and a mug back as if they were cleaned but weren't, everything had this vibe of "we tried to be fancy once".

The location is very convenient to the local artisan markets, zocalo, restaurants and historic centre. Our room was comfortable and quiet with A/C and a fridge. Filtered water is available to guests. We were a little apprehensive upon arrival because the street is very busy however once inside it’s very quiet.
