Location was poetic and hotel staff cared greatly about a dislocated knee injury that I had just sustained the night before I checked in. They were attentive to my needs and cared about customer experience, so for that I am thankful.
I came to Zipolite hoping to be able to enjoy some tranquil anonymity, so the overly attentive staff stressed me out a bit. However, I fully acknowledge that this is a somewhat good problem to have.
My first hotel room at Alquimista (the suite), while impressive at a general level, one of the pillow cases had cigarette burn marks, and one of the 'clean' towels had questionable stains that led me to use my own towel instead. The room locking system is reduced to padlocks that can easily be picked, so this is something to take in mind if you care greatly for your security. The second room I stayed at had the shower head suspended from the ceiling with a makeshift string contraption (see photo) and came off the wall with a simple nudge. I had to waste time during my stay to deal with reporting this issue, and because they refused (politely) to move me to another room, I had to wait around for maintenance to enter the room to do plumbing. Overall I lost at least 2 hours of the time that I paid for because of this issue. For the price that I paid for the hotel, these issues are unacceptable and it would be nice to be compensated for loss of use value. Hope this review helps.

Excellent Food, beach and staff. A bit pricier than other restaurants but excellent quality. Drinks also a bit overpriced. Perfect beach, very popular very diverse.
Toilet door left little privacy and it was made of sticks and did not latch. No blackout curtains. The sun was in my face as soon as it came up. Bring eye covers so that the sun won't disturb your sleep. My bed frame was very squeeky room 27.

This is a remarkable beach hotel built with simple but spacious rooms, a lovely pool area surrounded with birdsong, a great yoga studio, and an attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant is right on the beach and you can stay as long as you like with comfortable spots for reading and writing. The garden-like setting, the beach access, and the staff make this a sure beat if you want an authentic Mexican travel experience.
The restaurant is quite good; however, it would be nice to see more regional cuisine and inventive cocktails. The Mexican dishes on the menu are by the far the best.

Room is beautiful.
Beach is gorgeous.
Pool is an amazing sanctuary of quiet beauty.
Restaurant food was delicious.
Staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful.
They could use three times the number of Beach Beds.
ALL the reviews I read said ask for a room away from the restaurant if you want any hope of a late afternoon nap or going to sleep early. Unfortunately, my beautiful room was right in the path of the Loud Pulsating music that was playing at the restaurant at both 5 pm and 10 pm.

The property was clean and comfortable. The staff was also very nice. The junior suite is a very nice room and we loved the plunge pool!
Robes would be a nice plus. Also a few more lounge chairs at the beach would be great. We camped out two days next door where we had to buy food and drinks ($300peso min per person) to find a comfy spot to sit.

Great location, right on the most beautiful beach in Zipolite

The hotel is at a great location, right on Zipolite beach. We loved getting out of bed, opening our doors and walking right onto the sand. There is a very good restaurant on property that's right on the beach with a huge selection of food options. The staff are friendly and accommodating and keep an eye on the chaise lounges at the beach and also on what's going on in the water (there can be big waves). The staff were helpful at arranging discounted airport transfers. When we were there, the yoga program had one class a day with a great teacher (Maila) who taught a blend of iyengar + hatha styles.
While not expensive by U.S. standards, it's expensive for Zipolite, e.g. cocktails/food 2x-5x vs places nearby. The room met our expectations but online descriptions are confusing and still not sure we got the room type we reserved. Not all rooms have both air conditioning and screens; know in general in Zipolite that you might get mosquito bites without repellent.

The direct beach access was unbeatable; clean, relaxed, and even had friendly beach dogs that hung out with us daily. Service was prompt, food at the restaurant was consistently good, and the staff made the stay feel safe and cared for. The cleaning lady deserves special credit; she went above and beyond every day, and the beds were incredibly comfortable.
Wi-Fi in the rooms was unreliable, so I had to work from the restaurant most of the time. The suite felt smaller than it looked in photos, and we had a few bugs sneak in - understandable given the location but still worth noting.

We loved everything: barefoot feeling & location (direct on the beach with own little beach at the west end of Zipolite beach), food (variety and taste), friendly staff, modern equipped and clean room etc. ... we wish we had more time on our roundtrip to stay.

The bungalow at the beach location was great. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant and bar are good. Great pool. Good yoga class. Friendly staff.
The Mosquito net over the bed had some holes in it. Got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes while sleeping. No rug to clean sandy feet before getting into the bed. No free coffee. The internet was very spotty.

Outstanding service from the whole team, great food and cocktails in the restaurant and really beautiful peaceful location at the end of Zipolite beach with its own stunning little bay beach surrounded by rocks. Just an amazing place to stay
Walking back along the beach can be a bit treacherous when the tide is up - slightly longer walk around by street but worth it for the peace and quiet. Our room, with private pool and outdoor seating area was very comfortable and spacious - only improvement suggestion would be some blind or shutters to shut out more light at night/early morning

The photos on Booking.com do not do the property justice. It is truly a magical spot. Every detail of the property design was clearly very carefully thought out, from the outdoor showers that are scattered throughout the property, to the open plan suites that are made private through natural landscaping. Everything about the property was phenomenal.
The element that really made my stay a five star experience was the hospitality from the restaurant staff. These guys treated me like their best friend right from the get go. Alan taught me Spanish every time he’d stop by Alex helped me out when I wasn’t feeling well. Naum always had the biggest smile for me and was mega attentive all the time. Luis (forgive me for calling you Naum that one time, jaja) was a speed demon—always delivering rápido service! If I’ve forgotten to mention anyone by name, I’m truly sorry—but let that be a testament to just how friendly and welcoming the whole crew is. There were so many of you I got to know on a first-name basis, and even after I’ve gone, I still remember the way each of you made me feel.
I will undoubtedly be coming back again, and this time bringing my husband!

The property is really beautiful.
I decided to go to the alquimista hotel because I heard so much about their pool and see myself paying day pass in other hotels because the alquimista hotel pool was under construction.
I talked to front desk about it and was told that they would speak to the manager but I got not response.
Some other guess got 30% of the stay and others even the full refund.
I checked out Sunday 7/6 morning and didn’t got any response about it either.

The view from our room was amazing!
Nothing except it was very hot weather while we were there!

We love the atmosphere of the hotel, how close to the sea it was, the restaurant by the beach, the chairs, how secluded it was and the whole vibe in general. The bathroom was amazing and the terrace the room has.
There is a fault in the design of the rooms because they are not isolated from the outside so they have a thin veil to protect you from bugs. Unfortunately, that veil is not that thin so it protects you from the AC, therefore in a "funny way", the room is at an ok temperature but the bed inside the veil is really hot. Had they isolate the rooms in a normal way, everything would have work better.

Located on the edge of the beach, it is far from the dancing spaces and loud bars that go early into the morning. Yoga every day was absolutely exceptional in a very lovely space and was taught in a language and at a level that everyone could participate (with modifications if you desired more). The restaurant has an amazing dinner menu available late into the evening. The staff and cleaning staff were exceptionally helpful and always available for questions and requests.
The restaurant music plays until about midnight - if you are not in a fully enclosed space, you’ll be able to hear it faintly, droning in the background. Thankfully, I brought ear plugs that worked very well.

The hotel is at the west edge of the beach. As there’s a big rock on the beach it makes the hotel area quiet remote. We got a free upgrade to room number 10. second floor with a big balcony and a view to the ocean. We don’t know the original price but the price we paid for a whole week was half of the nude hotel next door. We both enjoyed this hotel way more as its Cosy and has a really good restaurant at the beach. Every evening they set up hundreds of real candles. Amazing vibe.
