A lovely, 400-year-old property in a lovely location with easy access to Beauly, Inverness, and Loch Ness (and walking distance from the amazing new visitor centre at Glen Ord Distillery). Estate of Ord is a great place and the owners have done an excellent job updating it and making it a comfortable place to stay. Our room was large and well-appointed, the bar was charming and well-stocked, and the restaurant was quite good, with lovely views over the well-tended garden.
Our review would be a "9," but we had consistent issues with heat and water pressure in the shower (we were in the Lewis room). There was a cute note explaining that, given the age of the home, some patience might be required for the heat and pressure, so we gave it time and leeway, with limited success.
We went fishing one day, and when we came back in the mid-afternoon, the water temperature could only reach lukewarm (and we gave it plenty of time). Also, in the mornings, while we had hot water, the water pressure was inconsistent. If there is a "trick" (e.g., the water pressure increased briefly after flushing the toilet), it should be explained). This was a frustrating downside to an otherwise excellent stay.
The only other complaint we had was that service at (delicious) breakfast was quite slow.

A proper boutique hotel in a delightful setting. Extremely well and tastefully decorated. Very obliging staff. Large and very comfortable room (The Garden Room).
Dinner a shade unexciting. Water pressure needs attention.
