Lovely family weekend away

We liked that there was alot on offer for children included in the hotel. The room was spacious. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel for families with young children!

The bathroom was quite outdated and needed some maintenance. The beds were uncomfortable and had 2 singles pushed together, these could do with renewing.

The hotel is close to other things and is accessible

The parking is not well sign posted, there isn’t enough parking. The rooms are slightly clean, like scale and mould in the bathroom. Clearly needs to be updated. The restaurant doesn’t suit the style of hotel. You can’t have a fine restaurant in a hotel that Is in this state.

Our usual go to hotel when staying in Aviemore and continues to deliver on great service and comfort

Great location, great staff and comfortable room.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with dinner. but we were recompensed in recognition of the poor quality on one of the meals. Otherwise food was very good.

Lovely short break with my kid

Great pool for small kids and soft play too. Breakfast was very good. Room was cosy and bed comfy. Dinner at Aspects was good.

Pool was too cold. Mediocre food at Giovanni’s. WiFi poor. Could do with comfier seats in the soft play for parents/carers. Could do with a good clean and refresh in most areas.

Dissapointed we were expecting much more we cut our trip short by two nights and went home

breakfast was good, plenty choice. Room was dark and dingy, very dusty not cleaned well at all.The Bed was meant to be King size which it wasnt as we had booked a superior double no idea what you got for "superior" but we couldnt figure what!. Lighting in the room was very dull not ideal. Decor dated. Pretty dissapointed and not 4* hotel more like a middle of the road 3*

A comfortable stay in the highlands.

Breakfast spread was fantastic Dog friendly which was great for us Location is also excellent Plenty car parking Rooms great size Complimentary toiletries very nice in the room Staff very attentive

No car charging facilities (unless a tesla) however I did notice some new ones getting put in - will be a great addition when working! Room and general hotel decor dated and scruffy in areas. (Clearly a well used and busy hotel). Black mould in bathroom on ceiling was unpleasant but again from dated decor and absence of good ventilation. Bar prices overly expensive The resort is generally poorly lit in public outdoor areas (paths). As we are dog walkers, the resort wasn’t the easiest to walk around in at night. Kirbs, pot holes etc not clearly visible. A check in time of 4pm is fairly late compared to other neighbouring hotels.

Great location but wouldn’t stay here again.

The location was great - across the road from the Steam railway. The bed and pillows were comfortable also breakfast was nice with vegetarian options on request.

Had booked an upgraded room to delux double however was given a triple room which hadn’t been hoovered. Hairs and big stains all over the carpet. I spoke with reception to say I thought I’d been given the wrong room but was told no I was in the right room and bed was king size (it was definitely not). Should have had robes and some extras which I also pointed out to staff. WiFi didn’t work as it said I was too far away.

Would come back!

Lovely clean hotel, nice rooms, massive soft bed, big room and big bathroom. facilities at the resort are excellent particularly the pool and soft play. Breakfast buffet was hot, varied and tasty.

Staff at reception were odd, like they didn't speak and seemed confused why you were there or where rooms were. We were originally given a room (2110) which was next to a metal blanking entry door and double doors to the corridor. Within 5 minutes of being in the room, the noise was ridiculous so we requested a move BUT I phoned main reception, the lady was lovely and understanding and moved us quickly. We wish the games room was bigger with more than 3 things, especially for entertaining older children.

Swimming pool although spa options 2 out of 3 werent open could only use sauna. Playpark, playarea for kids. Amazing breakfast

Uncomfortable beds and noisy with door banging (we were right beside lift? Shower/bath didn't drain properly leaving water in bottom whilst showering resulting in bath becoming very slippy causing fall on final day.

It's old hotel, but for the price you pay, you would expect a bit more quietness and privacy.

Room was spacious, and very clean. Very comfortable bedding and mattress.

I could hear my neighbours very well. And I mean everything. Their conversation (and not only;)), TV and toilet. Also breakfast wasn't the best.

Lady on reception desk when we arrived was not pleasant. Breakfast was terrible and chaotic. The porridge was cold, they ran out of plates, had to queue & wait for food to be brought out as they ran out of basic Breakfast items. Our room was not 4 star Standard. Curtains were frayed, hole in a towel and not cleaned properly

Good location to town, lots of facilities. Rooms are large and well-appointed.

It is very difficult to find the reception as a large tree blocks your view from the road. It actually looked like a service entry as there was no indication it was the reception. There was no reception parking, so l had to use a handicap bay. Bedroom, two singles pushed together, results in rolling into the uncomfortable crack, not very soundproof either. Shampoo provided, but no conditioner bottle. Really bad experience with the service staff in the restaurant, which resulted in me cancelling the second night. 😕

Stunning scenery at Aviemore Resort.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Stunning scenery and clean environment in Aviemore resort. Comfy bed. Swimming pool area clean and good facilities.

Mix up with details with opening times of the swimming pool....The staff did their best to help sort our disappointment with extra time the next day. Also a bag with gifts for my son. 😊 Our English breakfast was overcooked.

Never Again!

It was relatively near the town centre. Beds were comfy. Safe in the wardrobe. Breakfast was ok.

It was confusing on first arrival as to where we were to check in. Some staff were helpful and others weren’t. The room was a bit dated and needs renovated. We opened the window for fresh air but then we’re unable to close it. Didn’t like that it was a shower over the bath, but I believe there are rooms with shower only. At breakfast we were given a pot of coffee for one, even though we both wanted coffee. We asked for more coffee and again received a pot for one. On the third attempt, we asked for a pot for two and finally received a larger cafetière. One of the staff members berated a younger member while we were sitting at breakfast on Saturday morning - no need for that. Also the Cannon Run was on during our stay and for some unknown reason they parked a large trailer in front of the entrance steps to the Highland hotel. One of the staff should have asked for it to be moved (health and safety issue!).

Pleasant break but overpriced and the place could do with a big spruce up.

Great location, good resort setup with lots of facilities. Breakfast was good and staff were mostly great. Had a pleasant stay.

Room wasn’t very clean - only a cursory hoover and blinds had a big layer of dust. They were very dated for the money. We were there for a week and had to harangue to get the room properly serviced and get refills of tea/coffee/toilet roll etc. Toilet flush broke (although was quickly repaired), shower was red hot, heating was iffy, TV wasn’t a smart one so couldn’t catch up on Netflix etc, corridors were dark and battered, doors were sticky.

Should have a question when booking about people’s abilities as my wife that has mobility issues struggled with the maze of corridors and steps. Help with baggage would be helpful too if required.

Great mummy and son trip away while daddy away

The rooms was homely and comfortable and warm, my son loved the pool and didn’t want to leave

Although the restaurant looked great during both dinner service and breakfast it was was poor service, waited 30mins on first night to even have drink order taken let alone meal order and we was even sat right next to maitre de station so how they forgot us I have no idea, then had to ask for a soup spoon then after that had to ask for mains cutlery, I also ordered an additional drink before my main and had to remind waitress half way through my main of my drink order. Apart from this our stay was absolutely fabulous and my son has requested we do another trip soon

A comfortable overnight stay.

Family friendly and quiet The location was in the middle of the town with adequate walks behind the hotel to discover the wildlife. Breakfast was fulfilling and sufficient for another day out & about.

The swimming pool closed at 8pm till 10am which we weren't able to use due to our programme unfortunately.

Good Price, clean and tidy

The staff were friendly, the room was clean and tidy. The price for the room. The ease of checking in. The choice for breakfast.

We booked through bookings.com and got an upgrade to a delux room. However, being a delux room we thought we’d have a view to the cairngorms but that wasn’t the case our view was the car park at the back. Breakfast was good although the toaster machine requires the bread to be put in twice before it can be classed as toast which means there were always a queue. The dinner in general was tasty but the restaurant was mega noisy due the kids being allowed to play the piano….. The starters are small and overpriced. The main courses are a good portion and tasty.
