Relaxing and quiet, lovely hotel unfortunately falling short of 5 stars.

Staff were very efficient and friendly. The location, hot tub, balcony, breakfast and hotel public areas were great.

Unfortunately, our ‘extra decadent’ room did not live up to our expectations. We have stayed in a few 5 star hotels, but this fell short. Behind bed was very dusty and had red splatters up the wall (hotel told us after they were waiting for a decorator). The hot tub was lovely as was the area outside, but again above the outside door was pretty filthy (forgot to take photos) & needed a good power wash.

Spacious attractive room with excellent bathroom. Complimentary snacks. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff.

Only heavyweight duvets available. We had to ditch the duvet and sleep under the cover.

Room had a step down from the bed area to the bathroom, had to take extra care not to trip or fall.

Great hotel for our honeymoon

Lily was lovely and the other staff great. The bed was really comfy. Bathroom huge. bath and shower good.

No door on toilet (by design) which is fine if you're okay with that but we didn't like it.

Not exactly what I expected

No proper restaurant save for fast food. The Rocpool restaurant advertised apparently has no connection to the hotel and is a 15 min walk away - a wee bit misleading

Very comfortable stay and easy to relax with a lounge bar menu available for dinner.

Lovely sized room with robes and a comfy bed. We also had a spa outside which we used.

There wasn’t an option to have cappuccino or flat white style coffees for breakfast which is the first time we had experienced that. The breakfast itself was lovely.

Rooms were really comfortable and staff were so lovely and looked after us really well.

The area wasn’t particularly nice so best for an overnight stop maybe rather than a week. But it really is a lovely little hotel.

They had bottles of water in reception, we picked up one as we had just arrived from the airport. Shocked to be charged for water, considering the price of the rooms. If it was for sale then it should be displayed as such. Most hotels where we have stayed offer drinks or water on arrival!

Dissapointing experience

Good location

What the hotel shows in photos and what we actually got do not match a 5 star experience at all. The property is run down, the bathroom lighting was partially broken, and there were issues with the toilet. The advertised hot tub of the balcony was another disappointment – it was located in the yard under the stairs.

Trying to be London chic, charging London prices, managed like Fawlty Towers.

Good location and clean.

Irritating noise in the room, and when we raised with night manager the issue was ignored at the time. Also, inexplicably, the night porter was vacuum cleaning communal areas in the proximity of our room after 11pm, also this issue was ignored when we complained about at the time. Unwillingness of those with authority to either own or discuss hotel’s failings the following morning, and no follow up by hotel even though our contact details were left for subsequent contact with us by the hotel’s management.

Disappointing to pay over the top price and not even get a bottle of water in the room which is fairly standard in all the hotels we have stayed in. Booked this hotel because of balcony but the balcony was not even clean

Inverness horror with staff doing their best.

The welcome and staff were nice to deal with.

The room was very shabby, dirty and seriously out of touch with what a ‘luxury stay’ should be. Basement room was damp and dark. Price was exorbitant and we were extremely disappointed with what we paid for it. I suggest they seriously consider their offering and prices. Will not be returning.

Nice hotel but a didn’t quite feel 5 star.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable, it was quiet and the breakfast was good.

The hotel has very few photos on Booking and on their own site, the photos that they do have don’t seem to correspond to the rooms so it’s hard to know what you’re getting. I booked the double decadent room for a friends big birthday. The room did not resemble the photos, the bathroom was smaller, the room was also not that large and instead of a balcony with city views and a hot tub it was down two flights of stairs on the ground floor with no view. The double decadent room really did not seem worth the price. The Hip room was fine for the price. As a small hotel there is very little atmosphere, this means it is nice and quiet but it felt more like a guest house than a hotel. It didn’t really feel 5 star, maybe 4 star. Also the restaurant that is attached to the hotel is closed on a Sunday and Monday.

Staff made us feel very welcome and helped with luggage. They were very courteous and paid special attention to make us feel comfortable. The hotel was immaculate with high quality furniture and beautifully appointed rooms.

Good breakfast. Eccentric tea/tasting spoons option in late afternoon. Good bar food.

Hot water took a long time to run to the bathroom. The phone in the room didn’t have any instructions about how to reach reception. Wasn’t sure the vertiginous expense was worth it.

The location is very central. The bed is comfortable.

The room was on a lower level so only half window and dark. Shower was so small and no where to place items for use in bathroom. I think it’s prob more like a 3 star hotel. Expensive for the experience.

Disappointed

Nice comfy room, good location

I had advised the staff of our approx arrival time and yet no one was on hand to greet us, the bar staff didn’t know how to serve drinks( lack of training) poured my husband a beer and then proceeded to take the rest of the bottle back, asked for some ice and delivered in a plastic jug from the kitchen. Our fridge wasn’t working. At breakfast we had to ask 3 times for toast. Not at all what I expect from a 5 star hotel.

Incredibily well maintained facility that I would highly recommend!

Breakfast was superior. Menu based options providing a full selection of everything you would expect at a high end hotel. Excellent bar facility with numerous appetizers and small meal options. Room was superior with an excellent ensuite shower and bath. Room was fully stocked with drinks and snacks, all complimentary. The staff was fully accomodating providing any and all required assistance. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Nice hotel, awful service

Beautiful hotel, with wonderful historic features throughout.

The staff were rude and not very accommodating. They didn’t service one of our rooms, claiming they ‘didn’t have the key’ which is just odd. Furthermore, they kept pushing us to pay for the rooms when I had already paid weeks before when booking. They didn’t believe me when I told them this and it took me having to prove to them with the booking receipt, rather than them checking their accounts. Overall a disappointing service, not conducive to how much we paid. Will not be staying again

Nice hotel.

Nice place at good walking location from centre of Inverness. Good restaurant and breakfast was very good as well. We had a very large room which was nice. With a coffee and tea maker. Large bathroom.

The room had 2 small windows, that could open but not close. We thought that was tricky because it was facing the street side. The room itself was very warm but it had an AC.
