Glen Mhor Hotel

Good Room & Location only issue was v-slow restaurant - staffing issues. Other wise large room, car park Ok. nice walks on river etc.

The property is brilliant unmatched location good rooms although the washroom and bathing cubicle is tiny. It has a brewery in the premise which is unique. This is where the good ends. Now the bad. Service was pathetic and every staff member I met gave cold unwelcoming vibes. The coffee machine is outdated and during my stay almost dysfunctional causing lines of upto 25 people to get their morning brew.housing keeping left after leaving my room half done.when confronted were highly unapologetic and cited a very busy day. (Is that our problem) now the most important part the ugly. They do not have any concept of hospitality. Firstly i was made to trudge my bags to my room which was located atleat 2 or 3 flights up. Not done for a place charging 275 pounds. No help no remorse no nothing. Now the really ugly. Although I reached at 1.30 pm I wa made to wait exactly till 4 pm for my room citing the guaranteed check in is 4 pm. Fine at the time of check out I left the room at exactly 1145 am acceptable by any standards worldwide.but they demanded an extra 20 pounds as check out time is exactly 11 am .wow .I created a small ruckus and got the 20 pounds waived off of course.but the point is not the extra 20 pounds on a trip which costs 10000 pounds anyways .the point is the mentality of the people who are running it.when I told the manager no where in the world the difference between check in and check out is 5 hours. She proudly says it is here. Wow.although lots of people have given great reviews but that is their sensibilities and their experiences. In my 20 years of travel all over Europe I never saw such inhospitable people. In fact I had stopped reviewing long back but this shocking experience had to be shared.so next time u see the beautiful pics of this hotel and get tempted,give it a thought.experiencez are not just made by trophy waterfront properties but by human kindness and attitude.yet wanna try it out? All the best.

The hotel is located along the banks of the River Ness, offering great views. The room itself was good sized. Note that there is no lift.

I had the impression the restaurant was understaffed. Also the staff who were there were not supported by good management. Potential of conservatory was let down by grubby streaked windows & dirty glasses were piling up on the bar counter. Could be better with proper organisation & attention to detail.
