Great accommodation, very spacious, immaculately clean with everything we needed.
The only thing would be having no to drop the key back at the main hotel on the morning before leaving instead of being able to get to get straight on the road

The location was great. The rooms were clean and big.
Very convenient location. All the points in Fort Williams were at 15 min driving location.
Check-in was at the castle instead of where the rooms are. It was informed to me so I was aware about it. However this can be made more easy by checking at the hotel itself.

On arrival at the castle to pick up our keys for our room in the Factor's Inn, my husband had to wait to be served whilst the man on duty was tripping over himself to serve the castle guests who arrived 'after' my husband. This made my husband feel like a second-rate citizen. This was not a pleasant way to begin our stay and straight away made us feel that we were "just the guests staying in the other 'less important building'" and that "our money was not as good as those staying at the castle". The man on duty the next morning (when we handed our keys back) was the complete opposite of the one on duty the day previously - much more friendly and attended to my husband first and others who came to the reception afterwards, but unfortunately the tone had been set the evening before and that was difficult to pass off. The Factor's Inn itself had a CLOSED atmosphere to it. No lights on (apart from the hallway and staircase) and this was not very welcoming. Perhaps a little soft music in the hallway or a fire in a lounge where guests can sit would be more welcoming and make guests feel like there is a little life about the place. Our room itself was warm and clean, so that was a positive. Would we book a room again? "No" for the very reasons I noted above. Ours was a very disappointing experience unfortunately. When you think "Inn", you think warm and cosy fire and welcome. You also want to be treated the same as every other guest - castle guest or otherwise. We found the whole experience disappointing to be honest.
It was our experience that castle guests were given priority over those staying at the Factor's Inn - at least that was our experience unfortunately.
