Clean, cosy and comfortable

It was lovely and clean … it exceeded my expectations because some of the reviews I read… found them to be inaccurate. Lovely cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen. The beds were surprisingly comfortable.
The only slight neg thing would be the showers . Found them to be quite small and tight but there was hot water so can’t complain. I

Smooth checkin. Worn and small but clean rooms. Hostel kitchen was ok-ish. Friendly guests and atmosphere. Walking distance to city center.
The fire alarm went off at 4am. And it took an hour to turn it off. The beds were small and worn. The kitchen could be kept cleaner. A little to backpacker style for a family with kids.

Good location and value/money.
A bit too little number of showers.

The kitchen was clean. Room was tidy and we had a few hours of sleep before we could make next part of our journey. We enjoyed the view around the hotel and kids loved it too.
The shower rooms were too tiny, with no control on how to change the temperature of water and there was one toilet to share between many male guests.

Value for money and no frills approach.
Noise from other guests as soundproofing non existent and can hear footsteps in corridor.

The lodge is in a really lovely spot and it's equipped with everything you might need. It is really good value for money especially in the popular Glencoe area. Strong wifi! Easy checkout. The town has a decent grocery store
It's simple, but I liked it

The property was clean and the kitchen in particular was very well stocked. It was great to have a large drying room and the showers were lovely and hot. We were really pleased that the reception opened early and we were allowed early into the property on a wet miserable and cold day. Thank you!

Great location, good facilities (clean, there is place to lounge, cook, eat with enough space for several people. Plenty of cookware/cutlery/plates etc).
Beds could be a bit more comfortable. Although there is tea supplied, there could be some cooking oil provided as well (food can be purchased at a nearby Co-op, but a bottle of oil to buy and carry is a bit uncomfortable).

Location and showers were good. Kitchen was well served.
Beds, rooms were too warm, not very comfortable.

Fully supplied hostel without staff in hand. Nice dining, lounge and kitchen areas. Room was spacious. Excellent grocery co op just down the hill.
It's up a steep hill so be prepared for a final hike.thwbtowel fee and early check in are cash only, there is an ATM in town but with the fees it's 3x more than if it could be etransfered. The floor in the bathroom is spongy, it may be a low stress floor but I suspect it's more likely to be significant water damage

Clean and tidy. Stunning view. Polite staff.
Noisy. You can hear absolutely everything from every room. The showers and toilets need upgrading.

Lovely and warm, clean, carpeted, cosy room. Warm building with full cooking facilities and utensils to use. Great location five minutes to centre of little town.
I don’t think the window could be opened ‘safely’ unfortunately - ie it opened very wide - so even though there was fly mesh, the window couldn’t be left open over night.

We stopped at the Blackwater hostel on our first night walking the West Highland Way from Fort William. I stayed with my two sons in a 2 bunk ensuite. The kitchen area was excellent for preparing our meals and offering a comfortable area.

Towels we're not provided by default and could only be booked in advance for a fee. I was traveling and missed that information so didn't have a towel after my shower.
The windows did not have nets against the midges, and with a very hot night with no AC, that was very unpleasant.

Hostel rooms, kitchen and bathrooms were basic but comfortable and well-equipped. Bathrooms very clean. Staff not permanently present on-site but communication via email was effective and very friendly. You can tell they care about the place.
While overall cleanliness was fine, kitchen and bedrooms (beds/around and under mattresses) could do with a deep clean.

Nice location.
Little noisy, especially in the morning.

Very convenient lodge in a quiet environment. We felt as if we were youngsters in a small youth hostel, and we enjoyed it. The common parts were very clean and practical. Our daughter loved observing the deers nearby!
The price is rather high for such an accommodation, but it's everywhere the same in Scotland anyway.

Everything
Could improve on showers and toilet as not ideal for a big group whonwant to shower at once. Otherwise excellent for a small party.

Very clean, friendly cleaner, nice kitchen and lounge, nice view from outdoor seating.
Co-op and nice pub close by.
Would have been nice to have a reception to assist with any queries, or offer advice on walks etc.
Room was very hot, unable to open windows because of muddies, maybe screens?
Unexpected vehicle access.
Bit of noise from other guests.
