Highland Getaway

Everything. From our arrival to departure. Fantastic host, so friendly and attentive. All staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food excellent. Bar prices very reasonable. Room was exquisite. Spotlessly clean and comfortable and very spacious. Balcony in the bar had fantastic views. We had debated when we booked whether we should stay a second night which was an error on our behalf. Would love to go back.

Nothing. All was great and couldn't fault any of it.

Perhaps a bit dated but very clean

When we stumbled into Kinlochleven from a long day of hiking. The first thing we saw after the Hydrostation which pretty much blocks the view of the town, was the Highland Getaway. It was super easy to find, right on the green by the Ice climbing center. Check in is at the bar. (that was the only thing we didn't seem clear on). The staff was swamped with a huge bar but got to us timely, told us what they needed and escorted to our room next door. This escort was great and showed they cared since the bar was full. They had prebooked a reservation for dinner but accommodated a quick change without fuss. The room was clean, quiet, and the shower hot! Breakfast was porridge, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. My wife said it as the best porridge she ever had and it prepped us for a full day of hiking the West Highland Way.

There wasn't much to not like. The tub was higher than normal for Americans but all the bathtubs have been. I would have to think longer to say anything that wasn't a like.

Staff and shower.

By far the most expensive accommodation on our WHW walk. Unfortunately not living up to the 145 pounds for a double. Staff was friendly and checkin was possible at two. Small room with an even smaller bed (140cm), windows going out to the main street. Towels smelled of cigarette smoke. Not highly rated.
