Very impressive stay

An amazing stay and great value for money. First impressions were good when we arrived and then went for lunch- sandwiche menu was amazing! Walked in to our room and it was great. Stunning and comfy with lots of space and a big bath and separate shower. Very comfy bed, slept really well Down for breakfast and it was 10/10 with stunning views! Gutted we didnt get to use the spa as it too looked so good. Overall, really good stay. We were very happy

Our room was great on second floor but you could hear every footstep of the people above including their children racing about . If you have a spa , great to have towelling robes but why not provide slippers to go with them? Massages more expensive than London so aborted ! £68 for a half hour????

Stunning location, virtually on the beach! Our last evening on the north coast for our 33rd anniversary road trip. Evening moonlit paddle a must :) We loved being able to walk to the beach with a drink, so peaceful. The swimming pool & saunas areas were lovely. Nice little touch of anniversary wishes chocolate in our room on arrival. Dinner was good, as was the conversation with another guest we met :) Some lovely staff.

This was the most expensive room on our trip. Although the room was bigger than expected, sadly it was a let down, our view was of the industrial bins and the roof complete with rusting fire escape from our windows, which one of was sealed shut! It was far too warm in the room and the provided fan couldn’t cope with it. The bed needed replacing as before it was sat on, you could already see impressions in it, ie you sunk in it. Plentiful toiletries although no conditioner, after a rather curt, we don’t supply conditioner from the receptionist, i eventually fetched some from the spa in a cup from the pool , sad really as we had the total opposite service at your sister hotel in Oban, but customer service none existent with some staff here. Our rooms bathroom needed tlc, taps loose, grout on the floor missing and sharp and the shower leaked all over the floor. Although we enjoyed the pool etc, we were never offered or given information regarding the other spa facilities. Breakfast was good but the experience was a bit shambolic, we guessed new staff, wrong hot drinks, had to ask for buffet items and flys on the cheese and meat selection.

Good but poor dinner

The warm welcome Pool facilities where great location

Dinner was disappointing. One dish had an item missing, when questioned the waiter went away and came back and said it the menu was wrong ! No mention of an extra item of veg or a coffee, nothing just tuff. Another dish with truffle chips on the menu, the waiter said there was no truffle left would it be OK with normal cheese, we said yes but this was then treated as an extra on the bill. My I ordered my dish with king prawns, after 5 mins the waitress came back said they has run out of king prawns was I ok with normal prawns, I said Ok but these were tiny and all wet.

A very nice hotel with splendid views to the sea . The dining experience was excellent.

A very atmospheric hotel in a fabulous location. The staff were very professional and helpful. Our surnames were used on several occasions by the head waiter Johnny which was a very nice touch. The room was very clean and bathroom huge with a good shower. The view over the sea was fantastic. We chose to eat in the hotel in the conservatory dining room and the service and food was excellent.

In hindsight we should have chosen a room with a larger bed ...It was a double....and smaller than we are used to.

Visited for my partners birthday and had a wonderful time.

The view was amazing, the room was lovely as were the staff who were so helpful and appreciative. Went for the steak night for dinner and the food was top notch also.

Only thing to say is there was only shampoo and no conditioner in the shower, only a tiny thing though!

Not worth the money.

The location was excellent. Thebreackfast was not in keeping withe price paid. Poor choice of cereals. Cold toast and too meen to clear the tables. The lounge was cosy but too many dogs and people walking about with only bathrobes on. I do not expect this cor the price i was paying.

Romantic weekend

This is a lovely hotel for a relaxing weekend. Our room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The restaurants interior design is amazing, the staff excellent and the food and drinks really good. The spa is lovely too, we spent a few relaxing hours there.

The room was very hot, the shower drain didn’t work, the mattress was very worn and needs changing. Service at breakfast very low and poor, I couldn’t even get a hot chocolate and my breakfast order was forgotten. The toast was forgotten. One breakfast for two people. Very slow service

When we checked in the young lady did not smile or seem very friendly , also asked what time we wanted breakfast so we said 9.15 didn’t get our food until 10.20 no orange juice so I asked if they could refill it up took 25 minutes only two glasses one was chipped and very sharp but didn’t want to wait for it to be replaced . Seemed like there wasn’t enough staff, when we checked out a different woman was a lot friendlier and gave us a smile

The bar and restaurant staff ruined a magical wedding weekend. Our other hotel guest and family/friends who came to meet up with us also commented on just how unwelcoming it was. Truly disappointed and saddened that they did this and it ruined part of the weekend. I would not recommend anyone to celebrate a special occasion here, definitely not if you want to gather any large groups together.

A beautiful hotel on the waterfront!

Beautiful heritage building in perfect location. The garden and wild flowers were a joy and great sunsets.

The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful but they seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed at times - many errors but all forgiven and corrected with apologies and discounts.
