Amazing place, friendly people that work there, excellent restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was really great too. Castle that was built in 1120. Sweeping views of Perugia and the countryside. I can't say enough about this castle. The pasta dish I had was probably the best I had on my entire trip and that included 5 days in Roma.

The people were excellent. The atmosphere superb! The location wonderful. Only the restaurant area was so blab, needs major decorating. Art looks like a 6 yr old No colors match, very uncomfortable chairs. Very stark and boring room. Orherwise a wonderful stay at a beautiful castle

I can’t praise this hotel enough. This is the best hotel we have stayed at and we have been holidaying in Italy for 30 years. Definitely somewhere I would recommend and would plan to come back to. It only has 18 rooms so is never busy. There are beautiful outdoor seating areas with shade and bar service. Just wonderful.

We had such a great time at Castello di Monterone. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay—always available and super welcoming. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our room was spotless, the shower was fantastic, and everything felt very comfortable. The castle itself is beautiful and full of charm—it really feels like a special place. It’s also just a few minutes’ drive from the old town, which made exploring easy. We also really enjoyed the restaurant. The food was delicious—we tried the crocchette di patate, tartare di manzo al coltello, tagliolini al ragù, lasagna vegetariana, crema di pomodoro, and costolette di agnello. Everything was tasty and the restaurant staff were just as lovely as the rest of the team. Breakfast was great too, with lots of choices and everything fresh. And on hot days, the swimming pool was a real treat. All in all, a fantastic experience. We’d definitely love to come back.

This property is a castle located on a hillside overlooking a beautiful valley. It features a pool, hot tubs and sauna as well as a beautiful dining area. Despite being an old castle, there is a well functioning ventilation system that eliminates any musty or moldy smell one might expect. It is clean and in good repair but not at the expense of old world charm

The hotel is a genuine old castle, has 18 rooms of which none are the same. So much thought has gone in the rooms, what is where and what would please. Perugia town is only 10 minutes away and can seen from the hotel on a hill over a valley of fields and olive trees. The swimming pool fits in perfectly with plenty of sun loungers and two separate hot tubs bubbling away. Perugia town itself has creates a lasting impression. The airport is only 15 minutes away.

The castle is beautiful, with every single detail taken into account. It is located on top of the hill, offering a breathtaking view. The swimming pool also has two outdoor jacuzzis. It’s a nice, quiet, and peaceful place to be. Finally, the restaurant at the hotel is a great option.

We arrived early and could check in. Used pool and jacuzzi overlooking Perugia. Lovely and relaxing at the end of the trip. First impressions of this ancient castle did not disappoint. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Hotel and grounds were impressive. Room was very comfortable. Had a drink outside before dinner. Still taking it all in. Dinner was incredible. Had a great nights sleep and breakfast was a huge choice of self serve items. Lots of home made unusual choices. Loved our unique castle experience

A stunning boutique “castle” hotel, fantastic restaurant for dinner!!! Nice pool and hot tub. The view of Perugia is wonderful, especially during sunset. The staffs are helpful and warm. A few minor improvements can be made, like proving water/coffee/tea in room? The shower hot water was not consistent in my room.
