The Barn

The Barn was extremely comfortable. It was like a home from home. Everything we needed was provided. I would not hesitate in booking here again. Myself my partner and our dog really enjoyed our stay here.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Exceptionally tasteful inside. The curtains are heavy and very cosy. Clean throughout. The quality of double glazing and sound proofing meant the nearby trains were not disturbing. Private with secure garden for the dogs. The owner even provided a crate for the dogs which they loved snuggling in to. Everything we could need was provided. The no. 13, 1 & 1A buses stop very close by so we used these to go in to York with the dogs. The Parvin restaurant just a minute away on York Road is an absolute bonus for a Sunday buffet. The communication from the Owner has been superb and the directions as to how to access the barn were perfect. Hosouraluty welcome of bread, milk, biscuits, bottled water, jams and sauces were very appreciated. The cricket memorabilia is lovely.

A bit of caution needed inside the front door as the mat is lower than the stone tiled floor. It was a trip hazard initially. May benefit from a non-slip shower mat. Appears the wood or multifuel burning stove is not for use by guests. We took wood for "just in case" but it is warm and very well insulated so a fire was most certainly not needed. The bed linen, towels and pillows are gorgeous. The bed is very comfortable. It has been a wonderful stay. Highly recommend

Excellent facilities like a home from home. Comfortable bed lovely hot shower . Lovely little extras left out for us. Ideal location for local bus route and very near to shopping outlets.
