Candy House

The property was immaculate. The grounds around the property were well landscaped and pretty. The view of the lake and mountains was beautiful. The hosts left a lot of goodies for us including coffee, biscotti, snacks, and eggs from their own chickens! The first floor of the house had a gym and a laundry room. The owners were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. You could walk into town or drive to a convenient public parking garage.

Nothing.

Beautiful views and very well equipped property.

In the weeks before our arrival, I received WhatsApp messages about this booking from unknown numbers. They knew my name and the dates of the booking and were demanding other information. I sent a message via Booking.com and was told that there were problems with data leaks. (It is not clear where the data loss occurred but Varenna Holidays is the agency that deals with the check-in arrangements for this property).

Es una muy buena casa manejada por gente encantadora que siempre estuvo muy pendiente de nosotros y nos colmó de muestras de cariño como botanas, provisiones y dulces.

Un poco difícil el acceso para gente con incapacidades

The view is absolutely beautiful. The house was clean and orderly. Very peaceful and quiet surrounded by nature and bird song.

Very, very bad check-in experience. It took me 2 hours to find the office for the keys to the house because they gave me the incorrect address. The house is a 25 minute walk from Varenna, and taxis are not reliable. Also, in the pictures it shows that there is a gym downstairs, but I was told upon arrival that it is only for the owners. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, like sleeping on cardboard.
