My second stay here and in exactly the same room. I was visiting the area for work so arrived late, after the bar had shut (at 8pm!) so I had to let myself in. In the morning I let myself out so didn't actually see anyone during my brief visit. The room hadn't changed which is a good thing, a nice big bed and a decent shower is all you need for one night and The Watership Down Inn delivered.
The lack of staff was a little odd and an 8pm bar close was a bit early so no pint after my long drive!

Did not eat at hotel. Lovely to get up in the morning and drink our tea outside. Fantastic bathroom.
Was not to keen on floor lights in the bathroom.

We didn’t have breakfast but we did have a Sunday roast which was lovely. The staff were really friendly and helpful as we had a challenge to get a taxi service for a function in the village and they really tried to help, much appreciated.
The room cleanliness was passable but not great. Also quite tired room, bed and bathroom. It was passable but not great for the money. We were also charged a supplement to have twin beds and have never experienced that before.
