I stayed here for the first time about 8 years ago so this was a return visit. The rooms are great with huge TV and espresso machine etc and the little patio area with access to the car park on the side is very unique. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and accommodating. My Partner declared this as the best room of our 10 day UK road trip and I absolutely agree.

Beautiful place and gorgeously decorated for the festive season. The little added touches in our room were really appreciated thank you.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Room quite small but fine for one night. We were in Room 1 and some sort of boiler was on and off through the night which wasn’t good. There was plenty of hot water for shower and room was nice and warm.

The restaurant had run out of almost half the menu when we wanted to eat at about 6 pm on Sunday. We appreciated they’d had a busy day but there was really no excuse to run out of the basics. We thought the restaurant wasn’t well run and the waitress was quite surly. We had to get back in the car and find somewhere else to eat

Staying in the family/disable room when on a romantic couple weekend. Didn’t ask for it didn’t want it and was unable to change room. Didn’t enjoy the service at breakfast, ignored and had to ask twice if we could order. Thought the drinks were overpriced, London prices.

Well laid out modern motel like feel. Rooms comfortable and easy to heat. Good selection of beverages including a coffee machine. Excellent addition of a mini fridge and fresh milk. Plenty of free parking and sort drive out of Winchester (15mins) or to walk in about 1hr 30mins. Local bus stop but not very regular times. Generally quiet though could be more noisy in warmer moths if people outside enjoying the pub. Nice inviting bar/restaurant with good variety of food and drinks. Overall the place had a good feel and would recommend this place and definitely consider staying again or in another place in the company chain.

Lights randomly would dip/brighten (staff say ongoing issue they looked into numerous times with no resolve) Slightly dusty in areas especially under the beds.

Quiet location with easy access to Winchester by car. The Hotel was eclectic and had a great feel to it. The rooms was large enough and the beds very comfortable. The food served at the hotel was top class and the staff were of a high level.

Clean. Fluffy towels, exceedingly comfy bed with plenty of plump pillows made for a great night’s sleep. Excellent and varied choice of food. Great for gluten free. So friendly and genuinely welcoming. Great for visiting Winchester Christmas market

It was near-perfect! Absolutely beautifully presented accommodation adjacent to one of the most enjoyable pub-restaurants I’ve ever been to, anywhere. Loved every aspect of it!

The doors can be loud when closed by those who don’t consider others.

Excellent Comfy Super King Bed, slept well, Breakfast was filling with both Continental, cereals and cooked breakfasts on offer, room amenities offered kettle, coffee machine and welcome tray with homemade biscuits. Would definately recommend.

Great staff who were very helpful and attentive. Clean large fully equiped room. Attention to detail and comfortable bed. Loved the Bramley products in the bathroom! Restaurant was fantastic!

Rooms around an outdoor smoking and drinking area. Poor choice of cold breakfast items - no breads, pastries, yoghurts for example. Very little space in the room for coffee and tea making and storing a suit case. Bathroom sink too small.

Breakfast - Bacon was exceedingly over cooked to almost cremation style on Friday morning! Noise in the evening in the restaurant with tables for two, which are far too close together. Meant we left 70% of our main meal uneaten due to the constant noise/very loud conversations from the very close by (approx. 2 feet away) adjacent table on Saturday evening-very disappointing and a waste of money for the two meals! Staff were advised that the food was ok but we couldn't converse due to the load conversations of the adjacent table, but they couldn't do anything about it, so we paid for two meals which were not eaten! The positioning of overhead lamps between the two table for two, hanging between two adjacent tables, meant you either ducked very low or hit you head on the lamp shades. Seats were very stained and not very hygienic!. They need cleaning! For the money paid we feel the rooms are very small with no sitting area and no place to store suitcases and the four cushion and two throws provided or for more clothes when staying more that one night! Really a lack of overall space for three days spoilt the stay!

We stayed in a larger bed room which proved a great choice! Bed was cosy and pillows good. Large TV and good shower. Refreshments were welcome! Loved the setup of the accommodation steps away from the pub and restaurant. Communal areas were very pretty with shrubs and flowers. Internally, the decor was themed on horses obviously and looked so good! Good varied menu for meals and the breakfast was yummy! Wine choice good! Would definitely recommend. Staff were a delight and a credit to the management. Nothing was too much trouble! Large carpark with free parking, always a bonus. The area is very pretty with the quaint village of Stockbridge within a few miles. Winchester is just down the road. Other attractions are close by.

Always friendly and welcoming. I stay here often. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I only ever have dinner in the evening and there is always a good choice. Love the relaxing atmosphere and surroundings. Great location for me visiting family nearby.

Nothing I could fault - it’s a great village pub with rooms, not a 5* star hotel. So manage your expectations. The staff all work really hard to make your visit welcoming and comfortable.

Rooms were really nice, and based at the back of a pub so easy for an evening meal after a long walk

Location was really out the way, if needed access to Winchester without a car. I felt the room was quite highly priced without breakfast included.
