The breakfast
The room was very dark & the heating was very noisy, as were the fans outside the bedroom window.
The bottom sheet of the bed was not fitted & was too small (not tucked in) & so became very rucked up & uncomfortable.
The price did not include parking - very disappointing!

Staff very friendly & helpful. Location good. A walk into town. Nice Spa and a very good breakfast.
Nothing really only one thing was the shower in bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. The heating air conditioning in room didn’t seem to work but there was a plug in heater and toilet made a noise after you flushed it. It did stop though after about 20 secs !

As soon as you walk in you get hit with the most delicious scent and then a lovely happy receptionist follows.
The hotel is so clean and inviting!
The whole vibe is beautiful, the spa area, pool etc is lovely, not really enough loungers or lockers for the amount of guests but you can just pop your stuff by the wall and it’s safe. It’s because they also have Their members. The only thing about the pool is that it’s very wet and slippery so you do have to walk like a penguin/bambi to stay upright(or maybe that’s just me)?! They do also have anti slip mats but they hurt my feet, quite possibly just me being sensitive.
The staff all around the hotel and spa are lovely.
We had an issue with the tv but it was sorted instantly. You can stream from your apps on your own phone so you can watch what you want!
Shower is lovely, powerful and looks fresh and clean!
Towels and bedding spotless, the bed is insanely comfortable! Kinda wish I was staying longer, in saying that. I’ll definitely be back!
There is ample parking and a great rate for 24hrs, £7.40 to be exact!
So close to the city centre and so many food and bar options.
We didn’t eat at the restaurant but I can only imagine it’s top tier like the rest of the visit.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay for my friends 40th birthday. We both had a great time.
Absolutely nothing bad to say about the place.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms had everything you need tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, water, toiletries.
The beds were comfortable.
Use of the spa was free and was very quiet when we used it.
The air conditioning units were noisy and we had to turn them off when sleeping. One room had fans outside the window which were noisy.

Breakfast, had a good choice of food full English breakfast, cereals, cakes, fruit and juices, tea and coffee. The dinning room was very nice and the service was great very attentive staff.
Don't have any complaints, very good service.

Above all, the food in the Alfred Restaurant was superb - especially how it catered so well for my wife's numerous food allergy and intolerance issues. The Chef came out to speak with her on both evenings to discuss her requirements and he prepared oat milk porridge for her at breakfast on both mornings! We were hugely impressed with the staff and their collective attention to detail and wonderful service.
Everything else in the hotel was excellent and we look forward to returning later in the year!
Seemed a little picky to charge £7-20 for parking in their own carpark per night - the hotel is not inexpensive, but it was otherwise well worth it.

Good location. City centre easily walkable.
Bedrooms were dark and lighting was very poor with a small window. Furniture was dark and a bit tatty.

It's our 5th stay and it never fails to deliver a lovely experience.
The food is great the drinks are good and the staff professional polite and friendly. The rooms are comfortable as is the bar lounge area.
I cant say there is anything we didn't like. If I had to think of something, we would have liked the spa area to have been 'brushed' down quite regularly, as it was busy and there was a lot of surface water. However, we still had a lovely time in the very relaxing spa area.

Pleasant stay, helpful and friendly staff.
The room heating system didn't work well. First stay i couldn't turn it on. Second stay something came out. I used an extra cover.
The TV wouldn't connect.
Lockers in spa wouldn't open, had to call for help on both stays.

The location it was modern comfortable and good standard rooms
The fact that lots of guests were stood in from of the electronic doors smoking which made the bar/ reception area smoky and cold and they weren’t asked to move right away from the buildings

Walking distance to town centre, onsite parking, good rooms, lovely spa and a good choice of breakfast.

Good selection of breakfast food hot and fresh. Orange juice not very palatable. Prefer meuseli to granola
Hotel room on second floor very far away from the lift a long traipse for two pensioners with luggage. Also signage very confusing

Helpful staff, lounge area, comfortable bed. Ground floor for parent with mobility issues.
We requested a twin- the twin had less than 30cm between the bed so we effectively slept in a double bed. The beds could not be moved further apart because of fixed night stands intended for a double. The room was tired and there was damage and mould/limescale in bathroom.

Really lovely welcoming hotel. Room was spacious and clean.
3.0 / 10.0
The beds where comfortable, the spa was good value for money on its experiences, the staff where approachable and knowledgeable.
What looked like vomit stains on the wall and floor by the bed, no where to hang wet coats or umbrellas, cup holders where stained, tea spoons where sticky, mascara stain on the bedding, hair in the bedding, shower did not drain properly, rooms service trays left out in the hall way for 12 hrs, people on their phones in the spa, bodily fluid stains on the cabinets by the tv, bedside tables placed at a far distance making them inconvenient, no main light in the room so it was always dark

Nothing
It was dirty, everything was dusty.

Staff friendly… when you can reach them!
Spa facilities tiny and very cramped. Pool so small, hot tub fits about five people maximum and quite awkward standing around waiting for it. Changing rooms tiny. Spa treatments very expensive to say it’s not in central London/ not a five star hotel.
No one answers the phone! It’s so hard to call reception either for room service or when you call ahead of time. I had to call the restaurant to pass on a message about a requirement for our party which was never passed on.
Bedrooms were very dark and the air con super loud.
We had lunch for five and the food took 50 minutes to arrive. We had somewhere to be so this was incredibly frustrating. There was no good will gesture offered for this.
We brought the average age of the guests down by about 30 years… and we were on a 40th birthday party!

⭐⭐ ⭐ The Long-Awaited Romantic Weekend Away — How I Accidentally Booked a Plumbing-Themed Escape Room
Ah, romance. I imagined candlelight, soft music, maybe a little champagne. Instead, I got eau de drain with a hint of Victorian plumbing mystery.
The room itself was… fine. You know when something’s just fine? Like when you say “fine” through gritted teeth at Christmas dinner. The décor was okay, but every now and then there was a gentle waft of drains that really set the tone, kind of like being romanced by a sewage plant.
The shower was a “luxury waterfall” design which would’ve been lovely if the ceiling around it didn’t look ready to collapse under the emotional pressure. As someone of impressive height, I soon discovered that the waterfall hit me square on the skull and then ricocheted gracefully across the bathroom. Within seconds, the entire room was a paddling pool. Romantic, if you’re a duck.
Now, the “double classic” bed was actually two singles shoved together, a perfect metaphor for modern relationships: close, but with a noticeable gap in the middle. Every time I rolled over, I nearly fell into the abyss. I haven’t clung to the edge like that since secondary school P.E.
The bar in reception was as lively as a tax seminar. I half expected to hear my own echo order a drink.
On the bright side, there was a complimentary hamper. Lavender hand soap, lavender bath bombs, and a little lavender pillow sachet. It was very thoughtful and helped mask the drain smell, though I did end up smelling like my great-great-nan’s wardrobe for the rest of the weekend.
All in all, a memorable stay!
Would I come back? Maybe - if I ever miss the smell of lavender and damp plaster.
For a hotel spa and the amount of water I am disappointed that I forgot my trunks. Definitely required for the room but couldn’t venture as far as the pool.
⭐⭐ ⭐ Three stars for effort, and for giving me something to laugh about forever.

It is conveniently placed for travelling out of town with car park on site and in walking distance of Winchester town centre.
Good spa facilities, clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent and enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel one night which was good and reasonably priced.

The location is great, the hotels decor is very elegant and stylish. All the staff are incredibly well trained, polite, and professional, from housekeeping right through to the restaurant .The club bedroom was very roomy, and the bed was a great size.
The room was far too hot even though we reduced the thermostat to 18, which was the lowest temp. The bathroom was too small. We were in 331, and it was quite a trek to get to the room. Even though the waiters in the restaurant were fab, the food quality was very poor, our mains arrived while we were still eating our charcuterie starter, which was not ideal, we needed our starters to settle before the mains, as this was not the case. We could not eat our mains ascwe were full, although, I had the pork belly and it was completely vile and inedible, the meat was a mere slither thick, the fat was about 1.5 inches thick cold slime and the crackling was soft it was all undercooked and very unpleasant, the jus was thick, gloopy and very salty, the jus was also poured on my husbands pie and again far too thick, a jus should be light to enhance the dish not over power it. The waiter apologised and was very embarrassed. I also feel to be charged for parking when you are in the hotels back carpark in unacceptable.

I had a fantastic massage in the Spa with Olena - one of the best massages I've ever had. She was very friendly and listened to what I wanted.
The shower wasn't as clean - still hair from previous guest. I also found the pillows too hard, otherwise thought the decor was lovely and a very comfortable bed.
