Rail Station 3 mins. Theatre 5 mins

I went for the location and wasn't expecting much, a room above fast food/shop but I was very pleasantly surprised. On a road with traffic lights outside but it was quiet. I had a good sleep. I'd stay there again

Absolutely awful

Situated above a fast food outlet. So noise outside until very late. Didn't get much sleep. Would not recommend it at all.

If you sleep don't stay here

Location to centre , complimentary water, fridge , safe.

The noise of the takeaway below for hours, the doors banging , the traffic constant. The entrance door to the rooms left open unsafe. Stank of smoke in the hall ways. The mattress was memory foam and it felt sunken and uncomfortable.

Central location, well equipped room. Loved the robes.

Great location. Had to drive as our train was cancelled but the train station car park is reasonably priced and close by. Had everything we needed. Fridge was a great touch as was able to keep out wine cold to take down to the byob italian next door.

Automatic key pad was not working. I could get no response from the property owner or booking.com so had to organise alternative accommodation at my own expense

Excellent location, literally a 5/10 walk to the center of town. The room was clean and very comfortable.

Awful.

The property was very clean and had a comfotable bed. Facilities such as ironing board, safe and hair dryer good.

It is located above a kebab shop. I stayed on a Saturday evening. The noise level was off the scale and went on until 4:30am. Road noisy and loud voices and slamming doors. People going past my room and noise from people in room above. I was a solo female traveller and I felt really unsafe. As a consequence I had barely any sleep. I was actually terrified - not a nice feeling. In my opinion due to its location it should not be let out to paying guests.

Lovely place close to the train station

Very cosy, clean and organized room! The decoration was also lovely and the room was very close to the train station which is great if you don’t have a car

Unfortunately there wasn’t any mobile service and we couldn’t find the WiFi password… We contacted the host but didn’t get a reply, such a shame.

Perfect overnight stay near the station

Fab location for an overnight stay in Winchester on my stop off between Southampton and Bournemouth airports. Super simple check in, clean property and amenities were well equipped. Good value for money, would stay again!

Rooms not too sound proofed, could hear noisy neighbours above, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

Initial happiness soon wore off

Lovely decor, very clean, great location for town.

The shower & sink didn't drain properly. The shower tray nearly overflowed & my husband had to use the bathroom bin to bail it out. I sent 2 messages to the owner about it, but they went ignored. As we were staying there for a wedding it made getting ready very difficult & showering was virtually impossible. My husband put boiling water down the drain, and it brought up brown gunk and hair, which we couldn't properly clean back down. It was really really disappointing given our initial happiness when we got into the room. Quite disgusted by the lack of care or concern given that my previous communication with the owner had been speedy & helpful.

Potentially great but needs to sort the neighbours

Could be a great room but so much noise from the neighbours at night. Shower was great and bed really comfy and great to have a fridge to keep bits in.

The noise at night, neighbours coming in at 1am shouting and slamming doors. It’s was hot even in April but there was a fan.

Good location bit noisy

Rooms in a very central location , minutes walk from the train station , it’s above barber and tattoo shop I think, but there’s a lot of movement and a lot of neighbour door slamming before midnight but after midnight it’s quiet. So Saturday night it’s bit too noisy to rest but if you get back in late it’s fine . It’s decent room has all you need was really clean . It’s just the noise levels weee bit much

Disturbed sleep and tremendous smell from the takeaway below.

It was clean inside, had a comfortable bed and all I needed for my stay. The mini fridge was a great addition which is above what a regular hotel room would usually offer. The short walking distance to the station is very convenient.

The property is accessed through a staircase above a take away shop with all the cooking smells travelling directly upstairs. Staff members from the shop smoke downstairs and with all the undies and doors on the staircase open, the smoke mixed with strong frying odours is absolutely disgusting. The noise level cannot be cancelled with ear plugs, I’m afraid. It seems that the workers use the mini hall leading to the rooms when they make phone calls, and I was woken up at 2am with someone having an intense phone conversation for around 10 min directly outside my door. The shop seems to be open way into the night so there is a lot of laughter, chatting, sometimes shouting, the road is also very busy and the windows don’t provide a good noise insulation. I’d not be returning as left completely exhausted after two nights of very disturbed sleep.

Would never come here again

The room was cosy and warm and very close to the train station, it was clean and easy to access.

There were not plug sockets to use any appliances, and the one that was there you couldn't use because of a pipe running underneath it stopping the socket going in flush. Was a bit difficult to get the temperature right in the shower. Outside was extremely noisy and the person in the room above me decided to start moving furniture at quarter past midnight until I eventually left early at 1am because I just couldn't sleep.

It couldn't have been much nearer the station, which is what I wanted, without being built on the platform! It was well set up, clean and accessible

I would gave welcomed a few more milks for my coffee, but that's due to the way I have my coffee and it's a bit picky ...

The apartment was exceptional for the money, brilliantly decorated with some lovely additional touches thst were unexpected. Great value, will go back next year.

A good stay, marred only by a complete inability to contact the owner.

A great option for couples or solo travellers, close the station and a short walk into town. Had everything I needed for a 1 night stay. Consider earplugs if you like an open window, due to some light traffic noise outside.

I have tried to contact the owner repeatedly, by phone, text and through the Booking message service, as I left something behind in the room. The phone has gone unanswered, the voicemail box is full, texts don’t go through and my messages through the app have also been ignored. So good luck if you’re looking for the personal touch, as the owner seems to be completely uncontactable.

Ronseal job - did what it said on the tin.

Self check in was convenient, location very good, bed was comfortable. Built in device chargers was a nice touch. Room was quieter than I was expecting it to be given the location.

Strange smell in the room which lasted the entire stay, could have opened a window but would have been cold in winter. The shower could have had some instructions on how to work it. Instructions on where to find the property would have been handy as well as it’s not marked on Google Maps clearly enough and would have been very easy to miss, especially in the dark.

Very clean and tidy throughout. Room well appointed, fridge (with water), USB phone chargers. Good shower, bathrobes supplied. Bed comfy.

Was put off by the entrance (don't be) beside and above a kebab shop. Dark stairway which looked grubby in the wet.
