The bedroom and bathroom were beautifully decorated and very spacious. The restaurant below looked inviting, although, due to prior engagements, I did not eat there myself. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, as I am a fairly light sleeper I was disturbed by the traffic along the road nearby and the early morning refuse collection truck.

Pleasant large room.
Curtains hanging off the pole. Despite reporting this no action to rectify was taken. No kettle despite being listed. Double glazing on only one window and the latch was broken and couldn't be closed. Extremely noisy road noise all night. Booked for 2 nights but left after only one very disturbed night.

A lovely place to stay, tastefully styled to fit with the Japanese theme of the restaurant downstairs. Warm and comfortable, good size, nice bed and bathroom, and great price too.
TV was very small with poor sound, but I hadn't gone there to watch TV anyway!

I always enjoy staying at this hotel while I'm working in Winchester. Very comfortable and clean, rooms are good size. Walkable to High Street and the train station.

Location was great, right on the main street easy to get everywhere! It's right next to a multistory which was handy but that was expectedly very busy at Christmas time. Staff were all welcoming and helpful, thankyou đ

Lovely, comfortable room. Very close to town and staff were friendly.
Our room was on the road side and it was so noisy all night. Where the windows are thin as itâs an old (and beautiful building), it doesnât block the sound at all. We hardly slept. If youâre on the side away from the road or are used to busy road noise, it will be a lovely stay.

Beautiful, very spacious room, comfy bed, nice shower, everything was great. The staff were amazing. Do try the restaurant downstairs (if you like Japanese cuisine), it adds to the experience!

Fabulous location for exploring Winchester. The room was very spacious and had everything you could need for an overnight stay. The stylish DAB radio was a nice touch, we enjoyed listening to music while we had our morning coffee. Would definitely stay again, and we will try out their japanese restaurant next time!

Where to start is difficult, as everything about the stay was wonderful, starting with hotel manager Jason always asking how I was and making sure I was happy. The cleaners were great too, cleaning and refilling coffee while dressed and with the Christmas spirit to ensure the stay was perfect. Then the location is perfect with large car parks with 5 minutes walk, and a 24 hour Londis only 15 minutes walk. The hotel is just of the high street making it convenient for all major spots, not just all the shops and local mall, but also stones throw from the statue of King Alfred and 5 mins across from the great cathedral which is stunning and a must visit for a service. Even the restaurant down stairs serves amazing genuine Japanese food in a beautiful environment, with great service. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with elegant decor and large windows light up the room in the mornings. Soaked in history with dozens of historic sites churches, chapels and museums. Quaint coffee shops and a full spectrum of restaurants, maybe too many fish and ship shop, including Rick Steins place, all just as good as far as tasty food. Many walks and parks and vistas too.
Zero to say here!

Very helpful staff, very nice room, not too far from stations and town centre. The food at the attached Japanese restaurant is of the very highest quality.
A little street noise (my visit coincided with dustbin day!)

The location was good for the middle of town.
The room was very noisy. The pillows uncomfortable and the furnishings tired. The bathroom was grubby. There was no kettle but the staff, who were helpful and charming, provided one.

A little noisy however we didn't mind this.

The hotel is very near the city centre and well situated for the cathedral, Christmas Market and City Market which were the main reasons we stayed there. The Chisel multi-storey car park is only about 100 yards away, (but gets very busy between 11.00 and 2.00pm). Cost only ÂŁ7.30 per 24 hours which is cheaper than many hotel car parks. The Japanese theme of the hotel is charming but we didn't try the food. Pillows were nice. Lovely shower.
There was a bulb missing from the desk lamp. Also the 3 bulb lamp over the stairs had one dud bulb and one that flickered leaving only one working - for now. Despite the position of the hotel ÂŁ285 for two nights without breakfast seemed a bit expensive for a room looking out over a roundabout with some dubious secondary glazing which did not cut out traffic horns being blown occasionally.

The room was very spacious and clean and well decorated. Staff were lovely, restaurant below was fab and the location was v central
On closer inspection, we found things didnât work so b week. Our bedroom window didnât shut properly as itâs such an old building. However being on the main road we barely got any sleep, it was so loud, made worse by the gappy windows. The bed was not that comfortable and sheets felt rough. The pillows were squashed into pillow cases that were too small. The shower head does not stay on properly. Just needs more attention to detail

The location was excellent walking distance from city centre, our room was very clean with a choice of pillows which was good water in the room as well as
A coffee machine that doubles up as a hot water machine, tv had Netflix installed .
welcoming and friendly with us .
There is a Japanese restaurant downstairs which we didn't use as we are not great lovers of it , but it did look good .
Noise from outside at night we couldn't close windows as it is an old building ,
We had two windows in our room. One had a secondary window, which did help with the noise the other didn't. i couldn't understand that it did let the room down .
Could easily resolve that .

There was nothing to like about this hotel apart from the location . Extremely disappointed and shoulf of stayed elsewhere
Felt like someoneâs front room, you are above a restaurant thatâs extremely noisy till late. You might as well be downstairs having a conversations with the customer . Internet is poor and the tv doesnât work. The decor is dated and peeling. Sheets were dirty and the toilet seat had a yellow ring around it. The photos make the room look great. Itâs not value for money.
Donât waste your money. They need to reduce the price To access your room you have to go through the restaurant which just smells like fat frying and fish. This isnât a hotel as such itâs more like a restaurant with rooms upstairs

Location was good. Room size was big.
Unfortunately the room was not very clean. Had certainly not been hoovered. Someone elseâs clothes in the wardrobe. Room was noisy at night as right on high street and single glazed windows. Not able to book into the restaurant. Noone available to check out.

More information about the tv as we didnât know you had to turn the switch on underneath

Very comfortable room, furnished to a high standard. Loads if nearby restaurants and pubs. Good location.
No breakfast or parking option, but they are upfront about that and nearby multistorey car park.

Phoned hotel and they let us have an early check in for ÂŁ10. The room was massive. The bathroom was big with a lovely shower with complimentary toiletries. Radiators were on and the windows opened so you could regulate the temperature (obvs had a rad valve as well!). Lovely coffee machine too with a couple of bottles of complimentary waters.
We were in room 6. There was a noise outside the room which sounded like a pump that went off every 1/2 hour, not really loud but loud enough. We went to bed early, you could hear the music downstairs until around 11pm. The pillows were really hard n plump and big.

Location was good, as easy access to town
The staff checking in were lovely
I ate at the hotel as it was my daughters graduation and had informed them about this and was a bit disappointed that they did not acknowledge it with maybe a glass of bubbles or something, Ive stayed at other places in Winchester that I would rate better

Great, central location with an attractive and spacious room. The bed was comfortable and I really liked the offering of chocolate, as well as oat milk sachets for the coffee/tea - this is not something you see often. The shower was really nice and I liked that both Shampoo and Conditioner were provided. Good value for central Winchester
The heating was left on very high, meaning that the room was unbearably hot when we arrived. We opened the window and had to leave this open throughout the night to ensure the room was cooler, however this meant we were kept awake until the early hours due to the noise of people out on a Friday night and in the pizza restaurant opposite. Traffic noise was also very loud, so we hardly slept at all. The bathroom had some big cobwebs on the ceiling and the corners of the floor had not been cleaned, which was a shame, as the rest of the room seemed clean.

Delightful staff, very comfortable room and bed. Fantastic japanese restaurant downstairs.
If you like to sleep with the window open as I do, you will notice the street noise. As a tea drinker I would prefer a kettle rather than (or as well as) a coffeemaker. The water out of a coffee machine is never quite hot enough and always a little flavoured for making tea.

Room was amazing. Really stylish Japanese decor. It was really comfortable.
The room was way too warm. Even with the window open it took hours to cool and had strong waft of pizza from restaurant opposite.

The location was very good.
The food in the Japanese restaurant was excellent.
The shower head wasnât too great, but all the other aspects of the room and restaurant were so good, that it didnât really matter too much.

The room was comfortable and clean, it is well located
The house of the glass recycling keeps going all night, even after the restaurant closed music and noise can still be hard until 11:30pm
The room was incredibly hot with inadequate fan or cooling.
Overall for the price it wasn't worth it.
