Staggs Cottage

Beautiful b&b up a quiet lane overlooking farmland, very quiet, great for going for a walk and our dog loved it. The owner was very thoughtful and cooked us a fabulous breakfast, made us feel like friends not visitors. The bed was really comfy had a great night sleep

Location was down a quiet country road and offered a very relaxing tranquil nights sleep. Room was excellent; super comfy bed and a really good shower over bath, sink and toilet right next door. Everything was spotlessly clean. Jane, the host, was very welcoming and provided a first class breakfast cooked to order the next morning. I travel a lot and would struggle to recall a more relaxing, quiet, value for money night away anywhere that I have stayed recently in the UK.

Quiet and clean. Everything I required for a stop over place. Non invasive staff. Very helpful and friendly. I felt comfortable and safe.

Separate bathroom from bedroom, although it was exclusive, it was still only accessible via a communal landing.

The location is gorgeous, surrounded by fields and horses. The owner Jane makes you feel welcome and has excellent knowledge of places to visit in the area. Breakfast was lovely and I had the best night's sleep!

Charming countryside cottage with easy access, a comfy bed and a lovely host. It was spotlessly clean and I loved the Egyptian cotton bedding. Thank you, I will be back!

Very traditional English Bed & Breakfast - like a step back in time - when we used these types of guest houses before the big hotel chains - real country feel and sooo peaceful - very clean and very comfortable beds - lovely soft pillows - beautifully cooked English Breakfast served in house kitchen by the lovely host Jane, who made us feel very welcome

I am allergic to dogs and even though you couldnt see or hear them, there was a quite a doggy smell thoughout the corridor & breakfast room - not a slight on the stay - just my observation as anti dog person

The hostess was friendly and very pleasant: we felt like welcome guests in her house. The decor was very tasteful. The breakfast was prepared in front of us and was very nice. We had the use of a living room overlooking the garden. The scent of lilies just outside our window was enchanting. The location was perfec fo us: quiet but not remote. Very good value for money.

The bathroom wasn't en suite, but I probably hadn't read the description carefully enough. It was however exclusive to us.

Warm welcome from Jane even though I called in early as my phone needed charging after using it for directions. Jane made an excellent pot of tea, welcomed my dog and chatted whilst my phone charged. Every part of the beautiful cottage was in pristine condition. Room and bathroom had a brilliant white decor and impeccably clean with stunning views from the window. Delicious full english breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended.

If you have come across Staggs Cottage, while looking for a lovely place to stay, book it, now! You will be hard pressed to find any faults staying here, it simply is perfect. We arrived around 8pm,and we were firstly greeted by Frankie, the resident spaniel, at our car door 😍 The host Jane greeted us, and then made us a lovely pot of tea, and provided biscuits too. We sat chatting to Jane, as if we had just arrived at a friend's house! We were made to feel at home, and were filling Jane in on our life story before we knew it!! We were shown to our rooms. My daughter and grandson had a beautiful downstairs garden room, and my husband and I, had the double bedroom, upstairs. We were the only people staying so had exclusive use of the shared bathroom upstairs, as did my daughter with the downstairs bathroom. In total there were 4 bedrooms, however if you want exclusive use of the bathroom, then Jane can accommodate that, by only renting out 2 rooms, which I think is very gracious of her. Our room overlooked the fields opposite, which were home to about 6 horses. It really is an idyllic location. Our bed was extremely comfortable, with tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Everywhere was extremely clean, and wonderfully decorated throughout. Jane asked what time we would like breakfast, so it was cooked to order when we came down. Breakfast was outstanding, cereals, a whole host of jams and marmalade, and a wonderful full English. There was also bourbon biscuits, slyly bought out for our Grandson, which was gratefully appreciated. Jane really is the hostess with the mostest... Our only dislike, is that we had to leave after one night, so will definitely be putting Staggs Cottage in the diary again, for a future, much longer stay. Thank you Jane, for accommodating us, and for being kind to not only us adults, but also our Grandson. We hope to see you again soon 😍

People very friendly, minimal checking-in process. Very clean, very spacious, bright and airy room. Location was absolutely fantastic. quiet, in the countryside, beautiful surroundings.

There was genuinely nothing I did not like.

I didn't have the breakfast (by prior arrangement), but loved the dual aspect windows in the room, made it very light and airy.

Bathroom was across the hallway.

Jane was a lovely host and chef (breakfast was lovely). Bed very comfortable, room and bathroom clean. Easy parking and quite location.
