    We stayed here for 1 night on our way back to Cornwall from Heathrow. We were tempted by the Tesla Supercharger, swimming pool and other reviews. It did not disappoint. We pulled up at the Tesla charger which was available. A short walk took us to reception where we were checked in and given directions to the room. The room was clean with all the usually expected facilities. Nice bathroom although the sink was low. It was a ground floor room so maybe to allow disabled use. Bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning. We had opted for breakfast and it was excellent. The normal hot offerings, bacon, eggs, sausages etc along with wonderful pastries, fresh fruits and yoghurts. Of course toast and cereals all available. The staff were all polite and available. We didn't get to use the pool due to time constraints, we did however decide to take a walk around the lake which was shown on the site map given to us at reception. This is where the hotel had it's only failing. The walk wasn't maintained, we attempted it but were met by several fallen trees and eventually the path running out at what could only be decided as a bog. We went back the way we came and bumped into 4 other people trying to find it, two of which were using walking sticks, we advised against there attempt. As the walk is not actually there anymore it should be removed from the map, advised upon by the reception staff on being given the map or just being repaired. That all said, we will definitely be using the hotel again, just avoiding the walk and making use of the swimming pool etc instead and would recommend it highly.

    We had a wonderful night away, the rooms are lovely and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend eating at The Mayfly as it has beautiful views and is a short drive from the hotel

    Initially we had high hopes as had a lovely welcome from a girl at reception. However, room hadn't been prepared to a reasonable standard. We had the previous guests half-drunk water bottle in the fridge left as one of our two complimentary water bottles, and only one bath towel for the two of us! I raised at reception as we left and as a gesture of goodwill was promised they would refund the £25 dog charge that day. More than 10 days on and multiple emails later, I have still not received the refund!! Grounds are beautiful and the location was ideal to break up our journey to Cornwall but housekeeping needs improving!
