Good location, staff all friendly.
Hotel very dated and in need of some refurbishment. Water had 2 settings. Freezing cold or scolding hot. Literally unusable shower and bath as water was scolding hot. Food was dreadful. Probably worst evening meal and breakfast I've had at a hotel.

Breakfast was good, staff were friendly. Free parking which was great. The bed was large, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was dissopointing, dirty in the toilet, with cigarette ash. The floor looked like it had not been hoovered for a few weeks. Looked like crumbs and dead skin on the floor, im glad I took my slippers. Such a shame the cleanliness let the place down!

Beds are the comfiest I've ever slept in at any hotel....I was in room 20 and it was lovely and quiet....
Breakfast not Included anymore was a bit disappointing....and the rooms themselves could do with a lil bit of tlc..my room had wallpaper hanging off...and my TV reception was,a bit hit and miss..might have been the weather though...

Location
I stayed Monday to Thursday for work. Breakfast was simple but acceptable.
Unfortunately, the room had a strong unpleasant smell, especially from the pillows and wardrobe. I asked for the bedding to be changed, but the new ones, although clean-looking, still did not smell fresh. Some wallpaper was peeling, and overall the room felt poorly maintained.
There were also disturbances: a false fire alarm at 1:00 am and loud banging in the corridor around 6:00 am. As I was staying for work, proper rest was important, and this was not possible.
I understand this is a pub and some noise is expected, but improvements in room freshness, maintenance, and early-morning noise management would make a big difference.

It is an old coach house dating back to the 1600s so has a lot of character. The staff were fantastic and helpful. The bed was comfortable and food was great. Superb location for our needs.
The rooms need an update as they are very tatty. Our bed had no headboard, the walls were covered in lining paper with random patches of plaster and the roller blind in the bathroom was very dirty.
I know it’s a very old property but the rooms could be so much better.

Food good👍
Bar and games used by locals, always a good sign.
Great building. It's like a TARDIS, small outside inside huge.
Close to the town centre.
Last night there was no heating or hot water for a shower in the morning🥶.

It was in the town centre.
Everything, the room stunk of sewage, the walls had holes in, the wall paper was peeling off, the curtains were just barely having on, there was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, the shower barely worked.
The whole room just stunk and looked unclean and the fact I paid almost £80 for that privilege was just disgusting.

We only stayed in the hotel for 1 night after arriving in the UK. It’s about 90 minutes drive from Heathrow and very easy to reach and find. Andover is a nice small town but it was only a stop-over visit. The White Hart is very convenient right in the middle of the old town. There are parking facilities at the hotel and it’s a deceptively large place. It has the real “Wnglish Pub” feel and a good menu with all the traditional pub fayre offered. The hand pulled Courage “Directors” best bitter was superb!!! The room we had was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The room was warm and well heated which was nice in the middle of December! The accommodations are quite individualistic and the decor is somewhat dated - not the 1 piece mould- injected Raddison or Holiday Inn experience. It’s basically a Pub with rooms available. The White Hart is very well located in easy reach of many interesting and historical location in the South of England and a great over-nighter if you are going on into the South -West or Devon & Cornwall. It’s also easy to visit Stonehenge for example - about 30 minutes away, or the historic city of Salisbury. The staff or very friendly and helpful and you can expect that best of British, the Full English Breakdast to set you for the day.
The only negative thing I would say is that the hotel needs to think about sorting out a decent WiFi setup, there was something available as “Free_AndoverWiFi” but totally useless with no connectivity for us at all. In 2026 decent WiFi is an expectation not a benefit, so especially for overseas visitors who might not have mobile roaming cellular connectivity a good WiFi is essential.

I'm a country lad so found the location a little noisy obviously but the staff and landlord and landlady were very welcoming and helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay 👍
Not so much didn't like but the room was in up and down stairs location.

Great Location, friendly and helpful staff.
Good Linen.
Clean.
Good Breakfast!
The Pub serves food all day.
Heritage building in the town centre with parking!!
The Pub and Restaurant are fully accessible.
The stairs to some rooms could be a problem if you have mobility issues.
However it is a 17th. century coaching inn with all 'the character' that such an old building has.

The staff were really pleasant.
The hotel was nothing like the description. The room was really tired and looked nothing like the photographs.
The ceiling in the bathroom had paint flaking from it.
The room was much smaller than the photos. The wardrobe was missing its doors. The previous kettle had clearly broken - its base had been screwed to the table / shelf so the solution was to cut the cable off, leave the broken base there and leave the cable clips (with no cable) nailed to the wall. The dirt suggested it had been there for some time.
The wall had a large crack right around the light switch that had clearly been there for some time by the dust in it.
There is no door between the bar and the stairs to the letting rooms, and with long winding corridors it feels a security issue. As there was a band set up at the bottom of (and facing) those stairs it was also noisy.
It felt so tired I bought bottled water to clean my teeth.

Breakfast was ample but very greasy.
The room was freezing cold on arrival, the windows need sorting, there was no latches.
On arrival we could not get to the car park, would have been nice to have had an email telling us the road was closed, we had to keep riding round trying to find somewhere to park. After the long journey we had to get there it was the last thing we needed. We couldn't relax until after 9.30 pm as we had to move the car to the carpark or get a parking ticket.

Room was grotty. Bed had no headboard wall behind bed was dirty. Walls around light switch were dirty. Carpet was old and worn. No plug socket for kettle. Constant to put kettle on. No wood on window ledge. Curtains were old and worn. Stains on carpet, stains and old worn chairs in room. Whole place in need of renovation and over hall. Complained about room asked for another as no way were we staying in allocated room. No rooms available. We did not stay. I would absolutely not recommend. Rooms that are shown on web page aren’t the ones at this hotel. Was disgusting. Would give this hotel a minus if it was at all possible .
Everything. This place was way below par. I don’t want to lay down our overnight bags we don’t take shoes off. We didn’t sit down. We didn’t stay despite travelling for over 6 hours . We found alternative accommodation. Please please don’t stay here.
