The home was beautiful- wish we could have stayed longer.

Wish that they could just message you the code rather than having to go to a separate place for check in. Just made us take extra stops.

Hanatoki Machiya House was absolutely stunning—an architectural masterpiece that perfectly blends tradition with modern comfort. The house is incredibly spacious, and I loved the thoughtful mix of both Western and Japanese-style bedrooms. Every detail, from the sliding doors to the wooden beams, felt like a work of art. One of my favorite features was the heated floors—such a game-changer in Kyoto’s chilly winter months. Waking up to a warm, cozy space made my stay even more comfortable. The outdoor garden was the perfect touch, adding a peaceful, natural element to the experience. The hospitality here was top-notch. Each morning, the staff delivered a beautifully prepared traditional Japanese breakfast, which was both delicious and a special cultural experience. They also provided great coffee options, which was a much-appreciated bonus.
