Nested at the foot of Kyomizudera, a minute walk from the bus stop, the location of this machiya is great. The house is old and could do with some renovation, but if you’re after a traditional experience this place will deliver!
The traditional bay windows leading to the garden are so old that they’re breaking. The bath tub could be cleaned better? It looks dirty, but maybe it’s stained, not sure. 🫣

Nice, quiet and convenient place. Loved the ryokan set up of sleeping on tatami mats n futons. The receptionist was nice. Walking Distance from the temple n food places n attractions so convenient. Will certainly come back to stay longer. Loved the clean, simple and spacious room set up with a private bathroom. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Everything is great.

it was clean and location was good
it didn’t retain much heat and was very cold. it was also very small for 4 people to stay in, especially the bathroom and coffee section. the main living area was very outdated.
