Thanks to the wonderful Japanese style of hospitality, the three of us had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in Kyoto.
The madam at Kissako was also extremely kind to us.
We would very much like to visit again.

Nice Machiya house and open bath was nice
- No staff were around, expected it to be like a hotel but is like air bnb, thus i had to cancel my luggage delivery from Osaka to Kyoto
- The room was cold downstairs and there were mosquitos.
- Bathtub took a long time to fill up.

Everything - from the lovely welcoming tea ceremony upon check in, to the traditional breakfast presented at our door the next morning. Although the food wasn’t really my taste, it was generous and the dishes I did enjoy were interesting and something I likely would not have tried otherwise. The facilities were clean and modern within the traditional style home. The private onsen was a highlight and the bed was very comfy - great after a long day of walking. The location was very central and was quick walking access to Shichijo station, Kyoto National Museum and lots of temples. Overall, a fantastic place to stay when you first arrive in Kyoto!
