Worth staying at despite a few niggly pointers

The location was only a 20 minute walk from the town centre. Parking was available in the turning and adjacent streets. Nice size kitchen/diner. I'd happily stay there again.

In the twin bedroom, there wasn't any hanging space for clothes. As it's classed as a house for 6, there was only one small toaster for 2 Slices at a time and really need a four slice toaster. The sofa wasn't the most comfy to sit on but we only spent a short time in the room so was fine. Parking is available but can be difficult as narrow turning and a large vehicle will find it tricky getting the turn to park correctly.

The location is great, that's about it

All cutlery, plates etc were super dirty, the freezer was full of ice and unusable. The sofa and futton in the living room were impossible to sleep on, there was no bedding linen for the living room either. Sofa and futton were very dirty and smelly.

Disappointing

-Bedrooms were comfortable - Location was great - Free parking - Kitchen fully equipped with utensils - Heating was good. - Bedding provided was clean.

- The 'sofa' beds were extremely uncomfortable and not suitable for anyone to have a good nights sleep on and are only suitable for one person each, so do not count these for your stay. These also only came with one duvet between the two. - when we unfolded the sofa beds, there were crumbs inside. - Bedrooms were unclean, with used tissues under beds! - Owners did not offer to solve any issues, just to take the feedback on board, so we were left with one duvet for two beds.

Great base for exploring York. Thoroughly recommend it.

Loved the location, only 20 minutes walk into centre of York. Fantastic local brunch places just 15 minutes walk away. Recommended by hosts. Shops nearby as well for supplies - beer and chippy :) and parking right outside which was ideal.

Its a very, very minor point, but the sofa in the front room was uncomfortable when we all sat down to watch tv in the evening. Sore back after a long movie....as I say, very minor point and it certainly wouldn't stop me from coming back!

Location, great base to visit the University

The house is OK but it is completely overpriced. I guess it is a busy weekend in York and you try to make as much money as possible of families like us visiting the university. I travel around a lot, UK and Europe, so I have been in many accommodations before, and I find this price completely disproportionate for what it is.

Great location and hosts

The house was very clean and tidy and the amenities were really good. Plenty of tea/ coffee/ towels, etc. There was lots of space for 6 of us and the two bedrooms were really comfy. The hosts were great and very responsive to messages, and there was a beautiful Christmas tree up. The location was very close to the racecourse and about a 25-minute walk from York city centre, which was perfect for us. The free parking was incredibly useful as well, because parking in York can be a nightmare! There was a cracking breakfast at a pub a 5 min walk away as well, The Knavesmire, so I would recommend it for anyone staying.

Everything was great, the only downside was my brother said the sofa bed wasn't particularly comfortable. We were only there one night but if we had been there for longer a mattress topper or something would have been really helpful.

Good location. Beds comfortable, house lovely and warm.Has free parking.

No freeview tv,wifi kept freezing so was hard to watch anything. Stairs are very steep but this was mentioned on the description of the property.

Excellent!!

It was literally a home from home. Very clean and had everything you could possibly need. When we next go to York this will be the first accommodation I'll be checking for availability.

I can't say I didn't like anything. It was well maintained, not far from York so a taxi only cost us £15, although we could have easily walked the mile to town. If I had to pick one thing the narrow street but nothing really anyone can do about that.

A good place to stay if you're out all day

Lovely and convenient walk into York and dog walk

Sofa beds are small. A fan would be good during hot weather, windows don't let much air in. Blinds let lots of light in so woke up at 4am

Absolutely perfect for 4 out of the 5 guests!!

Gre location and really clean! Loved the shower too!!

My friend staying on the sofa bed was a little disappointed as there were no blinds on the door/window above which made the room very light in the morning. We tried to cover with bin bags but a blind would have been a lot better! The Sofa bed itself was also not very comfy - I think it would be best to advertise this as a 4 person property instead of 5/6. Other than that, everything else was perfect!
