Great location

Great location, house tired but well equipped

Heating didn't work for the whole stay. Bitterly cold. Had to cut short stay early as too uncomfortable. Owner tried to rectify but couldn't be done. Refund offered and accepted. Good communication with owner throughout.

Overall the space was adequate

Beds were very uncomfortable Kitchen cabinets had doors hanging loose.. taps in bathroom were difficult to turn on and off.

Loved it, we had great weather and Alexandra cottage was the perfect base.

Perfect base to explore Windermere, walkable to both Bowness and Windermere. House was warm, clean and had everything we wanted, decor is a little dated, but we thought it was quaint.

Easy to get to . Walking distance to fab places to eat pleasant stay

Nice location pleasant stroll to the town .. definitely need new beds and pillows .problems with boiler no heating or water but it was soon resolved as someone came straight out . Very strange set up with two bathrooms next to each other . Parking ok .all in all a good time was had .

Nice cottage, badly managed

Very spacious and well-equipped house.

The accommodation itself is perfectly nice and excellent value for money, although slightly dated in appearance. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. On our first morning there, we woke up to a kitchen absolutely covered in dying wasps - at least 30 of them. I reported this via booking.com, and was told that hey had “passed this to the local office and they will be in contact with you”. Nobody contacted us, and we were left to deal with the problem by ourselves. Thankfully, after I had killed and removed all the wasps, we didn’t see any more for the remainder of our stay. However, given the numbers, I suspect there may be a nest on the property somewhere. Things like this happen and can’t be helped, but I was shocked that after a customer reported this problem the management agency chose to completely ignore it.

Excellent location,a great base to explore the area and a nice stroll down to bowness,would be happy to go back and probably will.Bed was really comfy,slept like a log,loads of places and things to do within walking distance or a short drive.Orrest head just a stroll up the road for a good view of Windermere

Overall warm house nice bathrooms, comfortable stay
