Perfect cottage for exploring The Lakes

This was a lovely cottage, all mod cons, brilliant location, parking permit was great and useful for a lot Of car parks. Travelled with elderly parents and dog, plenty of room and the downstairs toilet was great, especially if struggle with stairs. Beautiful cottage. Everything was within walking distance, ideal if use a wheelchair as easy to get in and out, everything is local shops, great pubs & eatery’s, boat rides across the lakes all walking distance.

The shower screen upstairs is curved and to big for the room, it has a bulky radiator opposite, which seemed to be on all the time! red hot, You couldn’t touch it and I burnt my side on it. not enough space to get past to the toilet! Ended up covering radiator with towels. No instructions for Hive heating. Didn’t realise garden is shared! My dog is very well behaved, I went round to introduce myself and my dog and the neighbour was wonderful, she understood that my dog might bark at her through the glass door if in garden ! Thankfully there was no barking, but it needs to be clearer it’s a shared garden.

Nice cottage and location for short break.

Cottage was in a great location. Property had everything you needed for a short stay. Beds were comfy and bathroom although small was fine with a good shower. Had to park on a general long stay car park but a permit was included so did not have to pay.

Location. The local office were lovely. Restaurant recommendations were brilliant thank you.

The house is marketed as housing 6 people. This is impossible as the sofa bed was unfit for purpose and there are only 4 of everything. We had to ring for a sheet for the sofa bed and towels for guest 5 and 6. These were delivered next day we were garteful. The parking is very difficult to use during busy periods and we struggled to find a space. This property is looked after by a large agent, who markets on booking.com. Customer service of both were the worst I have experienced in a long time spending over 6hrs on hold in various phonecalls with no resolve. There is then a local office who manage the property and they tried their best to smooth the stay being local staff etc. I spent a total of 6hrs on hold to various people to try to resolve the matter of correct bed arrangements and price match guarantee before I travelled having done some deeper research after I booked. My advice is not to booked this cottage if you have more than 4 people and do not rely on price match to reassure you to book it either.

We concluded within 30 mins we could not stay in this property, the mattress alone was 🤢

On walking into the property the smell was the first impact of sick and urine the property was very worn and not fit for purpose with the mattresses and the 2nd bathroom was a shower over the toilet, the general appearance was very worn compared to the photos online

Cottage lovely, staff do not communicate

The location, it was close by to all shops and the Lake

Myself and granddaughter (age 16) were sat in the living room when 2 strange men used a key and came into the property. Nobody had told us of this, we were not expecting this so it was quite shocking to see 2 strange men come into the property we were renting. They told me the office had asked them to come as one of the beds were broken, but they left. We were then left with a 2 bedroom cottage and had to sleep downstair on a sofa bed as we weren't sure which bed was broken and didn't want to sleep on a bed for it to collapse on us. My concern is more that 2 men entered the cottage, were our personal belongings are, what if we weren't in as it was in the middle of the day but more than anything what if my 16 year old granddaughter had have been in on her own, having a shower, naked and 2 strange men are entering, nobody wanrned us of this. Also collecting the keys from the office, its on a very busy one way road, queues during the day, struggle to get to the office, park and get away then from the office

I liked that it had character! It was in the perfect location for what we wanted to do. I’ve seen reviews that the bed was uncomfortable but I thought it was very comfy. It felt very homely too.

The mirror doesn’t sit straight it keeps swinging back so had to put a pillow against it to stop this from happening. We were let with 1 half full toilet roll so had to purchase more for the length of our stay. The instructions regarding the Wi-Fi were not accurate. The instructions showed a completely different network to what was coming up and password was wrong. It also said that the router was beside the coffee table but this was not the case. We phone to ask where this was and they had said beside the TV but that was also incorrect… after some digging we found this in the cupboard in the Kitchen where the boiler is and this was for a completely different network and password. instructions needs updated to show correct network. Other than that it was the best 4 night stay we have had in a while

freezing cold down stairs settees needed a clean + uncomfortable down stairs toilet not very nice double bed bit small + uncomfortable single bed had springs comming up in it the tellys were so small you could not see the tv guide booked for a week checked out after 3 days
